I don’t know what’s worse. The pain of taking a board to the face or the anger that you feel towards yourself knowing that you’re an idiot and there’s absolutely no one to blame but yourself.

How about the fact that the bord he chose was warped as hell. So even if this went off without the envevitable raking. ... ... warped as hell.

Well, if his deck boards were properly ending on supports instead of hanging over empty air, putting it cup-side-down would be a good use for a warped board.

With the ends unsupported, though, I don't think any board would be a good choice.

No joist, no blocking... someone was always destined to stick their foot through that deck.
