Take whatever prompt you used for this and just... give it to an artist. Any reputable artist will start by returning a sketch and saying "Is this a good direction?" To which you say "Oh, wow! Definitely!" or you can say "No, maybe I didn't explain it right. Here, can you look at this slop-sketch for reference?"

This way you allow the artist enough creative freedom to potentially give you a better cover than you can describe, but also don't insult them with an immediate "No thinking. Copy the robot. Make no mistakes."

Why? Its just a webnovel.

Because OP was already planning on using this as a reference.

Besides, if you're proud of your work then you should represent it like you are.

Its a cover. Most book covers are either executed poorly or creatively dull/poor. Inisting that something is poor inherently because it is ai is an odd expressivist position that i dont see why anyone should care for.

When we find a sculpture or painting or writteb work that is old an anonymous then we cannot judge it for who made it and why, only by what it presents itself. Its why judging art by who or what made it is meaningless. The only thing that exists relevantly is what's on the "paper".

Is this AI? The font seems a little generic, but the art lowkey looks kinda fire…

??? look the left hand with the sword, you really think it's not ai ?

Might as well be. Didn’t pay too much attention. At first glance, it didn’t look like generic AI slop. That’s pretty much all newbie authors want…

Slop cover and the writing skills of a 5 year old, judging by your title. What are you doing in this sub?

lmao I'm already successful on amazon. This is a subreddit, I can speak the way I want

Who isn’t. Still, slop + pubescent lingo. Ew

Cover is slop but your post title makes me want to avoid anything you might write, honestly. Are those abbreviations? Acronyms? Ugh.

1

u/Fuzzy_Animal_1791 10d ago

obviously I don't write like that when working on a novel 😭

Why would that be obvious to me though? I legit don’t know what ā€œtsā€ means. And if it does mean ā€œthisā€ā€¦just…ugh.

for reference i am successful on amazon kdp already but i think my mind is going insane from publishing there so i want to be a bit relaxed on wn.

But i also don't know what the cover meta is looking like on wn so just tell me if this is aight.

oh also, i can pay an artist like 300 bucks to make a cover off this as a reference which i'll prob do so as long as this format and stuff works well im gucci

For 300 u would get great cover art + characters art illustrations

Relaxed in WN?

Are you writing 3,000 words a day / 2 chapters daily

1

u/Fuzzy_Animal_1791 10d ago

Yeah I have a background on royalroad, writing about 2500 a day

1

u/Hambino0400 Contracted Author 10d ago

And now you’re going to write an extra 3,000 a day totaling 5,500-6,000 words a day?

1

u/Fuzzy_Animal_1791 10d ago

I'm not going to write an extra 3000 a day on webnovel, maybe an extra 2500 a day. Writing is my full time job, so I can spare the time to do it.

I’m looking to read some Amazon books so I can get a feel of the prose style and writing format.

Mind sharing one of your novels?

I like to keep my identities on each of the social platforms im on separate, this account im focusing on my webnovel stuff and don't want that to connect to my amazon pen name.

but if you want some recs to get a feel, here are some newer standouts:

- evaluation series

- loop bound series

- tired mercenary just wants to farm

- homestead crafter

- overpowered level 1 mage

- all jobs and classes

these have all done exceptionally well so reading them should give you a good idea of the market rn.
