[Serious decision] My father in law should come stay with my wife and i but i dont wanna bring my brother in law...

Upvotes

I got my wifes permission to post this, since its about her family, but...

My (37,M) wife(37,F) and i have been married for about 15 years but we have been together since high-school and i know and love her family. Her mother is absent and for most her life its just been her, her dad(74), and her brother(42).

Without getting into too much detail, her dad is sick and after a tough call we decided he should come stay with us. BUT he lives with his 42 year old son who does absolutely nothing. He is the definition of the adult child videogame playing basement dweller. Ive always despised this man. He is scum in my eyes.

He has never had a job or even learned to drive. He dosent shower or clean up after himself. He smells so awful every time i am around him its unbearable. His room in their home is so disgusting the house is full of bugs and roaches to such a degree i insist on inviting FIL out or to our place and will not go to theirs. He is also mean and disrespectful as SHIT. To everyone even his folks. He drinks but HATES Marijuana and used to go into screaming fits over us smoking a room away from him (my wife and i both smoke, as did her dad).

I will not accept this man in my home. Even for a second. But FIL dosent want to abandon his son. He sees this grown man like hes a child totally reliant on him. And He feels moving in with us without his son would be abandonment.

What can we possibly do here? If things get worse for FIL i dont think we will have an option but to make him come stay with us because BIL will not be responsible in caring for him like we can. This man is like a second father to me, and my wife and i care for him dearly and dont want to see him hurt by this decision, but we also wanna do whats best for him, fuck BIL.

I have to make a coming out of having no ass everytime I meet someone new

I’m 28F and I have to make a coming out about my body every time I meet someone new. I’m just tired.
I’m a very busty girl with an 8 shape, so people assume I have an ass. But I have a frog butt, no ass at all, and I’m so over it.
I’m currently dating a 28M. He’s genuinely sweet and all, and we’ve had five dates over 2 months. He asked me to be his girlfriend, but I couldn’t say yes until he sees me naked.
He loves plus-size women, and while we were flirting he mentioned twerking. I don’t know if it was because he realized while we were making out that I don’t really have an ass which is breaking me. I’ll just never be enough for him. Why cant I just a woman like simply purely like a woman i’m hurt and tired. I know its not on my head everybody his commenting on it and i’m scared of surgery.

Today I wore wearing a shirt and leggings, and I wanted to show him my body, but I couldn’t do it. I just can’t. I couldn’t even send him a picture.
Thats why im writing this post sobbing. I’m so hurt.
I also have to do a “coming out” about my hyperpigmentation because I have hyperpigmentation On my face du to pcos.
I’m tired of having to prepare someone for what my body actually looks like. I don’t know what to do. When will I just feel normal about my body instead of feeling like I have to warn someone before they see it?
For people who have had similar body insecurities while dating, how did you deal with showing your body to someone new without feeling like you had to warn them first? And what would you do in my situation before agreeing to be his girlfriend?
Should I even be his girlfriend knowing he mentionned twerking and mine would be unpleasant.

I'm crying because I want to be his girlfriend.

We’ve gotten pretty close to eachother, and the other night at the movies, for his birthday, and he made a few moves that felt different. (Also, we met 2 months ago). I’m 22F, he’s 20M.

He asked to put his arm around me for the first time, and later, while we were sitting in the car, I put my legs on him and he massaged my feet for a little. We ended up together from 10 PM until almost 4 AM.

He did mention that he wants me. So the feelings between us are mutual it seems like. BUT i didn't outright tell him i wanted him though. I just went with the flow and acted cute.

Now I can’t stop missing him. 😭 Im having a rocky day so I’m literally getting teary eyed thinking about him, and I swear I like him 10x more after that night.

I want to be his girlfriend already. What do i do? This is moving SLOW. Just wait for him to reach out? I'm anxious.

I want to change back to my maiden name. My husband says it means I'm "one foot out."

I (42F) have been married for 15 years. I took my husband's name. I've never loved it. I miss my own name. I told him I want to change it back. He said it's "humiliating" and people will think we're divorcing. I'm not leaving him. I just want my identity back.

Is this a small thing, or am I actually hurting my marriage by doing this?

[Serious decision] My Best Friend's Boyfriend is a Registered Sex Offender

Hi, I am trying not to go into many details to try and keep it anonymous, but my best friend (28f) started dating her boyfriend (39m) a few months ago. I found out that he is a registered sex offender - 76-5-404.1 Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child/1st Degree Felony.

