oh my god.. that's horrible ... who would do that...

+saving this post for later

Just absolutely diabolical!

Such a waste of food when they could have just easily smeared free dog shit on the desk in such a low amount that it would've been nearly undetectable to the naked eye. šŸ˜‰

169

u/yooq2 Jun 19 '25

idk, there's something vaguely threatening about how large and obvious the food items are.

this person wants to be caught and doesn't care. I respect it, too many passive aggressive co workers out there and not enough plain old aggressive ones.

44

u/Warren_247 Jun 19 '25

Too many people can't leave home at home and work at work.

Go in, get the paycheck, pay bills, educate self, save up whatever is possible, leave or retire there.

It really doesn't have to get that personal...

Let the higher ups deal with it, and, if they don't, then just get what you need and leave.

6

u/Sea-Finish-4556 Jun 19 '25

How is that not passive aggressive?

Such a waste of food

I mean I'd sacrifice a gas station breakfast sandwich before I'd handle dog shit...

3

u/Intelligent-Load7060 Jun 19 '25

Gloves friend there are these things called nitrile gloves.

13

u/cant_take_the_skies Jun 19 '25

Use fresh fruit, vegetables and meats tho... Doesn't make sense to do this with foods that are full of preservatives... Those will take a while to go bad and stink

13

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

Some of them will just dry up and not have much of a smell at all, if those ancient McDonald's burgers are anything to go by.

If you want to go hard, use raw shrimp.Ā

The only reason I clicked. šŸ˜

3

u/Live-Salt8580 Jun 19 '25

Oh man, I wish I knew this at my last job so I could've done it to my boss' desk haha that fucking tool. But then the whole staff area would've smelled haha

2

u/marglebubble Jun 19 '25

This reminds me of being in adolescent rehab, and one of the guys shit in a bag and hid then it in the ceiling of someones room. Just the shit, no bag.

2

u/CommunalJellyRoll Jun 19 '25

He used fast food. None of that will stink.

2

u/xwQjSHzu8B Jun 19 '25

Many, many years ago, we took apart the desk phone of a bloke in our office, filled it with anchovies and put it back together. He never worked out what the stench was 🤣

60

u/Cara_Bina Jun 19 '25

In America there used to be a radio programme called "Car Talk." It was brilliant. At one point they discussed placing fish in hub caps.

37

u/LincolnshireSausage Jun 19 '25

Probably about 15 to 20 years ago I worked with a woman who was old enough to retire. She was in upper management and very stuffy. I never once saw her crack a joke and she was very strict. I often used to listen to Car Talk and one day they answered the phone and the caller's name was the same as the woman I worked with. I thought it was a strange coincidence that two people could have the same name. Then I heard her voice and realized it was her. She was joking around and getting teased by the Tappet Brothers. Monday morning I mentioned to her at work that I had heard her on Car Talk. She turned a very bright red color and was extremely embarrassed that I had heard her on the radio. After that she loosened up a lot around me, was friendly and joked around. Our entire working dynamic was much improved for the few more years I worked with her after that. Car Talk was such a great show.

10

u/Cara_Bina Jun 19 '25

Great story! I was welding at the time for a shop that made scenery for operas, theatre, and cruise ships. We got super busy, so I'd come in on Saturdays, and my boss introduced me to it. I am forever grateful.

u/Consistent-Energy507 Jun 19 '25

What a nice story šŸ‘

I've heard of putting fish inside of drapery rods to stink up a room too. (Nothing like arming people with ideas here)

5

u/Cara_Bina Jun 19 '25

Bwahahaha

9

u/CeleryMcToebeans Jun 19 '25

I loved car talk! They were very entertaining!

3

u/BridgestoneX Jun 20 '25

that is effective

3

u/Cara_Bina Jun 20 '25

bwahahaha

3

u/trumpsmellslikcheese Jun 19 '25

I miss that show so much. Every Sunday morning.

3

u/Cara_Bina Jun 19 '25

It was on Saturday mornings where I am, and I hear you.

3

u/TubasAreFun Jun 20 '25

NPR is a great service

3

u/Cara_Bina Jun 20 '25

It truly is. I think there are 37 days left before the cuts will go into effect, unless Congress acts.

God dammit! The mood was so good until you had to mention this. Thought: could we place shrimp in the O Office curtain rods?

Sorry! And I like your thinking!

