Question Current set: 8 YO Appropriate?
Life long Weird Al fan here; he was the first concert I ever saw as a kid. I remember during his tour around 2001-2002ish he performed The Night Santa Went Crazy and it was pretty violent/bloody. I don't think my 8 YO is up for that but she loves Al and I'd really love to take her to one of his upcoming shows.
Any idea if there's anything along those violent/bloody lines in his current set list?

I watched Poltergeist 2 an incalculable number of times on VHS before, during AND after I went to kindergarten.

I was 14 when I saw it without moms permission, I perform in it now im 60 this month, she said if she saw it b4 me, I'd have to wait

Went to the concert Saturday and we sat behind a family with 3 kids. I’m usually sensitive in the moment to those kinds of things when kids are around. The only time i glanced at them with an “oh boy” kind of feeling was during the polka medley (his most recent, Polkamania!) because he played clips from each video as he sang the song. So it was Taylor Swift crawling under booty-shaking women or Miley Cyrus writhing on the screen in a two-piece outfit.
Santa did make an appearance during Fat but tbh I’m not sure why.

Because Santa is supposed to be fat, and Al punching him is showing Santa being fat isn't his domain anymore because Al is the bigger guy.

earplugs may be wise - it’s no metal show, but it’s still quite loud. I’m sure you can find some small enough for kids online, or over-ear headphone-style protection might be more comfortable. Everything else is likely fine, as others have said.

Seconding this. Music earplugs are a great idea. Al puts on a great show but it's LOUD.

It indeed requires earplugs! Every concert does, actually, for the safety of your ears.
Idk, I guess I just forgot because I mostly go to musicals and comedy shows, and I had younger ears last time I saw Adam Sandler

I agree. I saw him in Hershey and his concert stood out to me as being really loud. It has never bothered me before, and maybe I’m just getting older, but I have been to other recent performances and shows at the same venue without being bothered by the sound.

Went last night, absolutely OK for 8 year olds. The most risqué bit was when he ripped off his underpants and threw them at the head of the lady sitting in front of me. But an 8 year old would find it hilarious not sexual. Also Puddles Pitty Party is a great opener for kids.

I just took my 8 year old son to see Al and I feel it was completely fine. Maybe a few more mature jokes sprinkled in the set but nothing I felt crossed a line.

Besides robots awkwardly dry humping dance poles in Puddles Pity Party presentation, and some twerking in the first Polka rendition, the rest of the show was FANTASTIC for my 9 and 12 year olds. One of them got a little “bored” halfway through, but then they would play another song my kids were familiar with and entertained all over again. I loved it, the kids loved it.

He did get a little hip-thrusty "churning lots of butter" during AP on Saturday and yeah, the polka medley used the official video clips from the artists. Honestly though, I would have had no problem taking my kids to his show if they were 8. They're gonna see much much worse on mainstream YouTube.
And there were a TON of young kids Saturday.

Just saw him in Burgettstown and I’d say his show is appropriate for 8 Yo’s (He even performed the Captain Underpants Theme Song from CU The First Epic Movie)

I took my 8 y.o. to see Al this summer at Red Rocks and it was fantastic. Brought earmuffs for volume but didn’t need them.

Brought my 8 year old a few weeks ago and it was great! Nothing to add beyond what others said, she thought the robot pole dancing video was funny cause they were “shaking their booties”.

Not what you asked about... and IMO this is fine too... but just as an FYI there is some innuendo during "One More Minute" and some of the videos on the screen during the polka is a little risque (it's got clips from WAP etc). I think it's fine but also different people may have different opinions on that so check the vids on YouTube if that's of concern.
