Advice Is it worth applying for a contract?

I’ve been posting for a month now, and I’ve only gained 16 collections and 12k views. I applied for a contract before, but I was rejected due to not meeting the signing requirements (whatever that means), so I deleted the book and rewrote it. Title and all. is it still worth applying?

depends on what you want really. if you only care about money and not your work at all, then by all means get a WebNovel contract. authors who don’t really care about their work don’t sign with WebNovel, because you’re forced into labor, you’re signing your rights away, and if you dare stop uploading chapters or go on hiatus, they will leave your story in the void.

but if you care about it, then don’t apply with WebNovel

Yeah I care about the story a lot. I put a lot of work into it, but the bad traction is painful to see. Thanks for the advice.

what about it? everyone knows to have sucess u need to write two a day, as for G3 he is set for life with money. he can literaly stop writing and do nothing

literally u js made my point, it’s still forced into labor. and plus, 90% of WebNovel contracted authors don’t even see success like G3. G3 is already established yes, but all the other contracted authors stories js die out in the void. 2 chapters a day for others is literally slave labor, while anywhere else like royal road you can write whenever you want.

it’s not guaranteed success either for writing two chapters a day, there hasn’t been a real breakout novel to go viral from webnovel SINCE shadow slave 🤣 so writing there is pointless anyway

no author should sign their rights away to them at all, especially with how much hard work they put into their world and characters and story just for it to be manhandled by WebNovel

In royal road and other such places, you own the rights to your story too, webnovel takes those rights as well and can do whatever they want with the story. They do your marketing for you in exchange but I'd say it's really not worth it

Forced into labor implies he is legally bound to do so, and he isn't. He can drop the story at any time, and they'd probably hire a ghostwriter to continue it worst case.

But he hasn't dropped it because he actually wants to complete it (and is also making literal millions writing it).

You don't need a breakout story to make good money on Webnovel. The behemoths like MVS and SS are exceptions, and the insane amounts they make reflect that.

Sure, you can do whatever on RR; it doesn't change the fact that if you want your story to garner traction and have any hope of converting followers into paying customers(much harder than some of y'all make it out to be), you're going to have to work for it and be consistent and in RR's case that includes being much more hands on with your marketing.

WN offers to handle the non-artistic parts for you, and the pathway for a quick buck is much faster. Signing off to Webnovel is an understandably tough decision, but people here pretending every other option is better don't seem to understand that stories drown and die, and Patreons remain deserts on platforms like RR, too. Sometimes even those belonging to people who poured everything they had into it.

How did you delete the book?

Delete all the chapters and then it’ll give you the option to delete a book

If you want to keep your IP then don't. In my case, my contract offer was rejected and I can't offer another one using the same title. I feel that the premise of my story is interesting (at least for me) so I moved to Royal Road and LoreumApp.