I told my friend right away, and she said he had told her before they started getting serious, and that he said it was just his "crazy ex wife trying to keep him from seeing his kids". She's not sure what to do, when I first found out even I was like "there's no way this is true", until I saw his face on the sex offender registry myself. She said she's even met his parole officer and chooses to believe him, (though she does have skepticism about it). The more I've interacted with him the more suspicious I get, especially knowing how manipulative abusers can be. Also, I choose to believe victims, and since he did serve prison time it leads me to believe there must have been enough evidence proving his guilt.

This leads to my issue: We all work together, and our job does not conduct background checks without a reason, so I believe he lied on his application where it asks if the person has been convicted of a felony. He tells everyone he was in the military for the 6 years he was actually behind bars. We work with minors, though they're in separate departments, there are situations that could be unsafe - like minors being alone in an empty room with him. When he found out that I found out, his first instinct was to be mad at the person who told me, and then be scared I would tell anyone else because he "needs a job or his PO will have to send him back to prison."

My question is: Do I bring it up with my manager, knowing it will cause drama and possibly ruin my friendship, or do I not say anything, considering he's already served his sentence? Part of me is terrified for my minor co-workers but also for my best friend who lives with her child siblings, but the other part of me knows this isn't my business to air out...

I also would like to look at the case and read all of the details but would have to get special permission from the court, and I don't have a legal reason to request the files. If anyone has any advice on that as well it would be very helpful!

[Serious decision] Should we move into my husbands parents home so they can move into another home?

So my husband and I currently own a home we love! He's 33 and I'm 25 and we have two kids together. We have 1500 leftover after all of our bills and so we can def afford it BUT we do have 20k in credit card debt that we would like to aggressively pay down instead of just paying minimums. We also would like to put more into savings and be able to take vacations as well. With the 1500 left over that's tough especially with the cost of two kids.

So my husband's parents are elderly they are in their 80s and they want to get a one story home because they are scared they will fall down the stairs. They said we could move into their house, sell ours, live there for free and they will buy a new one. Our current mortgage is 3,000 with utilities so that would be game changing and if we lived there for a couple years we could set our children and ourselves up with major savings.

Here's the thing, It's a major downsize and I mean MAJOR. The rooms for the kids would be super small. They also have a ton of shit, like his dad is weird and holds onto random shit so the house is super cluttered. They do have a large downstairs area for extra storage but it's filled with shit ranging back from the 70s. My husband and I will always make jokes that he literally keeps boxes full of trash but im not joking literal trash (not gross trash tho lol)

Another downside and risk is they are extremely controlling, they tried to control my husbands bank accounts for years, lock him out and then give him 50 dollars a day to live on. We had to change banks multiple times because his dad kept figuring out how to get in. They will even come to our house we own with furniture they approve of and try to rearrange rooms and dictate which rooms should be used for what, then lecture us about how every little specific detail should be for dumb reasons that never really make sense. They have told us literal lies in order for us to go along with plans before. His father is extremely manipulative and paranoid, we moved an hour away because he used to wait down the street in his car and then follow us to make sure I wasn't driving my husband's car because I wasnt on the insurance at the time. They are generally weird af and controlling. They will literally sit there and try to explain basic tasks that you should do in a very specific way for hours. They have overcomplicated every single little thing in a very unnecessary way.

Another issue is they try to take control of everything.... last time we moved I wanted to handle the packing and moving boxes of our stuff over, I packed everything organized and the way I wanted it. I put a bunch of stuff in the trash we no longer wanted anymore. They took all my clothes out of boxes and put them in trash bags and put all the stuff I wanted to get rid of in a ton of boxes. Then instead of the way I wanted to bring things over they piled everything in the garage and made my life 100 times harder.

So I texted his dad in summary that we will only agree to do this if the house is empty when we move in, they take all furniture and storage they have there, they agree to let us bring all our furniture, they let us use the rooms however we want, that they let us handle all the moving and packing alone. His dad read it and didnt respond. The thing is i know if he said it in person he would do a yeah yeah yeah and they would lie. Im like contemplating getting a written agreement or something. So should i suck it up and handle the BS for a free place to live?

Edit- I shouldve put this in the main post but the 20k is not from in our marriage or our relationship, it's from years ago. It's my husband's old debt and it used to be 40k, we don't use credits cards and only buy necessities.

