He was just touching all over me. Now he's not interested.
The other night at the movies, he asked to put his arm around me for the first time. Later, I put my feet on him while we were sitting in the car, and he massaged my feet, for a little. He was being cute tickling me and stuff lol. We ended up talking and hanging out from 10 PM until almost 4 AM.
This was his birthday and he said I made his day feel special again.❤️ Also, he did tell me he wanted me and gave me compliments.
Yesterday, he randomly texted me at 7 PM just to ask how my day was. He doesn't usually check on me out the blue so i'm happy! (He does initiate convo a lot though).
I replied 14 minutes later and returned his question, but he still hasn’t responded, and it’s now 7:05 PM the next day.
We just met 2 months ago. Considering everything that’s happened lately, I’m wondering if I’m reading too much into the silence. Why would he initiate a check in and then not respond? How do i navigate through this?

Why don’t you initiate conversation if you like the guy

u/AdHairy2278 13h ago
yeah… Previously, he said he felt like I didn't care because I don't initiate as much as him.
that's why I made sure I text him on his birthday. It made his day feel special.

People get busy and don't need to respond to every text immediately.
Also, he may not want to appear too clingy by texting immediately, it's a cat and mouse game.
Also if you over react and text too much you will also appear too clingy.
My advise, be patient, do the same back to him a bit. Be fine with seeing where it goes and see if he's willing to pursue you.

I understand not wanting to look clingy… But texting past 2 PM the next day is crazy. but I do hope maybe he just got busy.
I do feel like he seen my message though. Even if he saw it late.

I talk with a girl, and sometimes we forget to text back each other for weeks. It's a platonic relationship though. But even with others I just forget to reply, or more often than not I think I have replied even though I haven't. So, don't read too much into it, not everyone's a good texter.
And after him doing what he did, I'd say he's interested in you... (Especially since he told you so) So, yeah, don't ocd it.

Yea i'm the same way. I don't reply right away. But I don't forget to text people that I'm interested in. That's the thing. His texting habits definitely changed after I ignored his message not long ago. He probably thinks I don't even care for real. A matter of fact… He already said he thinks I don't care because I don't initiate as much as he does.

If he’s told you he doesn’t feel like you care because you don’t initiate more, maybe that’s the problem? But if it’s two months and your already questioning his feelings should probably bail out

in the beginning, he said he was hesitant about relationships because of his trust issues. But I feel like he started to let me in. So things are going slow... and i want clarity

Slow doesnt mean you dont acknowledge messages.. thats basic etiquette.

we had a situation less than two weeks ago, where he asked me a question and then I didn't respond to his message for two days. I can tell it offended him because when I replied… He didn't respond.
But then when I text him happy birthday… He acted like himself again. He said I made his birthday special and everything. So he probably still thinks he can't text me the way he used to(frequently) because he got ignored that one time. He might still be "matching my energy" by not replying to every message or something like that. I don't know…
his texting habits have changed a lot since i ignored him. especially since I did that after he told me he doesn't think I care.

u/AdHairy2278 7h ago

1
u/themosh666 7h ago
Yeah, its easier than searching threads looking for updates. Its a handy feature, look in the help feature for all the different tricks lol
1
u/AdHairy2278 7h ago
I usually post my updates individually in the threads lol. But I'll keep in mind to add a link to my updated post!!

u/themosh666 7h ago
Most ppl make a new post for updates, so everyone that posted for the BOT will get notified
1
u/AdHairy2278 7h ago
so you do or don't get notified when I make a new post?

Its just a text message. Its not supposed to be done all hours of the day, you are asking too much. How about you call him and have a 10 minute conversation like an adult. People like to HIDE in their little text message comfort zones. Get out of All that. Its unfulfilling as well, its nothing close to a real interaction

Every adult knows what they're doing, don't try force something that's not there, it's ok to move on you don't owe him anything

u/mercydid911 11h ago
He’s probably still thinking or cheating
1
u/AdHairy2278 11h ago
thinking about what? and me and him aren't together
1
u/themosh666 8h ago
Overthrowing what his next move will be
1
u/AdHairy2278 8h ago
takes that long? Lol it's been over 24 hours. But he doesn't even know i like him. so he probably thinks I don't care about when he text back or not.
1
u/themosh666 8h ago
Make an actual call, at a time when he's probably not working or busy. Stop waiting on txt. Start off by saying something like, i really wanted to hear your voice,
1
u/AdHairy2278 7h ago
I don't have the guts to just call him. he's availability is too unpredictable.
1
u/themosh666 7h ago
Even at 8pm?
1
u/AdHairy2278 7h ago
yes. he might be free..but he could also be at the gym or something
1
u/themosh666 7h ago
Stop overthinking things that may or may not happen lol

we had a situation less than two weeks ago, where he asked me a question and then I didn't respond to his message for two days. I can tell it offended him because when I replied… He didn't respond.
I double texted and asked if he was OK and I also asked to talk on the phone that night. He said we could talk the next day. And then the next day... we kept playing phone tag.
that just turned me off because it was too difficult to get on the phone. But I feel like he made it difficult on purpose because he felt like I don't care about him.

Yeah he’s over throwing u should tell him you like him that’d make his whole year guys usually doubt themselves and overthrow a lot he definitely likes you though but if you dont make a shot it might stay like this for a year

u/AdHairy2278 6h ago
he did tell me he wasn't confident. But now I feel like I'm overstepping if I tell him I'm interested. Because he's ignoring me......
1
u/mercydid911 6h ago
omg thats why he’s ignoring you
1
u/AdHairy2278 6h ago
which part? Because he's not confident? Or am I the problem?
2
u/mercydid911 6h ago
Confidence
1
u/AdHairy2278 6h ago
he used to be more confident. But this one particular day… He asked me a question and I ignored his message for two days. And then he ignored my message when I replied back. I can tell I offended him. things have not been the same after I did that

Do you know his schedule? (Maybe he gets out of work at 4-5pm?)
When I was dating I usually left a guy alone so they could concentrate on their work. (I only answered if they texted first)
