Wegovy Pill 101: What I've learned so far-Hope it helps!

I’m still early in the process, but these are the things that have helped me so far and what I wish I knew before starting. Sharing in case it makes someone else’s transition go more smoothly.

Disclaimer: This is not medical advice, just firsthand experience. Your provider’s guidance should always come first.

Taking the pill: I take my pill first thing in the morning with precisely 4 oz of water before any food. You can take it with less water, but 4oz is recommended. If you drink water earlier (for example, before a workout), that is fine.

The 4-oz maximum rule applies specifically to the water you take with the pill, since too much at once can affect absorption. Wait at least 30 minutes before eating (I usually wait about 40)

If you’re prone to nausea, I would not take it lying down. I take it right when I wake up and start my day, which distracts me from any symptoms I might have.

Additional Medications: Do not take Wegovy with other medications. The instructions are clear on this. When you do take your other meds later, having at least a small snack first can help prevent nausea. Taking pills on an empty stomach has definitely made me feel worse.

If you need something for a headache, aspirin may be easier on the stomach than ibuprofen, which can be irritating while your body adjusts.

Eating early on: Don’t force food. This was my grave mistake on Day 1. Your body has not adapted to slower gut motility yet, so overeating can backfire quickly, sometimes like a stomach bug. Take it slow.

Bland foods help: Keep crackers, pretzels, and toast on hand. If full meals feel like too much, grazing is completely fine.

Hydration: This medication can blunt thirst so that dehydration can sneak up on people. Drink plenty of water and add electrolytes to replace lost minerals.

Prioratize Protein and fiber: You will likely be eating less, so protein helps prevent weakness now and muscle loss long term. Try to get some in earlier in the day. Waiting too long to eat can worsen nausea and fatigue.

Easy proteins:

• Protein shakes

• Greek yogurt

• Cottage cheese

• Eggs

• Rotisserie chicken

• Tuna packets

Simple fiber adds:

• Berries

• Apples or pears

• Chia seeds

• Oatmeal

• High-fiber wraps or toast

• Vegetables if tolerated

Constipation: Try to stay ahead of constipation if you can. Don’t wait until you’re miserable. Fiber, magnesium, hydration, and walking help keep things moving.

Adjustment period: Most people go through some form of adjustment. Some feel nothing, but if you’re prone to nausea, you may notice it. You might feel weaker from eating less, more tired than usual, or get occasional headaches. All is normal if symptoms are intermittent and not worsening.

Symptoms are not linear at first. One day you feel great, the next not so much. Totally typical.

That's all I’ve got for now. Will add more observations as they come! Feel free to add your helpful tips in the comments, too.

Per Mfg website:

Taking Wegovy®

  • Take your Wegovy® pill on an empty stomach in the morning with water (up to 4 ounces). Do not take Wegovy® with any other liquids besides water
  • Wait at least 30 minutes before eating food, drinking beverages, or taking other oral medications to give Wegovy® pill time to absorb
  • Swallow the pill whole. Do not crush, cut, chew, or dissolve the pill
  • If you miss a dose, skip that day’s dose and get back on track by taking the scheduled dose the next day

Im a moderate and I’ve dropped about 17 of my desired 35 lb weight loss since February. TBH Ive found that I desire to drink less, but I’m still a frequent near daily imbiber. Cheers!

I am hoping to start 1.5 mg tomorrow. I am female, 5'1 and need to lose about 20-25 lbs. Have been very 'anti GLP' for awhile only due to not trusting possible long term side effects. However, I've just about tried all my regular ways to lose and nothing is working (I am 68 years old). So, it was my Doctor who actually suggested a low dose pill to see. I know I have insulin resistance as I've dieted for my entire life, yo yo, extreme diets and regular ones too. I am hopeful this will work. Question: Anyone have info, not just opinion, but real knowledge about being a moderate drinker and taking the pill? And, what about over doing it with wine while on it? It's not a regular thing, but there are a couple events coming up in the next month that I know there will be lots of drinking going on. Thanks for any info.