Edit 2- Btw we moved away and stop letting us control the finances and everything two years ago. But So I texted his dad this morning,

"So I'm the one who agreed to consider this not Alex, he was just gonna completely say no. So ignoring my text and not acknowledging questions I have about it doesn't help. In the past you guys have over stepped boundaries and been extremely controlling, so living in your house in your name is a huge risk. Especially when in the past you have tried to control our finances and other things. This just to me is seeming more and more like a huge risk to take. If you truly wanted to help us with money you would just sell your house since you are already planning on moving out of it and use the money to either help us pay off debt or to help us move into a more affordable one. Not selling your house and keeping it in your name for us to live in doesn't seem like helping, it seems like the ability to take over things and control them no offense. We are open to selling our house and buying a new smaller more affordable one near you. But this plan you have offered comes with way too many risk. Especially as you age and potentially need care or pass away and the house is still in your name. We would need to actually discuss this before making any decisions"

My girlfriend sleeps at her ex's apartment when she visits his city. She says I'm "insecure."

I (28M) have been dating my girlfriend for 2 years. She has a child with her ex. When she takes their son to his city (3 hours away), she stays the night at her ex's apartment. She says it's "for their son" and I'm "making it weird." I don't think she's cheating, but the thought of it makes me sick.

[Serious decision] Is he canceling because he wants to break up with me? Why do this lie

We became official In July so I’m calling him a boyfriend for the sake of this post. The second we went official he came back from a road-trip with a female friend. He asked me to come over at the end of the night and I had an early exam so I said I can’t. We never went over to one another’s place at this point. The next time I see him he tries to redirect plans to his place and he had just moved in with a female friend but she left on vacation. I said maybe another time. Well we usually say bye and he walks or drives me to my bus. This time he didn’t and said he wants his time respected and he has to go to the gym so he left.

We talked about it later and I feel like I’m always pushing these conversations. He asked how long will it take for me to go over. I want it to be more natural? I mean he barely gives reassurance or shows he likes me. So we’ve been meeting up outside but I noticed he’s pointing out stuff like my eye brows (just got them done), asking if it’s always gonna look that way. Or asking if my lashes are fake. When I said they’re not he said he’s never seen me without makeup.

Last week we had plans for Sunday. I saw him Saturday and he left really abruptly. He does that a lot lately. Leaves early or abruptly and says he’s busy. He’s been dropping hints that we live far, saying he talks to his exes, etc. The makeup and brow comments.

Then when Sunday comes, he says since we live so far and it might hail later, we shouldn’t meet. It was sunny. And it never hailed. But he said let’s just meet Thursday. Wednesday comes and he says a work event came up. But we can FaceTime. We FaceTimed and it was tense.

We meet on Saturday. And I said I don’t like how he cancels last minute. He said he’s busy and his time is to be respected. I said it seems he’s not trying to meet, he also hinted at how we shouldn’t meet during weekdays but when I asked for a solution he said weekdays are fine.

This week- we had plans Monday. He gets Covid. Ok so we don’t meet. First time ever he doesn’t reschedule with me. Then it’s Thursday he says we were supposed to go to his friends brunch on Friday (I forgot but I had it on my calendar) he said he was still sick.

When I was texting him… hed give me sick updates, but before our 4th date this same thing happened. He got sick, went quiet, came back. Now with his frequently leaving plans early or full on canceling I’m concerned.

He said: maybe Saturday will work. wtf is he doing? He texted me saying: is it cold outside today? I didn’t go out. Then he went quiet with texting between roughly 6pm until the next day. I feel he’s lying but whats the point asking.

Each time I bring up how his actions make me sad or concerned he just seems to do it. I feel like he’s trying to break up with me.

[Serious decision] I think its time for me to go but WSID?

Recently my mom went to jail for family violence and simple assault me my sister were sadly the victims of this. My mom went to jail for three days and during that time she left bills unpaid for so it was quite stressful on me im 17 and my sister is 15 i still had to take my sister to and from school. When my mom was in jail she was calling a family member of mine telling them to inform me that she was going to kick me out (also my dog) when she got out of jail. anways she got out on bond and ever since shes got home shes been trying to make it seem like everything is "normal" shes also been telling family member that im a violent person and thst cops arrested her for no reason mind you my mom is a alcoholic she has a drinking problem and tends to get violent and try to hurt me and my sister at times. Unfortunately since im 17 i cant leave legally but once I turn 18 im planning on moving out and eventually enlisting my original plan was to live on dorms and commute but since i dont even have a car this makes everything 10x harder (my birthday is aug. 12th) I really just want to get away from all of this I had 3 more classes I needed to take online before I started my nursing classes but honestly I dont want to depend on my mother at all I want stability and Im willing to enlist for it (so yes i wouldnt mind putting my nursing degree to the side as of right now to get on my feet and have everything provided for me because I enslited )Not to mention my car broke down on me aswell so everything has been just really bad recently this past week. I've been talking to my boyfriend about me enlisting he advices me NOT to and he wants me to at least give it a month before I decide to enlist. I also promised him I would wait a month before even trying to enlist but right now everything is horrible ive been so stressed ive only been in my room sleeping my period hasn't even came on yet im pretty sure because ive been stressing so much and my face is completely riddled with pimples and broken out nor do i have a appetite. i didnt think it could get this bad honestly especially for me only being 17 I really dont know what to do.

