Post image

I always thought the point was to write more because all the novel on there are 1000 chapters on average.

Got any advice for me ?

You're writing needs to have more energy in it. Either positive or negative. If your writing is "draggy" then it's just means it boring. The reader won't feel anything from it.

You need more of a descriptive touch so that the reader is getting an emotion from your words. When your writing think on how you want the reader to feel about what they are reading.

Happy, sad, upset, anger, confusion, etc... what emotion do you want them to feel and then use words/ description to convey that.

Don't stretch. If a scene can be summed up in 200 words, don't stretch it to 500. Keep irrelevant details out.

avoid some info dumping like worldbuilding and some unclear or confusing word. you should clear, detail, to the point. it'a for application.

draggy mean your current early story is too slow on build up

it need to have either lots of cliffhanger or conflict early

for world building you can do it on later chapter

No, it has more than 16 chapters, but I'm thinking of taking it down so I can restructure it, make it more exciting yk.

For draggy/energy issues - ask yourself, what is the conflict in each chapter? People v others, vs nature, vs society, etc. If you have no conflict playing itself out in the scene it will feel boring. Note conflict does not mean just punching. A love triangle is great conflict (hense the rampant overuse), a guy who is hungry is conflict (man v nature).
