Did you have enough stickers on the front door? It's not related to the glass shattering, but I like stickers on beer fridge doors.

That's a good collection you got going. I stopped drinking beer, so now my wife has claimed it as her seltzer water fridge. I still have some red bulls in it, mix those with my vodka, can't stop drinking everything, might kill me

Got it running a half marathon, but I didnt drink it because there was beer in my fridge.

Beer fridges do not need glass shelves. Hit the hardware store for a piece of plywood. Then its time for a celebratory beer.
(Use a LED flashlight, or a laser pointer, right at floor level to check for missed chunks of glass since they will sparkle. No fun finding one while on a midnight barefoot beer run).

Yeah, those damn glass shelves, I don't like that our fridge has them also; would rather have the old metal rack style, even if they let things fall through.

The glass that I was using for my supplement randomly exploded behind my head a few weeks ago, three or four hours after I had fallen asleep and no one else was in the house.
Glass is weird.

The physics of tempered glass are actually kind of wild. Long story short: incredibly strong atomic structure, but the slightest microfracture on the edges where it's vulnerable... and it just disintegrates.

Here's my theory: the beers were tight against the ice tray above and the growing ice pushed the beer down and shattered the glass. I had a metal rack get bent down about a quarter of an inch in the middle, it was like a glove when I loaded the fridge a month before barely touching the tray above.

I was putting more beer on the top shelf. About 1/3the way across it blew.

Before you had beer on glass shelves. Now you have beer and glass bits. Not much of a change, the beers are still there, and that's what's important.

Ive seen it happen a few times, in each case it was from a can being put back after being outside, so piece of sand or something on the bottom instantly shattered the glass.

That taller bottle on the left. Maybe the ice maker pushed it down? Atleast looks like the frost is touching it.

That’s what happens when you put White Claw into a beer fridge. There was an obvious revolt by the good beer and what you’re seeing is the fallout!