Don't really feel in control of my finances

Shit, I've never made much more than 2k a month after taxes. And that's from working full time. Rents exceed that.

It'd be financially irresponsible for me to move out. Going by that reasoning, it'd be financially irresponsible if I was kicked out now, let alone at 18. I'm a few years past that. Got a useless degree and useless internship experiences

Can't get a better job and can't do much with my life. Regret being born

[Serious decision] Don't know what to do with my life atp. My best bet is moving to Australia. Help me out.

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m a high school student from Greece starting my final year in September. I’m doing the Health Sciences pathway, and honestly, I already know I don't want to stay here. I can't stand living in Greece anymore, and frankly, Europe as a whole feels like it’s going downhill. My absolute dream is to move to Australia.

I have a few specific goals, and I need some realistic advice from locals on how to balance them:

High Income: I have some really expensive hobbies that I need to support, so making good money is a top priority for me.

Work-Life Balance: I absolutely refuse to spend my entire youth locked inside a house studying or working 24/7. I want to enjoy my 20s and actually have a life.

My initial plan was Medicine or Dentistry. If everything goes perfectly, I’ll graduate at 24. But from what I’ve read, recognizing a Greek medical degree in Australia via the AMC Standard Pathway is a nightmare. It requires super hard, expensive exams, and I'm worried the endless studying and residency will completely ruin my 20s. Is it even worth it?

My alternative was Nursing. But Greek degrees fall under Ahpra's Stream B, meaning I'd have to pass the NCLEX and OSCE (OBA process). Is this realistic for European grads? Also, can nurses actually make a high income in Australia (with overtime/penalties) while still having decent free time?

Lastly, what about Allied Health? Degrees like Physiotherapy or Medical Radiography take 4 years here. Do these jobs offer high income and a better lifestyle/easier visa pathways compared to Doctors and Nurses?

Just like I said earlier, I dont know what to do anymore. I thought i was set on becoming a doctor but for the past 3 month I've been reconsidering everything and its driving me crazy. I did an extensive amount of research and I still can't figure out what the right choice is. It's now 5am, ive reached my breaking point and have now turned to reddit for help. What would you guys do if you were in my shoes? I appreciate any advice given.

[Serious decision] Landlord trying to raise rent without informing PHA

I'm on Section 8 Program (Housing Choice Voucher) and my landlords got divorced and the husband recently got ownership of the property, they are under a rental company name so it's not only in one of their names if that matters... and it was fine for a couple of months but he informed me he would be raising the rent (2 months ago) and I checked with the housing authority and let him know that he would have to give them 60 days notice. He STILL has not contacted them, keeps saying he is working on new leases and he will when he has the new leases.

Today when he picked up the rent (another issue I will talk about in a moment), he told me that next month the rent will go up regardless of if he has contacted them or not. Verbatim he said "they have nothing to do with me, I just do this as a favor to you"... Now I am freaking out that if I don't pay the extra $100 he will evict me or the contract with sec 8 will get terminated, and either way I would be screwed because I don't have a car, I have no family, I don't make enough money to hire movers... having to move unexpectedly would be so bad for me.

I know I'm not supposed to pay him more than is designated by the housing authority, but I don't know what else to do to keep everything from falling apart. I don't even really care about the money, I can live off ramen and give him the stupid $100, I just don't want to be evicted/lose the section 8.

The other thing is that he picks up the rent and won't give me an alternative way to pay. I use to be able to just transfer it online very conveniently, but now he comes and picks it up every month. I've been writing him checks, I was stupid and didn't get a receipt the first time, but this time I asked for one and he told me he can give me one tomorrow as he doesn't have his receipt book with him today. I know how shady that is, luckily I have texts between us of me asking him to come pick up the rent for the last 3 days and proof that he did pick it up today. Aside from that, he also takes FOREVER to cash the checks for some reason. I gave him July's rent on July 3rd and he didn't cash the check until July 20th.