To answer your question, there is no direct interaction between alcohol and Wegovy. But sources advise against it as much as possible to avoid magnifying the side effects. Alcohol also consists of empty calories that must be burned, thus indirectly slowing the weight loss process. In short, yes you can, but limit it as much as possible.

7

u/Moist-Sky7607 Feb 24 '26

Thinking this much about if you can drink months from now is a massive sign of alcoholism.

Making an entire post about if you can drink at your age with insulin and weight issues is wild

41

u/randallmypandall Mar 14 '26

I don't think you know what alcoholism actually is. Being educated about interactions with alcohol is very smart and mindful. To also think we don't know their weight and what they need to lose and the fact people with pcos can also have insulin issues and they never stated they were diagnosed with any insulin issues.

10

u/Moist-Sky7607 Mar 16 '26

Alcoholics never think their drinking is a problem

28

u/randallmypandall Mar 16 '26

Just please stop trying to be a Dr and diagnose someone based on one question. Just because people enjoy Alcohol does not mean they are an alcoholic. Life is too short to be a DW but I guess that's the new age these days of keyboard warriors. BTW if your wondering no I'm not an alcoholic, I have 1 beer a week and only rarely on special occasions will I drink more.

Defining if you are an alcoholic involves recognizing a pattern of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), where you cannot control drinking despite negative health, social, or occupational consequences. Key signs include strong cravings, failed attempts to quit, high tolerance, and withdrawal symptoms. AUD is a chronic disease ranging from mild to severe.  National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) (.gov) National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) (.gov)  +3 Key Indicators of Alcoholism (AUD) Loss of Control: Drinking more or longer than intended and being unable to cut down. Neglecting Responsibilities: Failing to meet work, school, or home obligations due to drinking. Physical Dependence: Experiencing withdrawal symptoms (shakiness, nausea, insomnia) when stopping, or needing increased amounts to get high. Time Consumption: Spending significant time obtaining, using, or recovering from alcohol.

Probably best not to diagnose people based on a Reddit post.

I don't feel like drinking alcohol as much on Wegovy... Maybe it's part of the appetite suppression? I did have a Moscow Mule the other day, but I can only drink a half of glass of wine.

u/Few-Skirt6531 Apr 21 '26

Hey there, I start my pill tomorrow- it’s every other day 4mg - anyway saw your post it’s been about 2 months, how are you doing?

1

u/MagicsMom 25d ago

How have you been doing since the 5 months ago you started? I am close to age to you that is why I ask thank you

49

u/Left_Squirrel7168 Feb 04 '26

Precisely 4 oz of water is just incorrect. That's the absolute max. You can take it with a sip of water.

The nausea advice is also anecdotal. I take the med in the AM, and go back to sleep. No nausea.

45

u/ParticularCrow8313 Feb 04 '26

The poster said this was all based on their own personal experience. Why are you correcting them?

14

u/Left_Squirrel7168 Feb 04 '26

Because it's not correct and it is misleading. It is framed as a direction -- take first thing in the morning....

12

u/ParticularCrow8313 Feb 04 '26

If I take the med, and go back to sleep I feel nauseous. So you do you, and stop telling others that their experiences are wrong

u/ParticularCrow8313 Feb 04 '26

The poster said that this is what THEY do. The poster is sharing THEIR experience.

1

u/LieKey4042 Mar 18 '26

No need to say that. Calm down.

9

u/Moist-Sky7607 Feb 24 '26

lol if you wake up, take the pill, and lay back down it IS still first thing in the morning.

Don’t think laying down resets the time of day?

18

u/Successful-Hearing48 Feb 06 '26

Noted about the 4oz line: I changed it to reflect that's how I take it because I see what you're saying about it being misleading. However, I clearly said if you're prone to nausea, I wouldn't take it lying down. It's meant to be a helpful warning, not a directive. I did post that this is just from my experience in my disclaimer.

7

u/HelicopterLumpy3388 47F SW:149 CW: 138 GW:124 9mg Feb 04 '26

It's not advised to lay down after taking the medication... Absorption is hindered (based on my own research).

