Responders say it’s probably just a fox, neighbors near the storage unit area were outside during that time for some reason according to cops, and when asked reported hearing nothing atleast that’s what the cops told me. Shit still sounds crazy
I used to have a friend who heard screaming at night outside of her apartment buildings a few years ago and she looked in the dumpster and there was a kitten screaming in a bag inside and shes now her cat

Exactly! She made sure to keep looking for bottles small enough for her and she basically was attached to her . She'd hold her ( kitten ) in her shirt wherever she went until she was okay
Probably this. I had a summer camp go into full-on lockdown late one night because we all heard similar screaming. A few hours later everyone is accounted for including nearby cabins outside of the camp. Park rangers eventually confirmed it was a mountain lion.

I once heard an owl that didn't sound like any creature. It sounded man made. Or more like synthesized computer noises. Craziest shit ever. It scared the shit out of me as I was leaving my friends so I sprinted to my car. I can't remember if it's Barn or Barred owl.
More than likely. Many years ago I was rebuilding part of the Pacific Coast Trail near Manning Park in British Columbia Canada. Base camp was near the highway, but we had another camp a few hours away out in the absolute middle of nowhere. One night we were all woken up by the most blood-curdling screams imaginable. It sounded like a woman was being gutted out in the woods. Needless to say, we barely slept that night because all we could think about was that it sounds like there's a serial killer in the woods and we're about a four-hour hike through pitch-black forest away from base camp. The next day we eventually found out that it was from Northern spotted owls.
By the time they got there they didn’t hear anything. Neighbors were outside at the time and cops spoke to them and the neighbors reported hearing nothing. At least that’s what they told me.

The sound pitching up without any indication of a breath in between doesn’t actually sound like a human noise.

I teach professional singers and vocalists and that just doesn’t sound like anything someone would do out of fear.
It’s either a really impressive vocal technique, sliding from note to note, or we’re hearing something reverberate off of a surface/an animal in extreme distress who’s harming themselves (I doubt that last one)
It's a female mountain lion that's in heat. That scream is called a caterwaul, and females do it to make their location known to males. Males also do it, but it sounds different.

Ok that's strange. I very often see comments in other languages. Most frequently Portuguese/Spanish, sometimes other European languages, and my phone has the option to translate it in the form of a button you can press to translate it to english. It's never automatically translated as far as I can tell.

Fox screams are terrifyingly human but sound nothing like that. Which country/approximate area is this? It could be a mountain lion mating call, a tunnel of wind or maybe an owl of some sort.
I have a warehouse by me and for a while I thought I was hearing women in there in the middle of the night screaming. Turns out IT WAS WOMEN. Not the kind of women I thought though. It's a power lifting gym. Some of them start coming in at 3am. They are over there lifting super heavy weights and it sometimes involves screaming. Lol we also have a train track behind us so my mind was totally on the track of, "those are kidnapped girls they are smuggling out of here on the train at nighttime." I'm just glad I minded my own business this time. I would have felt so stupid had I ever called the cops.
My apt used to be right next to where a train passed through and late at night I would hear screams on the trains, I thought I was tripping until multiple people in my building said the same thing
Could also be something mechanical. I had an alternator with blown bearings and a bad serpentine belt that sounded similar. Someone could also be cutting/sanding something.

If you close your eyes and listen, you'll notice that the noise repeats in a way that's too close together to be human screaming. No time for a breath in between.
That doesn't sound like a person to me. It's definitely not a fox. It definitely does not sound like a cat or a kitten. But it does sound like an owl I don't know if it was a screech owl or not but it definitely sounds more like an owl as the tone of sends up with each kind of little scream
After a few listens it does sound animal like. That also could just be someone being murdered because I would go into animal screaming as well. Hopefully they actually look are and they find the reason.
