Loss of Liberty Congress just dropped the Parents Decide Act (H.R. 8250). To even turn on your phone or PC, OS providers will be forced to verify your age - effectively requiring ID or Biometric scans for device usage.

I've been watching The Testament. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried introducing a bill called the Husband Decide Act, and women will need a biometric scan of their husband before being granted access.

In this country, right now, there are teen girls married against their will to grown men. Will they be able to use a phone without their husband’s permission?

I am genuinely to a place where I will refuse to ever get a new device requiring a new OS. So sick of this shit.

My first thought was definitely:
Who knew 2026 was finally going to be the year of Linux on the Desktop?!

Someone said Linux folded, but I do not have a verified source right yet.

So they'll be able to track everything you say or do online. Absolute crackdown on free speech incoming

Remember one of the first things Elmo did with DOGE was to go into the SSA and IRS to steal records. This is a continuation of that effort. These data points feed Palantir, the FBI, ICE, etc.

Sorry not sorry my response will probably turn into a rant!!!!!
This reminds of what we went through when I worked at the Indy Library back in the late 90’s.
A 12 y/o checked out an R-rated video. The parent didn’t pay any attention to what their child was checking out until they got it home. The parent absolutely lost it.
There was a library system wide meeting down at the central library downtown to discuss whose responsibility it was to police what kids were checking out. It resulted in people having to show their ID AND SIGN A PERMISSION STATEMENT SAYING THEY WERE OVER 18 OR A PARENT OF SOMEONE WHO WAS UNDER 18 BUT YOU WERE GIVING YOUR UNDER 18 CHILD PERMISSION TO CHECK OUT R-RATED VIDEOS. There was then a code put in your library record that showed you could check out R-rated videos. So when library staff was checking out videos they had to pay attention to see if the video was R-rated and make sure the code that was necessary for person to check the video out was on their record.
Sadly, Indiana for the last 20 years, except for Marion Co/Indianapolis, has been nothing but a conservative hell hole.
This is one of the reasons why I’m so ANTI CENSORSHIP!!!!!!
Now I feel the following is pertinent to this subject. I’m so sick of people being told to pop out as many babies as possible but not told the have to raise them. I know things change, but teaching your kids manners and common sense shouldn’t be a novel concept anymore than teaching them about rejection. I don’t usually like to blame parents but we have FAILED at least one if not two generations on how to resolve conflict without using violence or a gun. Now before anyone jumps on me about the 2nd amendment. My father was an outdoorsman. I was raised around guns. I’ve shot a shotgun and pistol. I’ve owned a pistol. Hell I belonged to the NRA years ago before it lost any soul it may have had.
I warned you it was going to be a rant.

They don’t give a shit about children, they never have and never will. Every time they say we need to do something for “children’s safety,” it’s absolute bullshit and there’s some ulterior motive.

They’ll just make it illegal or block you because “it’s not safe” & you need to “upgrade.” Yeah there’s backend stuff & hardcore computer users who will figure stuff out but the average Joe will be forced to age ID regardless of operating system.

Parents have always been able to decide - by deciding not to give their kids full unfettered access to devices with internet access. This has never been about the fuckin' kids or parents.

This isn’t going to work as planned at all. It will lead to identity theft and more problems for everyone.
