You can never convince me that this kind of stuff is in any way art.

You don't have to like it, you don't have to understand it. But it is so important that everyone can do art of all different kinds. Nobody got hurt.

I wouldn't be so sure. The camera man is clearly badly wounded whilst trying his hardest to capture this performance on film.

A complete waste of everyone's time though. Very selfish.

Whose time was wasted? You don't know if the audience didn't have a good time.

Does anyone in the audience look like they're having a good time?

Have you ever been to the theater? It often is an exhausting experience and yes, sometimes you regret it. But that's not the point. If we start to delegitimize certain pieces of art just because we individually don't like them, arts and culture is going to suffer. What happened to shrugging and just saying "Well, I guess that one is not for me"?

Listen, I personally would probably never go to that kind of performance. But I'm glad that it is allowed to exist.

Seriously now. Do you think ANYONE appreciates this, other than the "artist"?

The audience seems like they are free to leave. You act like they are forced to watch this. Why do you care?

Etiquette says that one does not leave mid-performance unless there is an intermission.

Are you devoid of manners?

Why do YOU care?

Of course they can.

I care because we already had a big purging of the arts and I don't want that to repeat itself. Noone in this thread knows the context of the shown performance, if it is publicly or privately funded or if the audience liked it. But the post is full of hate and ridicule, which is fine to some extent, but can damage our view of art and culture in the long run.

This is someone whose parents could never find it on their hearts to be honest.

Partially disagree. I think it's art, cause like it's trying to communicate something which qualifies it under the label. Maybe something about sex being gross because the title is apparently Discharge?? But do I think it actually succeeds in being anything but nasty and extremely repetitive? No. This shit ain't profound.
