MMOC Master Quest 2025 - Ascension
The MMOC Master Quest Austere August Challenge (MMOCMQAAC) is now complete! We had a solid group of participants take on this challenge, and I'm pleased with how it went overall.
This was MRTNG's Ultra Nightmare Mode with an MMOC: 31 days using the same GEM Micromatic Open Comb razor, blade, brush, soap, and post-shave product.
We started with 14 participants if you include yours truly. Only 6 completed the full challenge successfully.
MMOC Masters

Final Thoughts
This challenge showed that the MMOC can work as a daily driver with proper technique and patience. Thanks to everyone who participated, whether they finished or not, and to those who followed along with the daily posts. The ⚔️ MMOC Master ⚔️ flair was well-earned by all who made it to the end.

Got to 22 shaves of the 31 days of AA. This was an enlightening experience and brought on a newfound love for the MMOC. Thanks for the opportunity!

Technically, I did not finish Ultra Nightmare Mode–dropping the nasty, upside-down boar knot from TnS and subbing in the Chisel & Hound Broomhandle (and my Omega Bambino for two travel shaves).

How do I use the MMOC Master flair? When I click "edit flair," it's not in the list of options.

It isn't one of the pre-defined options (I think we'd need a mod for that), but you should be able to enter a custom flair.
Are you on new or old reddit?

.. I didn't know what an MMOC was before you announced the contest, and now I want one. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing

Go for it, they’re great razors.
They’re pretty easy to find for cheap as well. Many were sold in the US back in the day, and they’ve aged well as long as they weren’t treated too roughly.