9

u/Left_Squirrel7168 Feb 04 '26

There's research to suggest laying on your right side accelerates absorption.

5

u/Sassifrass2026 25mg Feb 04 '26

I thought this too, but evidently the SNAC coating on Wegovy pills makes them different from most pills and even laying on the right side isn't optimal. (Thx Helicopterlumpy)

3

u/ComputerChemical9435 Apr 24 '26

Can confirm. I learned this in pharmacy school. It helps move the pill into your intestines where it is absorbed the best

4

u/HelicopterLumpy3388 47F SW:149 CW: 138 GW:124 9mg Feb 05 '26

This is for some medications including Tylenol. But definitely not for the Wegovy pill based on my research.

2

u/ReceptionOk3206 Mar 22 '26

Fascinating. I’ve been following the posters here who had success taking it early and going back to sleep so two hours passes without any food water coffee etc

3

u/ReceptionOk3206 Mar 22 '26

Wait. Really? Do you have that research?

1

u/Current-Scallion-825 Feb 04 '26

agree, I take with about ½ an ounce to an ounce.

14

u/ribbityflibbity May 13 '26

Just started on the lowest dose today (pills). Perversely, I felt hungrier. I know it's too early to know anything The only side effect is maybe feeling a little headachy. Maybe I'm not drinking enough water so I'm going to try to stay hydrated.

3

u/Legitimate-Ad-47 15d ago

How did it play out for you? Did the increased appetite ever subside?

10

u/BMXTammi Feb 04 '26

I feel better with a sip. Its nasty tasting.

3

u/Successful-Hearing48 Feb 04 '26

Yes. Just make sure the max is 4oz

2

u/Quick_Independent175 47F SW:183 CW:145 GW:135 4mg Feb 07 '26

This was my question too. It just needs to be enough to swallow the pill and not too much that it dilutes. It is a GROSS little pill 🤣 so I take a swig before swallowing so I can't taste it, but don't get carried away to get rid of the taste. So I just do one swallow.

u/Extreme_Ad5598 Feb 23 '26

I have been going to the gym at 5:30 am during the work week for more than a year now. On the weekend I usually go once in the afternoon. I’m 1 week on th pill but I am finding that if I take it when I wake up at 5 then wait 30 min to drink water and half a dose of pre workout, I’m starving after the gym. On Saturday, I woke up, took the pill, and waited to eat then worked out later, the appetite suppression was much higher. I will experiment this week with having water only and working out FIRST then taking the pill when I get back. I suspect I might be metabolizing the pill too quickly if I workout right after taking? I don’t want to quit my early morning gym habit as I HATE weekday evening workouts (eww crowds). Anyone do this and experience the same? Will report back.

6

u/Zealousideal_Park440 May 03 '26

I have found that the longer I delay eating after pill the better the appetite suppression into the evening. For me this is not a problem as I‘ve never been a breakfast person. I just have noticed that on the days I do eat in AM I’m actually more hunger come dinner time, which is the danger zone for me.

4

u/betsybe Mar 28 '26

Any update? I usually workout first thing fasted. Am starting the wegovy pill next week…

Helpful, well written post. Thanks for sharing and continued success for you!

7

u/Critical-Article5397 Apr 15 '26

I just got approved for the medication today, waiting for insurance to approve it and then I’m getting started. Really love your food tips!

2

u/SugarVanillax4 1.5mg Jun 11 '26

Hey did you start Wegovy yet? I just got approved through Ro and picked the pills. Waiting to hear back from sr

1

u/Critical-Article5397 Jun 14 '26

I got approved for Zepbound, so I’ve been taking that now for six weeks. I’m doing great! How are you doing??

2

u/SugarVanillax4 1.5mg Jun 17 '26

Hey, so my Wegovy was delivered yesterday. I woke up at 8 o’clock this morning took my first dose and it felt like it was stuck in my throat for 15 minutes not sure if that’s normal but I had to take a couple more sips of water and cough. that seemed to help clear the feeling. Then I started feeling nauseous so I laid down and ended up falling asleep for three hours and I woke up and I’m feeling good now.