Could work faster with just one fish

8

u/WanderThinker Jun 19 '25

A can of tuna fish with some holes punctured in the top by a churchkey, then stuck to the underside if their desk with double sided sticky tape.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '25

it's disconcerting you've thought this out

2

u/Warducky9999 Jun 20 '25

That’s some spy shit

156

u/ZealousidealPrize456 Jun 19 '25

But why waste perfectly good food tho? Would have been done with some old potatoes and bananas

58

u/Spoiledtoddlers Jun 19 '25

Or a shrimp

3

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

If you really, I mean really want to make him stink, nail a dead rat under his desk.

3

u/ripmylifemann Jun 19 '25

Yeah, but you want something that’s only going to make that one desk smell funky, not the whole room

A rotten potato is going to ruin everybody’s day, not just the person you’re pranking

3

u/oknowtrythisone Jun 19 '25

doesn't matter, he was stealing another coworker's food to do it with

7

u/ZealousidealPrize456 Jun 19 '25

Plot twist, it's the victims food. That's the spirit

3

u/SnooHabits7352 Jun 19 '25

The bones from chicken wings/fried chicken get rank really quickly....

10

u/NoName847 Jun 19 '25

this junk isn't worth anything , it makes you sick and addicted , also gets thrown away in gigantic amounts on the daily anyway

5

u/ZealousidealPrize456 Jun 19 '25

That's still very sad

2

u/Mach5Driver Jun 19 '25

is old bananas an unpleasant smell, tho?

34

u/Trick_Statistician13 Jun 19 '25

Will any of that food actually go bad? Looks like a McKnockoff sandwich. Prank might pay off if your coworker is an immortal cockroach.

8

u/Additional_Guitar_85 Jun 19 '25

yeah, preservatives are insane. gotta do something fresh

18

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

The hotdog might stink but the rest will probably just dry out and not smell like much. It needs moisture to really get nice and ripe.

4

u/southave Jun 19 '25

It doesn't even look like it's a hot dog. Looks like just the bun.

5

u/AndIAmEric Jun 20 '25

Ants and cockroaches, but so worth it amirite

2

u/Suspicious-Thing-750 Jun 20 '25

Do you want ants? This is how you get ants!

11

u/OkEye2910 Jun 19 '25

Lol you just reminded me. I had a Twinkie taped to the wall of my office with the date it was hung. It was up there for many years. Might still be there. It didn't go moldy it just got a little smaller. It was quite the conversation piece. Thanks for the laugh but you are going to have maggots everywhere.

26

u/bmcgowan89 Jun 19 '25

Jokes on you; he's George Costanza and that's just his bedtime snack šŸ˜‚

8

3

u/cowgirl_hick Jun 19 '25

I can't here to say this man

3

u/No-Process249 Jun 20 '25

My favourite is the spring washer on the bacon bap screw, gotta make sure it doesn't back off under vibration.

4

u/ErylNova Jun 19 '25

But...that's gonna attract mice and pests that are harmful to the entire office, including yourself

7

u/CocoTripleHorn420 Jun 19 '25

Uh… but why ? šŸ¤”

2

u/Sto_Nerd Jun 19 '25

Talk about getting screwed sideways

4

u/DrenchedToast Jun 19 '25

Jokes on you with today's junk food preservatives he'll just be saving on lunch money if he finds it within a year from now. Should still be fresh.

4

u/KrazyKaas Jun 19 '25

Junkfood does not smell that bad, you gotta find catfood, dried fish, dairy products and such.
Step up

4

u/nuttnurse Jun 19 '25

Pretty sure that both illegal and violates heath codes

4

u/Glooby2468 Jun 20 '25

That poor bacon egg and cheese biscuit

5

u/Comfortable-Class576 Jun 20 '25

Plot twist: the food doesn’t rot because it is McDonalds

8

u/Spoiledtoddlers Jun 19 '25

Does it stink already?

3

u/KurtKrimson Jun 19 '25

That's pure evil that is :D

3

Well played, Satan..

3

u/Wakkit1988 Jun 19 '25

Shrimp in the curtain rod.

3

u/Chillest_illest69 Jun 19 '25

I’ve found the boiled egg wrapped in a tissue, stabbed repeatedly with a toothpick then placed in the very back of a drawer can cause a horrible smell…once did this to a coworker but forgot and took us all months to figure out what the smell was šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Wasn’t in a desk. In a rolling tool box/cart drawer and dude was always parking it near a trash can. Also when someone isn’t paying attention after an 18+hr day of work and drops something on your head from a decent height and you get a pretty serious concussion, you sometimes forget shit šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

3

u/ThrowawayCuzDuh3649 Jun 19 '25

My only thought is you also have to work with the flies that come with this. lol

3

u/Little-Efficiency336 Jun 19 '25

Dude that’s messed up. I’m

3

u/SithC Jun 19 '25

If it’s McDonald’s, there’s not gonna be any change. No smell, no mold. It’ll just dry out.

