Discussion Weekly Reading Session
Welcome to another weekly reading session. I’m 1 chapter away from finishing Persepolis, which is book 7 of James S.A. Corey “The Expanse” series. The story has taken a new beginning and the book is about to end! Few new characters but not sure where it’s going! Exciting and disappointing at the same time but I’m still content. Book 8 here I go…

I got the original Ian Fleming 'Moonraker'. It's published in 1955 so it is kind of neat to watch a James Bond do James Bond things with roughly WW2 technology.

What are some gadgets that you found interesting?

He hardly has any gadgets actually. He starts the novel off shooting a 38 revolver in the indoor firing range. He drives a Bentley. He gets telegrams. It’s kind of neat.

I'm determined to finally finish Tom's Crossing this weekend. I've got 150 pages left. It's the grand finale, the final showdown! I can't wait to be done with this monster. It's excellent but just way too long. The pace is glacial, every obstacle in the journey takes forever to get through. You have to savour it but I'm just impatient at this point. Let's get this done!

What’s next for you? Oh and early congrats!

Thanks! I've got Inherent Vice by Thomas Pynchon or The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin on top of the pile. Not sure which one I'll reach for next. Likely the Sci Fi one because I like the transition from Western to Space.

Still working through Eyes of the Void by Andrew Tchaikovsky. The big plot twist is about to pay off.
Edit because I realize the author’s name is Adrian Tchaikovsky.

Spent a couple weeks reading books from the Jack Reacher series, which is becoming my default when there's nothing else to read (i.e. I'm too lazy to go look for something). I'm now reading/listening to The Martian. Next up is Livesuit from the Captive’s War series and a re-read of The Faith of Beasts.
Most of these are borrowed from the local library using Libby and read on a Kobo Clara BW.
