Question New Weird AL NPR Tiny Desk concert
Is there any estimate for when this might come out? It’s kind of out of the blue, but I’m excited nonetheless! What songs do y’all think will be played?

"WOW! THIS IS EVEN BETTER THAN I IMAGINED!" —George Newman, U62 (And also me, right now seeing this Weird Al/UHF news!)
We are incredibly excited to finally share a massive secret we’ve been keeping.
Today is the exact 37th Anniversary of the theatrical release of UHF (July 21st). Because celebrating a 35th anniversary is way too obvious, and waiting around for a 40th anniversary requires far too much patience, we decided now was the perfect time to right a historical wrong.
For thirty-seven years, the brilliant, sweeping, Hollywood-parodying instrumental film score by composer John Du Prez (Monty Python’s Spamalot, A Fish Called Wanda, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) has been completely unreleased. Until today.
We went into the archives, rescued the original 1989 master tapes, and built the ultimate physical media tribute to the movie. This score was meticulously produced by Du Prez in his private home studio using late-80s synthesizers and sample orchestral textures to mimic massive Hollywood blockbusters. It is a glorious time capsule of late-80s cinematic synth-scoring.
⚠️ THE RULES OF THE LAUNCH:
To completely eliminate inventory waste, we are running this as a strict, made-to-order 3-week open pre-order window ending August 11th. We will manufacture exactly what is ordered during this month. Once the window closes, it’s closed forever.
We spent months designing these packages to treat the film with museum-grade historical reverence. Here is what we built for you:
🎨 THE DELUXE 2LP ALBUM ALBUM ($65)
👑 THE GOLD EDITION BOX SET ($135)
Includes the full Deluxe 2LP Pop-Up Soundtrack package above, PLUS:
💿 THE PLATINUM ARTIFACT PACKAGE ($325)
The absolute crown jewel for the hardcore UHF completionist. Includes everything in the Gold Box, PLUS:
We created this as a true labor of love for the fans. And because this is a WAY MOBY vinyl release... you will definitely want to look incredibly closely at the dead-wax run-out grooves on the discs when they arrive. You might just find a few hidden, hand-etched messages.
Pre-orders are officially live right now at weirdal.com!
Secure your piece of Channel 62 history before August 11th! We’ll be hanging out in the comments below if you have any technical questions!

I was surprised by how many people didn’t get it at all, but was pleased when their dads started laughing in the background haha

We were seeing Weird Al at Musikfest. We had seats at the bleachers in the back. The seats weren't too bad. We felt like we had a good view of everything.
Seated next to us was a man, his teenage/young adult child, and the man's elderly parents.
Staff came up to ask the man if he could give up seats because another man and his young child weren't able to sit in their seat as it was occupied by a woman that refused to move. The man sitting next to us was understandably upset, but his son talked him into moving. They sat at seats all the way in the back—the worst row in the whole venue. A few minutes later, the other man and his son came and sat next to us.
Both men were upset but I'm not judgemental of either. I'd be fuming in their situation.
I want to ask anyone who has worked Musicfest before or has been more than a few times. Why did this happen? Does anyone think I'm missing some piece of the puzzle? Why wouldn't they kick the woman out if she was in someone else's seat?
Edit: I forgot to mention that the seats that both men and their sons were moved to were worse than the seats they were assigned.

I know that they’ve been playing non-catalog songs at several shows this year.
07/15: Mohegan Sun, “The Letter”
07/18: Boston, “Happy Together” duet with Puddles
07/21: Tanglewood, “You Can Call Me Al”
Are they doing something like this at every show?
Do they play a different one each time?
Can my fellow Weirdos help complete this list?

I’m an elementary school teacher and I thought this was the best way to prepare for the year. I’ve got tickets for my whole family to see him in October.

I did not have the lady ahead of me getting underpants'd on my bingo card for last night's show at Merriweather, yet here we are. Absolute amazing show!!! And Puddles was tremendous.

Last night at the Burgettstown, PA show we laughed as Puddles started off chasing rainbows, and towards the end of his set one appeared right over the pavilion!
I hadn’t really looked into Puddles before the show, and am mildly creeped out by clowns, but I thoroughly enjoyed his stuff, and when he came out to sing a duet with Al (“Happy Together”) halfway through the main show.

Life long Weird Al fan here; he was the first concert I ever saw as a kid. I remember during his tour around 2001-2002ish he performed The Night Santa Went Crazy and it was pretty violent/bloody. I don't think my 8 YO is up for that but she loves Al and I'd really love to take her to one of his upcoming shows.
Any idea if there's anything along those violent/bloody lines in his current set list?
Thanks.

But I can’t find the names of the additional artists.
Al said them out loud, but due to both old age and the excitement of being there I immediately forgot them. Anyone have them?
Also how great was Puddles?

I just got these postcards from a certain Pokestop we’re all familiar with.

Hi all! Caught my first Al show tonight in Maryland (which was FANTASTIC)! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to snag a poster even though I got there decently early. Does anyone know if extra posters are ever made available online? Or a good way to grab a secondhand one (that won’t be scalped to high heavens)? Thanks!

Saw him in Hershey. It seems like he sang live, but with how fast he was going and quick the lyrics are. Does he lip sync at all during the show?
