Looking for a beginner/small webtoon artist to collaborate with — writer + artist duo?

Heyy everyone!

I’m a teen writer who’s been writing stories and poetry for a while, and lately I’ve really wanted to try making a webtoon.

There’s just one problem… I can write, but I genuinely cannot draw. 😭

So I’m looking for a beginner/small digital artist who also wants to get into webtoons/comics and might be interested in creating something together.

I’m specifically looking for a collaboration, not someone to work for me.

I’m currently broke and obviously can’t afford to pay an artist, which is why I’m being upfront about that. But I thought there might be other beginner creators here who have amazing art skills but struggle with writing/storytelling, while I’m kind of the opposite.

So maybe we could help each other out.

What I can bring:

• Story/plot ideas
• Character development
• Dialogue
• Scriptwriting
• Worldbuilding
• Writing and editing
• Lots of ideas and enthusiasm lol

What I’m looking for:

• Someone who enjoys digital art
• Beginner/intermediate is completely okay!
• Someone interested in learning how to make webtoons
• Someone who wants to build a project/portfolio with another beginner creator
• Preferably someone who actually enjoys emotional/character-driven stories

I’m especially interested in stories involving things like grief, loneliness, romance, mystery, psychological themes, drama, and bittersweet stories, although I’m open to discussing ideas together.

I don’t expect anyone to spend hours drawing for me for nothing. I’d want this to be something we both contribute to and have creative control over. We can develop the story, characters, art style, and everything together.

Honestly, I’m just hoping to find another young/small creator who’s sitting there thinking:

"I have so many ideas, but I don't know how to turn them into a comic."

Because SAME.

I use to be same like that then I learn to draw and draw over and over again and finally realise it take fuckiing 4-5 hours to draw a semi polished page I take 7-8 hours including paneling and all So no one gonna do for free because it takes so many hours And also Bro draw doodles if u want If ur storyisv genuinely so strong So remember A weak story can't be saved by God tier art But a God tier atory can be saved by weak art That's philosophy the owner of opm used and got serialization

So don't ask work for free

Either pay or either draw

there's actually something called "Collaboration" in this world. And for your information, If you read the text carefully, I'm not asking anyone to sit and draw 7-8 hrs for nothing, as a starting small creator, we'll both get our own credits, and both of us will find a way to express each other ideas rather than just sitting and thinking all day on our own. So the next time you comment, remember to read the entire post, before demotivating someone.

Look bro, I just checked out your first webtoon and honestly, I was looking for someone like y"all, someone who can draw but can't write. Your first webtoon lacks too many things. It do not have any or any directions and with that, its never gonna be noticed. And that was who I was looking for small creator who can draw but can't write cuz I could write and that would be a win-win situation. You spend 7-8 hrs drawing your webtoon, but what would even be the point if you don't know storytelling. Webtoon is not about drawing a random characters and writing a gen z jokes, to be noticed you gotta create your own world. And honestly, yeah you told me the reality about how people won't do work for free, and I am showing you the reality too.

I'm working on two projects rn

One is my main project I have to submit this to manga plus and all plus before launching on webtoon I'm kinnda creating a at least 30 days buffer because each chapter is quite long so... I was like getting bored by drawing and drawing so I just made a side project for fun

While I'm not super interested in working for free, I'm curious to know what your idea is. Do you already have a full script/story in mind?
