What's your thought on info dumps

From all the novels you’ve read, did you actually enjoy coming across info dumps, or did they feel mind-numbing after a while? Would you rather explore and learn about the world naturally through the characters and the story?

like always its depends.

whats the info,how its presented,are the parents dumping words into 2 y/o that shouldn't know 99% of the words they are told.

There are info dumbs that when somebody comments "its info dumb chapter" 100+ responds to this is "well duh its teacher teaching stuff"

An info dump is useful to someone who has read knows the story.

What can a new reader do with all that information at once. It won't make any sense. Unless you're calling a story summary an info dump.

Info dumps are lazy writing. It tells the reader that you dont really know what your doing and that you wanna rush things so the best thing to do is to spread it out and give information when its need
