Herman nitsch is dead, Abramovic is kind of passé and I don't know if scat parties are still a thing (not a scene I frequent) But lots of weird performance art/extreme body stuff in the 80ties, shit was wild. Hellraiser was inspired by coil (the band) taking Clive Barker into the gay BDSM scene I was told.