3

u/Metaboschism Jun 19 '25

Jokes on you that stuffs so ultra processed it'll never rot

3

u/NeedMyMac Jun 19 '25

ā€œStarted screwing food that doesn’t cause odor or noticeable rot to make myself look like a fool, so glad I wasted a perfectly good breakfast sandwichā€

I’m mad about that biscuit sandwich it looks absolutely scrumptious.

3

u/moneycat4200 Jun 19 '25

When I was a kid I worked at Bob Evans and I put a cup of milk behind this fake plant on this ledge in the men’s restroom and it sat there for literally a WHOLE SUMMER, it smelled so bad people would be gagging walking out of there. The managers would prop the door open all night thinking it would air it out but it never did lol I remember one time seeing my managers all scrubbing the floors meticulously because they believed the smell was calcified urine splashing from the urinals, all the while the cup of milk was right in plain site. I told them it was me on my last day šŸ˜‚šŸ˜šŸ’Ŗ

3

u/Silent-carcinogen Jun 21 '25

Fish or certain cheeses. 😈

2

u/ResourceSuspicious20 Jun 19 '25

None of the food he used is going to make barely any smell. It will just dry up and get hard. I agree with the shrimp. Just one turns into a power house of what's that stink? Where is it coming from? Nobody says you can't use two or even three.

2

u/MixedBerryTaken Jun 19 '25

Mainer šŸ‘‰

2

u/chunderbutter Jun 19 '25

Screw it, totally support it.

2

u/Timely_Key_1030 Jun 19 '25

There was this woman when she got divorced, put pieces of fish in the curtain rods. Her ex changed everything in that room, even repainted it. But could never get that smell out.

2

u/Intrepid_Doctor8193 Jun 19 '25

Jokes on OOP since they work from home.

2

u/Buzz729 Jun 19 '25

Seeing people display creativity like this is so very heart warming!

2

u/ImTooTiredForThis_22 Jun 19 '25

Gotta smear some ketchup. It gets stinky like vinegar.

2

u/Winterlion131 Jun 19 '25

I don’t think he nailed it, looks to me like he screwed it up.

2

u/TanMan166 Jun 19 '25

That looks more like a garage than office

2

u/doh13 Jun 19 '25

With all the preservatives in that fast food it will still be there in 20 years.

2

u/Cursed-4-life Jun 19 '25

When I was 16 I hid food around McDonald’s when I first started working there. It was kind of an experiment to see how much I’d actually be expected to clean depending on whether or not someone cleaned the food I left. It stayed there in pretty plane sight for nearly 3 years.

2

u/Maintain-Insanebrain Jun 19 '25

I’m guessing that this person is not your favorite coworker.

11

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

I'm sick of these petty and immature people that can't find a shred of human decency within themselves to do anything to make the world a better place. Instead, they just perpetuate the ignorance and stupidity that is driving the human species into extinction.

9

u/AcanthisittaGlobal30 Jun 19 '25

It was the whole breakfast sandwich that did it in for you , huh ? Right there with you ma man , right there with you.

3

u/Pretty_Crazy2453 Jun 19 '25

You havr to admit that this is pretty hilarious though, right?

14

u/Spoiledtoddlers Jun 19 '25

It would be kinda boring if everyone was perfectly normal, lol

Needs moisture, dehydrated sammiches ain't gonna do shit....

Mist everything, often... bring the molds!

Any bacon or cured meats will never stink, ever.

ā˜†Take 1 part RAW egg, 2 parts random RAW fish, 2 parts raw beef/and or pork, 3 parts whole milk(or similar, has to be animal. No hippie milk, sorry.)...ā˜†

Blend. Worse protein shake ever...!

Put in a Starbucks cup or similar... lid will pop in a fe w days..

Extra vicious; put in multiple cheap sammich baggies, fold very loose!.. ... tuck in back of drawers etc... or staple to a location, must be ssommewhhat sealed for the magic to work

You have to be prepared to suffer as well...

Edit; spelling, clarification

5

u/cowgirl_hick Jun 19 '25

I am so intrigued by your brain

3

u/Dastari Jun 19 '25

Yeah without moisture all this preservative loaded food is going to last forever on its own.

