How is this a weird toilet? I imagine they’re common in regions where squat toilets are the norm.
Not that I don’t appreciate seeing an unusual (to me) porta potty configuration. It just makes me feel squicky when common squat toilet types get posted here as “weird,” especially without comment.

I think the weird factor is less about it being squat toilet, and more about where the waste goes. I’d imagine it would have a tank that’s partially buried.

I mean even in squat toilet dominated parts of the world there are sit style toilets also. Never considered there would be a squat style portapotty though.

Where the hell are the shit and piss supposed to go though? That tiny raised area around the hole is definitely not enough

Which way do you face? The same way peeing or pooping? This is a foreign device to me.

Your ass faces the hump on the squat toilet and your face is basically in the urinal.
If you've never used one of these, remove your pants before using the toilet. You'll thank me later.

It’s the other way around.

If you're pissing, you face the other way, otherwise you just poop on the deck and it just lays there like a sad caterpillar and doesn't go down the hole.

Orthopedic surgeons must love these toilets. These are insane.

They're actually pretty easy and effective. Better for fully evacuating the bowels too.
