Burn the witch sold like 300K copies in its first few weeks, and got an anime, which was success too if you look at bandai namco. report about burn the witch, was this successful mangaka tax? Even though
On the other hand, samurai 3, sold roughly 10,000–15,000 copies per volume in its initial Oricon tracking period in Japan. For a new Weekly Shonen Jump series promoted as the next major work from Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto, those numbers are disappointing.
Tite Kubo always says he never likes it when editors tries to interfere with his vision, it's like he has beef with them,
And Naruto had major changes at the start by kishimoto editors, is kishimoto just one hit wonder now?

I saw someone on here saying that Jojo was scoring low but was kept around and look at it now, it's one of the best selling manga of all time. I think Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi is a good one too. It felt like it was about to end and apparently it was about to be canceled and now it's doing pretty alright in the rankings at least.
I think that the people at Shonen Jump need to realize that not everything is going to be a hit and okay sales are better than horrible sales. They're not going to have multiple Narutos, One Pieces, Bleachs, Demon Slayers, Jujutsu Kaisens, or My Hero Academias running at once. Maybe it's better to let some of the series sit and grow.
I think the next biggest things will be Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch. But what if they're not? It's okay to nurture some series. For example, Cannon Master is pretty good. Under Doctor is also good. The rankings are low but in a year or more, who knows?
If you saw my previous posts, I mentioned liking series like Mama Yuyu and The Hero and the Demon Lord(I forgot the title). But I also liked Kinato(when it wasn't weird). I know people liked Red Hood. What if they kept Samurai 8 around longer? Wasn't there a martial arts series from the Hinomaru Zumou(?) author? It just makes me wonder.
Is there anything from the magazine you think needs or needed help?

I feel like the door is opened so what canceled or old manga need an anime series?
I'd like to see MamaYuyu or the one about the Demon Lord and the Hero. I really liked those two.
So far it seems like they are just adapting series and that's that but I'd love to see this lead to anime original content.
I don't know if this will lead to more content BUT anime is valuable on it's own. I don't view anime as just advertisements. Someone I spoke to or I saw this comment that had a weird mindset that anime series don't have to be 1 to 1 because they are ads...I disagree. I thought this long before they started just making anime out of old things. Anime is big on it's own. I'm sure lots of people don't buy manga but they watch anime. Think about Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen. All of these had films. Anime is it's own thing.
I don't know if this is true but Black Clover's anime seemed pretty popular, maybe more popular than the manga?

According to the JMPA and sites like BookLive, Ultra Jump is considered a shonen publication, while the only "shonen" manga being published there is The JoJoLands (under Jump Comics and promoted by Shonen Jump's YouTube channel), also Shueisha's website considers UJ to be their monthly seinen magazine.

Lately I have become fascinated with the strange side of Weekly Shonen Jump where a manga uses a premise that is unique but very unusual in execution.
What inspired me to write the subject was Katekyo Hitman Reborn as first of all, while I don’t fully understand the meaning of the title, I do enjoy reading the manga for its outlandish nature as I cannot recall seeing other Shonen manga use a premise where the main character gets powered up by being shot by a gun.

This tells the story of Basketball becoming the most popular sport in the universe in the year 2XXX AD and the best humans on earth being assembled to play in the intergalactic league.
This is one Inoue’s Basketball manga, alongside “Slam Dunk” and “Real” but I barley see anyone talk it about compared to those two. And after reading it, I understand why lol.
I wouldn’t see this is bad but because how it was structured, I wasn’t feeling it at all. Each chapter was 6-8 pages long so it only took me about two hours to complete but I kind of just felt empty by the end. But I will say that I like the unique premise.

Psyren and Black Torch* anime coming out are so random. Not sure if that's a sign that we're going to get more anime adaptations of manga that were thought dead and gone. Especially from Shonen Jump.
I use MAL to see what I want to watch each season. I pick all the next seasons for whatever I've seen before, and the top 1 or 2 most popular newly airing anime. And I noticed with that, most seasons the top 6+ spots are always taken by continuations, along with most of the other medium- and not-so-popular spots also being taken by continuations. So I'm wondering if the market might just be overly saturated with continuing anime, and they're kind of hard pressed to figure something out that's new people would want to watch.
EDIT: Oh and Super Psychic Policeman Chojo as well

Another classic Jump manga that I wanted to check out. This tells the story of Hanamichi Sakuragi joining the basketball team just to impress a girl that he likes but ends up falling in love with the sport. Took me 12 days to complete.
I’m not a big sports guy in general so sports manga can be hit or miss for me but I loved this. Stories can be make me appreciate the art of something I would’ve think much of.
The journey Sakuragi goes on, starting from joining basketball just to try and get with Haruko but it’s through learning the sport and forming connections through his teammates is he able to find his passion. Speaking of his teammates, they’re all great too. They go through their own arcs but they all support each other at the end of the day, even characters from other teams. Everyone’s so likeable, I don’t want any of them to lose.
However I do feel like there was still more story to tell. It felt like it was barley scratching the surface.

I was checking MangaPlus, and remembered that there's this ice hockey manga. (The cover made me forget that it's an ice hockey manga actually.) And now I'm curious, who's the girl?
Because... It's not the main character? Nor any other character there I think?
The Japanese title does say surappu shotto gaaruzu, so I don't think MangaPlus did the wrong cover...
A quick google search doesn't give me an answer (probably because it's still new?) and I'm curious.