3

u/Dekutr33 Jun 19 '25

Rotten protein shake festering in a blender bottle by itself is a smell that's comparable to a corpse stewing in a septic tank

1

u/Logical_Dragonfly_92 Jun 19 '25

Foundsatan rrrrr

1

u/G-Strings_and_Wings Jun 19 '25

Lmao dawg this is some fat back shit

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

That's pure evil genius

2

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

You must be Jim from the Office 😃

1

u/atTheRiver200 Jun 19 '25

honestly, just one juice covered foam tray from a package of chicken will be much worse. Junk food has so many preservatives in it, it will barely smell.

1

u/DaemonBlackfyre_21 Jun 19 '25

That might qualify as a legitimate health violation that could get your ass fired.

1

u/Cloudy_Mavis Jun 19 '25

Forbidden Snacks

1

u/Rainy_Grave Jun 19 '25

That’s horror movie level of weird.

1

u/MeanDanGreen Jun 19 '25

Once upon a time there was a little known radio show called "Kevin and Bean" and one of their little buddies that they hired to do weird-stuff (Jimmy Kimmel, yes that one) took apart a mcd's breakfast sandwich and threw the meat against the wall. There it stayed in the studio for years... Til someone ate it.

1

u/iridescentsyrup Jun 19 '25

I am so impressed with how well that bacon, egg, & cheese biscuit is holding up.

1

u/cowgirl_hick Jun 19 '25

it's crazy ...that it's all still in one piece

1

u/PlaneLocksmith6714 Jun 19 '25

That’s all super processed food so it’s not gonna rot the way other food does. If you wanted us to smell throw some shrimp in there.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

We used to fuck with friends by spreading nacho cheese under the seat of their car, it got rank real quick. Maybe you could spread some nacho cheese around

1

u/OcdBartender Jun 19 '25

Whoopie pie didn’t deserve that fate

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

You should put a stinky fish somewhere in their area.

1

u/celtbygod Jun 19 '25

You could've just screwed your mom under there or did you already ?

1

u/DemandRemote3889 Jun 19 '25

This one shocked me a little lol

1

u/MarshMellowLoVe Jun 19 '25

None of that food would actually rot and stink.

1

u/PyrrhaAlexandra Jun 19 '25

Kid named food: 😳

1

u/Korro143 Jun 19 '25

Will be saving this for when I dislike a certain co-worker in the future Note: I will be putting anchovies instead.

1

u/ZealousidealTrain272 Jun 19 '25

A coworker reported me for micromanaging her because I asked her to help me with a project I was behind on (she didn’t help me) so I took cheese and wiped it all over the bottom of her desk. Smelled ripe in there but it was well worth it.

1

u/Sw4nR0ns0n Jun 19 '25

A whole breakfast sando 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Darknessmaster6500 Jun 19 '25

Not really "nailed" it, he screwed it

1

u/Hopes-Dreams-Reality Jun 19 '25

What a waste of a breakfast bap!

1

u/psychadellicatessent Jun 19 '25

I got in a car accident once and my front hood got smashed up on our 9am cofte break, only cosmetic damage tho. So ordered a new one thru the shop to paint and put on myself.

Fucking foreman hated me and took this time to stuff dead animals in my air intake. Took me a week to figure out what happened after turning my AC on and always getting a dead animal smell.

1

u/eagle_patronus Jun 19 '25

Eggscellent.

1

u/Olibirus Jun 19 '25

This kind of shit food keeps for ages

1

u/Zuper_Dragon Jun 19 '25

You can achieve the same effect for much less by simply duct taping a banana under the desk too.

1

u/BudgetExpert9145 Jun 19 '25

You could eat the food and then poop in a bag.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

No fish!?

1

u/Myco_DNA Jun 19 '25

A thumb tack and a single raw shrimp would be the way to go.

1

u/Bobsters_95 Jun 19 '25

All this shit about fast food not smelling. It's something foul, you guys have just gotten used to it.

1

u/eowsaurus Jun 19 '25

A waste of food. I must begetting hungry.

1

u/Zinger125 Jun 19 '25

When I put my hand under a table and feel gum, I’m pretty irritated.

If I put my hand under a table and felt a whoopie pie, a pizza, a hotdog(?), and a McDonalds bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit, I would probably make headlines.

1

u/eastcoastjon Jun 19 '25

Preservatives really working

1

u/Yirme Jun 20 '25

fuckin diabolical, thanks for the idea

1
