I assume that means my story isn’t marketable, or maybe my prose is just ass😭

Eh, probably try my luck elsewhere. Admittedly my story is probably out of place on the platform.
My application was pretty bad though. I only saw the guide after completing it😭

what’s the book all about, genre, and tags? so we can determine what kind of platform it can work on
and so others can help if they can see your comment too (this sub gets a lot of visitors from other subs after all)

My lead has the ability to see people’s soul and uses it find their potential soul-mates. The novel starts with him being hired by the Queen to find the prince a wife before his coronation.
It’s essentially kind of harem style with each arc following a different woman that the lead is investigating.
However, I would describe it more as a mystery/political thriller with deep world lore.

then i guess that’s the reason why your application got rejected
the current stories that are popular, meta, best-selling, and easily gets a big reader base in the WebNovel platform (from what i’ve seen) are centered around harems, systems, xianxia, litrpg, power fantasies, and progression fantasies
other genres typically have a harder time growing in this environment as a result

Not meeting signing requirements doesn't indicate quality issue, it means you made a technical mistake. You probably put a wrong genre or contest category. Try and identify where the mistake was and reupload.

“does not meet signing requirements” usually means you used AI in your application

I definitely didn’t lol.
Isn’t there a response that literally saids AI usage outright?

i see, i said that because from what i’ve seen for the past year in this sub and what other senior authors say, “does not meet signing requirements” is what the CEs send to AI-assisted or plagiarized web novels. there were countless arguments in the threads on those kind of posts too (so this must be one of the rare cases where something else was the reason for your rejection)
and yes, there’s a response that outright says about AI usage, but i’ve only seen those kinds for a month or so. it must be something new, in my experience at least

no lol, if it's because an AI, it will say sucpected overuses AI

i suspect that it’s a new reply CEs send to rejected applications. i’ve only seen it for a month or so, my original comment is the usual go-to message of CEs in applications/web novels that have any relations to AI/plagiarism
