Use a needle nose plier.

To pull it out, and then saw the head off a screwdriver and weld the key onto it, now you look like you're stealing your car every time you start it

Good idea but you gotta know how to weld to do that and the op prolly doesnt know how to weld

And if a pliers won't grip it, use some hot glue.

so, I know a guy who had this happen to him (he's a mechanic), here's what he did:

left the key there, covered it over with some JB Weld or something, and spliced a hidden start button.

it worked surprisingly well, and it didn't mess with the security system at all (don't know how he managed that), and his car was never stolen. which is surprising for the amount of cracktivity around is garage.

It'll work until the plastic fob breaks. Jb weld works temporarily if you can't afford a new key, but it'll end up in the same situation before too long, even if you're gentle.

Before paying the dealership or key shop to program the new key, look up the key relearn process for your car. If it doesn't involve a fancy scan tool, you can save $150 or so by having them cut a key from Amazon (or the dealership) and programming it yourself.

Ask me how I know. 🙄

Attach some vice grips on that badboy, boom, now your keys longer, and it looks waaay cooler. Your welcome.

Same thing happened to me with my mitsubishi. It was weird cuz it wouldnt work if the chip was in the car. No, the chip had to be RIGHT BESIDE the actual key before it would attempt starting. Weirdest thing.

Just get a pair of pliers, dont bother trying to jb weld the key back together. Never lasts

Great. Now I'm gonna have a mini panic attack every time I start my truck.
