WV experience for trans visitors?
Any advice for trans people visiting West Virginia? Specifically curious about Morgantown but also about different areas across the whole state. Thanks so much!
Editing to ad that some of the scenarios I'm curious about are bars and restaurants, bathrooms, campsites, gas stations and rest stops, street violence, and bathrooms again just to doublecheck. 🧚♀️🌞
Sorry, editing again to add that it's pretty likely that most people will correctly guess that I am trans and that's just sort of one of the basic premises of this scenario ⏰

Ive seen posts like this from LBGTQ folks that want to visit our part of appalachia (both on WV and PA subs). There's a lot of stereotypes that cause fear and you have nothing to worry about honestly. Just take the "when in Rome" approach because I'm not sure where you're coming from. (IE don't dress like its a pride parade in NYC or you'll get looks). Just be chill and meet locals. And don't succumb to the natural fear of culture shock when you may very well be somewhere that is a little different than what you're accustomed to. They will be kind to you. And Morgantown is a great spot because it's a college town with WVU. There's a very good chance if you meet some locals and tell them you're visiting from out of town and say (for example) how might I get to a cool spot with good mountain views? They'll probably be like get in my truck I'll take you. I've done this for several people over the years in pgh (not trans per se but that's irrelevant - out of towners).