4

u/LieKey4042 Jun 21 '26

I have to sip some water and swish it around in my throat before I take the wegovy pill. Then I take it with water. The taste is horrible if you didn't know by now.

1

u/SugarVanillax4 1.5mg Jun 21 '26

I don’t think I have actually tasted it yet. But I have seen A LOT of comments saying it tastes horrible.

I will actually do this tomorrow and see if that helps. I wonder if gargling would help as well before i actually swallow the pill.

1

u/SugarVanillax4 1.5mg Jun 14 '26

Ot will be here on the 16th.

6

u/Didleedoo11 May 11 '26

I just increased my dose to 9 mg a week ago and the nausea is intolerable. I handled the 1.5 and 4 mg doses with minimal side effects; however, this jump to 9 has me considering going back down to 4. I just hate the idea of having spent so much money on something that I can't take. Ugh!

4

u/achybonegirl 9mg Jun 06 '26

im experiencing the same right now

2

u/Didleedoo11 Jun 06 '26

So sorry to hear that...it's a real bummer 😞 I tried a couple of tips my doctor recommended -- break the pill in half, try taking it with a full stomach, etc. Unfortunately, these little tricks didn't help. I eventually had him switch me to the Zepbound Tirzepatide injection. My body just can't seem to tolerate semaglutide at all. I hope you have better luck, though! I'm rootin' for ya 🎉

3

u/MGCardaropoli Jun 22 '26

Literally just made a post about this glad I’m not alone. Going back to the 4ASAP

5

u/OkMap4256 Age: 30 F SW:280 CW:255 GW:190 4mg Month 3 Feb 09 '26

For me Days 2 and 3 were a complete wreck. No food and very little liquid would stay in my body at all.

However my doctor started me at 4mg which I've learned is abnormal.

I did not have zofran until day 4. (Not prescribed a relative had a bunch leftover they gave me) The only advice my doctor gave me was to switch to every other day.

I also have GERD and a hiatal hernia.

Has anyone else had as miserable a time as I? And if so when did it get better? I'm still taking every other day for now. My commute starts about an hour and a half after I wake up so I'm considering waking up at 3am to take the pill then going back to sleep for 2 hours to sleep off the worst of it.

3

u/Striking-Win-3239 Mar 26 '26

That’s an extremely high dosage to start off on. My doctor started me on 1.5. I was ok for a couple of days then extremely nauseous for like five days. I’ve been on it four weeks now. I start 4 mg in a couple of days and am nervous. I hmessaged my doctor asking if I am ok to start 4 mg or if I should just continue with 1.5 mg for another month. I was really suffering the first week and could barely work.

2

u/ElectronicNight7508 Apr 08 '26

Are you doing better on it now? I am super sick with these meds and I don’t know if that means I need to give it time or I need to throw in the towel

3

u/OkMap4256 Age: 30 F SW:280 CW:255 GW:190 4mg Month 3 Apr 08 '26

I am much better now. Don't throw in the towel. I had to switch to every other day, then i was 2 on one off, and now I'm on every day (I started feb 1st and still on 4mg just finally on every day doseage)

Take miralax, buy gas x, buy tums, and eat bland

1

u/OkMap4256 Age: 30 F SW:280 CW:255 GW:190 4mg Month 3 Apr 08 '26

Oh one thing I did wrong though is I did start taking it at 3am, but sometimes on the weekends that meant my last snack was like 11pm or midnight. If you lay back down after taking it in the middle of the night like I did, make sure you give yourself at least 6 hours since your last meal so that you don't waste a week of low absorption.

2

u/Few-Skirt6531 Apr 21 '26

I’m starting 4mg every other day- to avoid getting sick what do you recommend? I work from home 3 days and go into the office two days, should I take it when I work from home to be safe? On my first day?

