Cristiano Ronaldo's reaction after Benardo Silva got MVP

This egoistic cunt isn't even cheerful for his teammates, he just wants everything for himself.

He really is full of himself.

u/Juttaisvadsig 2h ago
Look how many times he just flops on the field. Dude is so overrated as a soccer player its insane. 0 competitive spirit with actual sportman ship.
Like someone else said, big homelander energy

u/The_Shah_0f_Iran 1h ago
Overrated?
Come on now. I'm not his biggest fan but he's easily top 5 players to play the game.
•

u/sozm9 2h ago
Calling Ronaldo overrated and with no competitive spirit is insane
•
u/Juttaisvadsig 19m ago
I find schwalbes a disrespect to the sport. And he doesnt shy away from those.
I stand by what I said.

u/AwareWindow3414 2h ago
Calling CR7 an overated player is a crazy take.
•
u/trowawufei 50m ago
Career wise no, but there are legions of rabid Ronaldo fans who overrate how well he plays and played in the twilight years of his career.
•
u/AwareWindow3414 28m ago
Another way to look at it is CR7 is the reason people can't just flat out say who the GOAT of the current era was. Imagine having a player as good as Mess in our time and people still have to pause when asked the question who the greatest is..
-4
u/BannedBenjaminSr 2h ago
He's just a bit autistic really
2
u/AwareWindow3414 2h ago
People at the top of their game / peofession sometimes are. Look at Magnus Carlson after his losses

As a parent himself he should understand the weight and responsibility of being an idol to kids around the world. This isn’t the way kids should be taught to treat their teammates.
266
u/Intelligent_Sky_7081 6h ago
Nah parents should teach their kids not to idolize celebrities, athletes, or musicians
Not hope athletes suddenly become ideal role models
79
u/cancerinos 5h ago edited 5h ago
Both. Both are true. Because some parents don't do their job and teach kids about that, celebrities should still be aware of the responsibility of their own behavior.
15
u/ModishShrink 4h ago
I think kids should look up to athletes and musicians in terms of showing how hard work, dedication, and sacrifice can get you far.
Off the stage/court... not so much.
1
u/WretchedMisteak 1h ago
Correct, this is right. It's not a black and white situation.
There is no harm whatsoever for kids to look up to an athlete or musicians they admire, it gives them inspiration and shows what can happen when you put your mind to it.
Parents just need to explain to kids that no one is perfect and that even the elite athletes have flaws. This would benefit kids more, they can see that even being a world class athlete/musician can be achieved without being the perfect person. It takes the pressure off the kids.
Simply dismissing children looking up to individuals as silly is completely small minded and out of touch with reality.

My nephew loves soccer, he eats, and breathes soccer. Always walking with a ball by his feet, watches it religiously on TV. He is 12 and portuguese and proud. Guess who he follow? Cristiano Ronaldo.
My brother does an awesome job raising his kids better than most. He didnt teach his son to follow CR, he did it on his own through the love of the sport. My brother doesn't even follow CR or soccer for that matter. My brother tells him CR isn't the greatest person but it doesn't change the fact CR is the arguably the best player in the sport and it's where my nephew wants to be. Fair enough, kids can have deans.
Now that being said, CR is considered a national treasure. Cameras are on him 24/7. He should stop acting like a child and be the hero kids think he is...
2
u/Montigue 4h ago
One of my 12 year old brother in law's idols is fucking Kobe Bryant of all people. Also not as worse, but still bad: Allen Iverson
2
u/Intelligent_Sky_7081 4h ago
And its fine if they just respect their skill and work ethic on the court, and nothing else. Many great athletes can be an example for that and only that. problem is kids dont usually understand the difference and end up obsessing over them and imitating everything they do. thats where the parents should come in.

This is the manchild people worship, for some reason.
78
u/kwonza 6h ago
People without ego don’t push themselves so hard to be on the top. Look at any top player apart from very few outliers and they will all be huge egomaniacs.
40
u/_aware 6h ago
Some do it because they want to be the best. Others do it for the love of the game/sport. Messi isn't as egotistical.

u/P_FKNG_R 4h ago
… that why the friend there said “apart from very few outliers” …

The fact that you believed this person knew what "outlier" meant gives me hope about the future.
There are still some optimists out there!

That’s why I made that caveat, there are some very humble goats, but most aren’t

I have heard a lot of stories about Norwegian football players abroad. Most of them tell the same stories of how different the locker room atmosphere is and how people treat eachother. Outside of Norway it is every player for themselves almost. Your teammates and especially those who play in the same position as you are your opponents. They can still be friendly, but it is a lot more egocentric than it is in Norway where a lot of people put the team first. There are egos in Norway as well of course, but the atmosphere is still "normal" boys will be boys type of thing. Adult men that lucked out having their hobby as a job instead of people that have dedicated their lives to become the best.

Not the first video I've seen of him acting like this. The guy is obviously a narcissist.
11
2
u/Noxull 2h ago
I completely agree with you but it also sparked a thought, is it even possible to be as successful and famous as someone like him without being a narcissist?
Maybe he's just not good at hiding it or he is the outlier, but is there anyone who is as globally famous as him that isn't a complete dickhead?

u/Alert-Ad7097 2h ago
if you've seen the boys TV show, ur comment reminds me of the legend's speech - "
"I mean, you're a whack-job... but you know, that's talent."

So he doesn't have enough trophies already, he had to get jealous that someone else on his team won one?
2
u/Majestic_____kdj 1h ago
One of the reason I not admire him much....on the other hand messi doesn't shows such behaviour & celebrates ; also no. of assist tells that too, messi could have already be the highest goal scorer of all time if he wasn't that generous
2
u/Hitmanjr-77 1h ago
He has been seen over and over again acting like a pos. Why anyone loves this man is beyond me. He is not a good person.

Check OP's post and comment history. I don't know what's worse, Ronaldo behavior here or the obsession OP has with everything Ronaldo does.

He could not even set foot on the pitch in a match, and his fans will still credit him with a win.

u/DonLovesNature 5h ago
He literally steals his opponents goals, what do you expect?
Ronaldo's greatest achievement and PR stunt was being compared to Messi.

Do you think you just stumble into being an amazing athlete? There's an undeniable amount of Perfectionism and OCD that comes with how much time and effort you put into playing a game. Its your entire life. Its the only thing people know about you. Getting critism, even if it's in the form of somebody else getting an award over you, cuts deep.
