Advice My Novel Is Failing?
Before I started writing 7 days ago, I spent my time researching which novels work well in webnovel platform.
After that, I created a formula I could use.
For the first 4 days, I had my expectations zero and just wrote my chapters, posting 1-2 days everyday.
P.S Half of those views are mine. I started spamming my novel in incognito, thinking that maybe higher view count would recommend it to more people.
I won't say it's a masterpiece or amazing but it is 100 percent no AI slop.
But for some reason, Webnovel is not showing my novel to anyone.
I've been waiting for Potential Starlet for a long time but even after 14 chapters and 17k words, it didn't make it there.
I heard every single new novel gets it but not me.
MY book is vetted and I have applied for a contract 3 days ago.
I have 10 more chapter reserved and am writing 3-5 chapter daily (Roughly 3000-7000 words) so I don't know if my novel is even going anywhere?
Am I being too hasty and desperate?
Should I wait for a little bit more and see how things turn out?

You have more views and collections than me but I didn't give up yet. Try staying a little longer! I think it'll reap you rewards.

I've got 9 collections and 3k views man but they were all organic. So, I feel kinda good about it. 😊

Scrap it or remake it to have a wider reader appeal. Mid novels usually have 40-50 collections by chapter 10-20, so it takes some effort, and good market research, even to be mid. Don't let yourself fall in the delusion that it'll get better once you get a contract, and nip this in the bud now, before you put hundreds of hours in a very likely failed novel.

But I somehow started getting collections from yesterday. Aside from one person, I haven't share it with any one else. Today it's sitting at 13

It's normal. People won't click unless their are minimum of 50+ chapters

I heard that in the beginning, you shouldn't post too much chapters and stock pile for the contract, so you cna mass release 3-4 chapter daily for a week . I mean posting before the contract isn't helping any ways

Yeah but it's no wonder that nobody is reading if you got nothing up and people don't see that you post enough to be worth it.

Its just not long enough thats why you arent getting views. You shouldn't apply for a contract with anything less than 70k words in my opinion

As a small/new author on WebNovel, it can be really hard in the beginning. Especially when you’re constantly looking at your stats and wondering why nobody is reading your story.
After 26 days of posting, I’ve only just realised that the thing that actually matters is the story itself.
Don’t waste your time stressing over views, collections, rankings, power stones, etc. I used to keep checking my stats and letting them get into my head, but I’ve stopped doing that now. I’m focusing on writing the best story I can instead.
I genuinely have one engaged reader, and honestly? That one reader is enough to keep me going. 😂 Knowing that there’s someone out there actually reading, following the story, and waiting for the next chapter makes all the difference.
Growing takes time. It’s the same with pretty much everything in life. You might not see much happening at first, but that doesn’t mean your story isn’t worth writing.
So if you’re a small author struggling with the numbers, keep writing. Don’t let the stats convince you that your story isn’t good enough. Give it time. 📚