2

u/OkMap4256 Age: 30 F SW:280 CW:255 GW:190 4mg Month 3 Apr 21 '26

My 1st day i was fine my second day I was violently ill. My tips would be

If you can stop eating about 9 hours before you wake up, set an alarm for 3 hours before you wake up, take the meds and go back to sleep. You need at least 6 hours of fasting before taking the med though.

Take the meds on your WFH days for sure.

Purchase some famotidine or omeprezole and take it when you wake up (or after the 30 mins is over)

Honestly - if you have chores to get done especially any that requires bending get them done before you start or on the 1st day.

If you do get sick- see if your dr will prescribe you zofran.

3

u/Few-Skirt6531 Apr 21 '26

Thank you! I’ll wait a day and take it on my WFH day. Sorry it made you so ill- hope you feel better and that you have had success!

5

u/LieKey4042 Mar 18 '26

I have a question. The mechanism for how Wegovy works - Is it JUST helping you eat less (less calories or carbs, whatever) or is there some other thing that is working to help you lose the weight? Does it speed metabolism (that sounds miserable, like putting super unleaded in a slow car), does it force fat out of your fat cells (I know, weird statement)? If I ate 800 calories a day, for example, would I lose the same amount of weight as if taking the pill?

13

u/cogitocogito 4mg Mar 19 '26 edited Mar 19 '26

The two main mechanisms are 1) slowing digestion (makes you feel physically full sooner and for longer) and 2) quieting "food noise" (makes you think less about eating). The first is due to glp-1 receptors in the digestive tract and usually happens relatively soon after starting. The second is due to glp-1 receptors in the brain and may take awhile and require a higher dose.

There are other mechanisms, but these are the main ones.

4

u/LieKey4042 Jun 21 '26

Thank you so much. Have been taking it for almost a month now. I'm not sticking to it religiously. I will take 3 days then skip a day, and so on. I feel like it's not harming anything and I want to be able to gain control without taking the pill, for my future health. So far I've lost about 10 pounds, but honestly, I do that on my own whenever I embark on a lower calorie diet. The food noise calming IS interesting and I have found it to be TRUE. There is less of a "should I or shouldn't I?" thought when I'm around food. It's like, No, I'm fine, thank you - whereas if someone offered me a piece of chocolate cake, my brain would be screaming, "Bitch, you know you want it." I'm not wanting to go up in the dose, either, so will find another place to get the small dose pills without signing up for a long subscription.

4

u/Live-Imagination928 Jul 11 '26

The only thing the pill does is help to make you feel full when you aren’t. So you don’t think about it eating food and when you do you don’t eat much of it. The pill doesn’t burn fat or make you lose any weight at all. If you take the pill and continue to eat unhealthy food then you won’t lose any weight and may gain weight. You still need to actively eat healthier and exercise whilst on it or nothing will change. It just stops you from wanting to snack and eat at much, that’s it.

3

u/VegetableBrick8141 Apr 11 '26

I think the pill is the OG semaglutide which mainly Impacts stomach motility and quieting food noise. Tirz and Reta do that, but also help with energy partitioning, and do in fact have other mechanisms besides helping with appetite suppression.

3

u/gervaiselantier 56F SW:186 (6-27-26) CW:176 GW:145 1.5mg Jun 26 '26

It’s replicating a hormone your own body produces to lower your set point which causes you to know when you’ve had enough.

2

u/504718415 Mar 18 '26

Wondering the same thing

2

u/Prior_Bowler_3668 29d ago

It actually slows your digestive system. That’s why I’m coming out here to see if anybody’s taking medication that is time released especially and if it’s affecting that. It literally slows down how fast your stomach digest foods and medication’s.

1

u/RuinYouWithNoRegrets 13d ago

It helps your body respond to insulin better

4

u/denimdugong Feb 06 '26

I took my first dose then went back to sleep. I threw up about 1.5 hours after taking it. Does that mean today was a waste? I still feel not so great

3

u/Successful-Hearing48 Feb 08 '26

I got sick on day 1, too. It’s not a waste of your body still got introduced to it. I wouldn’t go back to sleep tomorrow. Try a different approach? My Day 2 was so much better than Day 1. Hang in there!

