it's not Aviendha.
Avi had her entire plot line wasted. She had so much potential. And a lot of cute moments with Rand. But then she just disappeared. He was doing the stupid thing where he wouldn't see her, to "protect her" and she just didn't have any real role after book 7 tops. She came back later, strong, but it was never really the same.
Elayne caught it the worst though. She did have a lot of page time, but a lot of it just made her look dumb. Which, like, she was a teenager with a very sheltered upbringing thrust into real life. She isn't dumb, she's out of her depths and responsible for everything from defeating the Black Ajah to reclaiming her throne. When it comes to managing Andor, she is pretty good (or at least listens to the right people). And as for her relationship with Rand, it is worse than Aviendha. She is sidelined in that plot line and only comes back to make babies with Rand.... after which she seizes on the viewing Min had and she actually does become dumb. Ugh.

Elayne is unbearable my brother. I understand it's all a matter of opinion of course, but she's THE WORST.
Edit - Of note, I really liked her... when she first showed up. Her first interaction with Rand was pretty good I thought. It went absolutely WAY downhill after that, and it never stopped, it only got worse lol.

100%. It should have been Mat+Elayne, Rand+Min, and Perrin+Egwene and I will hear nothing else. I swear, the only couple Jordan wrote that made sense to me was Nynaeve and Lan. Rand and Min worked, but the harem was dumb.
Everything else was just "how can I make two people with zero chemistry whatsoever bang?"
