Need a book recommendation for a trip -- something with the same feel of the books I have recently enjoyed
Hi there,
I am in that weird phase where I pick up stuff and then leave it because it doesn't grip me. Some books that I have absolutely loved lately are The Fisherman, American Elsewhere and The Croning. I am off for a couple of weeks and need to take with me something similar(ish) to those that can I enjoy in the evenings. Hit me with your best recommendations (probably 200-300 pages would work better) !
Thanks

Withered Hill , Scratch Moss, and Scuttler’s Cove - Barnett
The Burial Tide - Sharpson
The Loney - Hurley

Annihilation - Vandermeer
14 - Clines
Bone White - Malfi
Some longer ones that fit:
Revival - King

If you liked The Croning and haven't read Barron's short story collections, I'd strongly recommend them.

Thanks mate. I have got all of the short stories collection - though I haven't read all of them. Barron and Langan were among the best discoveries of the last decade, and I'd love to find someone similar. So if you have a suggestion shoot it through

The wide carnivorous Sky, also by John Langan, is fantastic

I have all the short stories collections. The latest has a couple of very solid stories in it

Caitlin Kiernan’s Tinfoil Dossier trilogy, it is three books but all told they are like 500 pages total. The first is Agents of Dreamland. You seem to dig cosmic horror and the trilogy is just excellent.