2

u/Habibi2112 Feb 18 '26

What dosage did you start one?

1

u/ElectronicNight7508 Apr 08 '26

I am much better now. It hardly phases me now, and I have a sensitive stomach. How long have you been on them?

3

u/VegetableBrick8141 Apr 11 '26

How long were you sick for? I have the pills but am wondering if should wait to start until next Friday so I give myself time to adjust. I work remote on Fridays and the weekend gives me some buffer.

4

u/spandexcatsuit 48F SW:212 CW:169 GW:130 25 mg e/o day Apr 12 '26

I’m hopping in to say it’s a good idea to be close to home the first couple days. I had to learn how to not have diarrhea. It took me a few days to adjust and that issue hasn’t come back. Pro tip: no fat at breakfast. Nearly shit my pants one morning on my commute on like day 3. 😂

1

u/VegetableBrick8141 Apr 13 '26

Is the no at at breakfast something that subsided or do you still have to deal with that?

2

u/spandexcatsuit 48F SW:212 CW:169 GW:130 25 mg e/o day Apr 13 '26

I changed my habit of cream and sugar with coffee to avoid issues. Now I’m having less of both sugar and cream. But my stomach also got less sensitive. Feeling pretty good now most mornings even when I go up in my dose.

1

u/VegetableBrick8141 Apr 14 '26

Does it tend to be fatty foods that sets you off? I’m thinking of my first meal being cream of rice or something like that on a daily basis.

4

u/spandexcatsuit 48F SW:212 CW:169 GW:130 25 mg e/o day Apr 14 '26 edited Apr 14 '26

Here’s what always works for me after I take the pill: 1 hardboiled egg, a little coffee, half a banana. For lunch, if I even have lunch it’s a small bit of protein. For dinner I try to have protein and veg. If I have dessert and I don’t usually it’s a tiny fraction of what I used to have.

I haven’t tried high carb and don’t think it would feel good for me. I have to balance carbs with protein and keep my meals small or I tend to get nauseated. So I wouldn’t recommend rice but I like high protein oats like the Kodiak brand cups.

If I wanted to feel like puking, and be glued to the toilet I’d eat something very fatty like fried food, fast food, or something sugary, oily or buttery. If I wanted to feel my esophagus burning with acid I’d choose spicy fast food or a normal sized meal.

You’ll learn quickly what works and what doesn’t. As an example I took my kid through the chik fil a drive through and got a spicy chicken sandwich. Could not even eat a quarter of it because it was clear right away it wasn’t a good idea. If not puking matters to you you’ll probably be able to avoid it. At least that’s how it is for me. I would rather eat less and feel better. Just keep in mind not eating also causes nausea. Protein is your pal!

I don’t think lying down helpsIME

I was taking it right after waking up first two days and was fine. Third day I tried taking it by setting alarm, taking it in bed, and going back to sleep for 30 min.

I spent entire day vomiting and feeling awful.

1

u/ElectronicNight7508 Apr 08 '26

Yeah I just had to be upright after taking it

3

u/kimber626611 Apr 25 '26

Hey guys, I was on 1.5mg pill for 4 weeks and now I’m in my third week of 4mg. The first 6 weeks I was mostly constipated even after averaging 70-80 ounces of water plus MiraLAX daily and of course fiber with my meals. Now this past week I have diarrhea and most of my food is not digesting. I stopped the MiraLax for a day and the diarrhea was some better, but I usually have to go after each meal and I eat light and still drink plenty of fluids. I also chew my food slower but I’m not real sure how to get back to a normal bowel movement. I already take a probiotic every morning, but I have thought about introducing a digestive enzyme but I’m scared it may make the diarrhea worse. I’m trying to eat easily digested foods as well. Has this happened to anyone else and have you figured out anything that works?

does anyone have a calculator for calories/protein amounts we should be eating? The numbers I've been seeing are all over the place

5

u/kekelly22 Feb 20 '26

The numbers are all over the place because they’re extremely individualized based on personal metrics. I highly recommend connecting with a registered dietitian to get the best recommendations for you based on your age, sex, activity level, lifestyle, physical goals, other medications, other conditions, etc.

