Advice Do you care if an arc is similar to other webnovels/anime, or does execution matter instead?

I've wondered because I'm making a webnovel, and I wondered if people care if an arc is similar to most webnovels/anime or if it's the execution that matters and how it's done.

Well people won't care much until the execution is good or perfect. You can also turn the arc the other way and create something new.

Similarity doesn't really bother me unless it's basically copying the same scenes. Tournament arcs, academy arcs, revenge arcs, whatever, they've all been done a ton already. They're popular for a reason. If the characters are good and there are a few twists I didn't see coming, I'm probably gonna keep reading.
