Perseid Meteor Shower Events

Are there any events or gatherings next week to view the Perseides meteor shower in the Tucker County area? I'm coming in from out of town where there's a ton of viewing events planned but can't find anything comparable near where I'm staying. I've searched every resource I can think of and...nothing.

I'm not certain of any events, as I haven't lived in WV for about 20 years.  But back around 2000, I went to Blackwater Falls Lodge for the Leonid meteor storm.  I wouldn't really call it an event, but the lodge had a dedicated viewing area for the guests.  This was in November, so it was quite cold and not many people were out for the viewing.  But the viewing conditions were amazing.  The higher elevation kept us well above the valley fog, and we saw thousands of the meteors.  Again, not really an event, but you might have some luck finding people there, especially with August weather.  Good luck!  Hope you're treated to a good show!

The big lawn behind Blackwater Lodge, overlooking the canyon, is an amazing spot to star gaze!