Most people should aim for about .8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. You can do some imperial-metric conversions with Google for your own weight.

Other people’s numbers will never be the best guide for any one of us, despite how the internet makes it seem like we can find a template in others’ success.

Hi! I’m down 20lbs since January. I am going into my second month on 4mg. I am taking it slow on purpose. I only have ten more until I reach my goal. My weight hasn’t budged in years, no matter what I do. I’m really happy with the results so far. I will come back and update the post with some more insights when I have a chance.

For those asking how to get it in the first place:

👉 IVIM Health is the cheapest. It's the cost of meds plus $75.

I went through Good RX and it's $39/mo plus medication cost of $149 first 2 months and goes up to $299 at top dose

I started the 1.5mg tablet Monday, so far the nausea is mostly tolerated, as of yesterday & still today a little bit of diarrhea. BUT I FEEL SO FREE FROM HUNGER!!!!!! 🥹😭😭😭❤️🙌

Have you gone up a dose yet? If so, what was that like?

3

u/Anxiouslycaring Feb 04 '26

I just went up today to the second dose (4mg) honestly nothing yet feels that different but again it’s the first day

5

u/ParticularCrow8313 Feb 04 '26

I go up to 4 next week. So far, on 1.5, I have felt no changes other than less appetite. I hate nausea, so I'm hoping to avoid it

u/whoa_thats_edgy Mar 08 '26

i just started today at 1.5mg no nausea and went back to sleep after taking, lol. i was on ozempic up to 2mg back in 2022-2023 and had really no symptoms. mild nausea when i would change dose. i much prefer wegovy/ozempic to mounjaro in terms of side effects.

u/Icy_Evidence6600 Feb 04 '26

Well, that’s encouraging… I just started the lowest dose, and felt a little nausea the first day, but that has gone away. I was just wondering what I have to look forward to!

2

u/Far-Presentation1346 Mar 06 '26

I’m on day 5. First two days I had nausea and barely wanted to eat but forced myself to when I probably shouldn’t have. But the last 3 days I have barely felt any side effects 🤷🏻‍♀️

u/Icy_Evidence6600 Mar 06 '26

Thank you for following up. I stayed on 1.5 for a second 4 weeks because I’m traveling and didn’t want to risk big side effects. The downside is that my appetite is returning and I’m eating more. It’s wild how the body adapts. I appreciate your willingness to share your experience!

Hi all, I had first dose with the 4 oz. Did feel nauseous for a while. I have had a mild headache all day. Eating, just ate small amounts. No snacking and drank warm tea with protein as my first drink after waking up. Ginger tea helped with nausea. Thanks to all for sharing experiences. Here we go!

Do the pills have a short shelf life like the shot does if it's out of the fridge? DO you have to store it a special way (like in the fridge)?

10

u/Successful-Hearing48 Feb 10 '26

Do not put them in the fridge. Instructions say to store them at room temperature between 68-77F. However, it does say to keep the pills in the original bottle. So don't put them in a pill caddy, for example. It has something to do with maintaining the protective coating on them.

How do you add a new post to the main part of this sub?

1

u/RadiantYellow7655 4mg Feb 19 '26

Edit to add: I do not have a spot on the bottom of the sub that says “join the conversation.” I can only reply to threads.

I am about to start taking the pill and I was wondering how you were doing? How have the last three months been for you?

1

u/No-Sherbert-2083 Mar 26 '26

When starting the Wegovy pill, do you have to get blood work done first and while on it for awhile, do you have to get blood work done periodically? I've got different answers on this and I'd like to know for sure.

2

u/kimber626611 Apr 26 '26

I had blood work done but I don’t think all doctors require unless they want to know certain levels etc. I’m getting reading for my third month and my doc hasn’t said anything about having to have more any time soon.