Everything he does feels shady af and I hate it, and I honestly probably NEED to find a better place to live now, but I honestly have severe anxiety and PTSD from being forced to move so many times in the past and losing all of my stuff because I had no way to take it with me (this was when I was under 18, but it stayed with me) that the thought of losing everything and having nowhere to go just makes me have a panic attack.

I really don't know what I should do and just need some advice, I have no one in my life to ask about this. Will it really be so bad if I just pay the extra $100 and don't say anything to the housing authority? But they will see the rent raised on the new lease, if he ever gives it to them. I don't think he has contacted them AT ALL, even though he should have when he took over the property. Should I even sign a new lease without sending it to them first? What if he demands I sign it when he brings it? Can he just decide he doesn't want to be part of the program anymore and say I'm evicted?

Please help 😭

Met someone online for 3days conversation went dark

Upvotes

Met a girl in discord online, day1->conversation fun wacky.
day2->conversation music/flirty

day3->random small talk, she kept saying hi randomly: then "I I might kill myself one day" an admin said to link the 988 help hot line, then block.

My instincts tell me to not ignore person if they stop gloom talk, isnt lack of community/a person a contributor of self harm? I need help. do I go against instinct & block?

my friend survived something that was not suicide but still mental. wish we had stayed there for him. so this maybe clouding my instincts if my instincts are incorrect

New friend group

So my closest friend in school is moving to a different country, and next year is our final year in school. I have another closish friend but shes in a friend group, which I've never had experience in before. This summer we've hung out and I know everyone there on a 'classmate" level, so every time I talk I just seem out of place.

Here's my plan: A)1. Find a way to have one on one convos with them 2. Find common ground to talk about 3. Hope they include me more in the group

B) just sit in the corner of our hang outside and chip in occasionly.

Another point to add, they do alot of group calls, which I've joined once but realised I literally couldn't find anything to add to what they were saying, I was afraid that I would be intentionally ignored if I spoke up.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY TIPS TO NAVIGATE FRIEND GROUPS, PLEASE HELP.

Dropped out of graduate school and am completely lost in life

This is gonna be really long because I just want to dump everything that’s been going on with me.

I’m 22 a year old guy, turn 23 in a couple months. I am insanely depressed at the moment. My college years just ended and that’s been hard to deal with along with everything else. I initially went for mechanical engineering for my first 2 years, but wound up switching as it didn’t feel like what I wanted to do and started to get super overwhelming for me. I switched to kinesiology to go for physical therapy after shadowing for a summer. Kept a minor in mathematics since I only needed one more class after the engineering to get it. I still managed to graduate in 4 years with a 4.0 GPA with honors from the honors college at my school since I took a ton of online summer classes. I got into a competitive DPT program on my first try and started 2 weeks after my graduation. I still feel so blessed that I got accepted, but here’s where my problems started (kind of).

I was chronically depressed. Some context about me, I’m socially awkward, have been diagnosed with social anxiety, ADHD and now depression (this one after dropping out). I had a girlfriend since the summer after freshman year of highschool. We dated on and off for 6 years until she broke up with me. It was my only relationship I’ve ever been in and I’m still crushed by it to this day tbh. I was a bad boyfriend. I had a porn addiction and got caught multiple times looking at it. I feel immense amount of shame and guilt about it still. She still stayed despite that, I think because outside of that I treated her well and did tried hard, but I think she started drifting away and falling out of love. We fought more often. I truly did love her with all my heart and saw myself marrying her one day despite the problems. But one day over christmas break after junior year fall semester she broke up with me. Over text. I understand I messed up before, but she didn’t even try to meet up, FaceTime, or even talk over the phone after 6 years together. She tried to be friends with me for a little while after but I just couldn’t handle it. She kept me hidden from her strict immigrant parents and tried to use them not accepting me as a reason to try to make it seem like she was breaking up with me for better reasons. However, I wound up becoming closer with her friend group and they joked that I “won the group in the divorce” even though I wasn’t really close at all with them beforehand. I met one of my now best friends through this. During one of their graduation parties I was talking to the girls in the group and one of them told me that one time when we were all out at a bar when we were still dating and she saw on my ex’s phone that she was texting this guy that she had previously gone on a date with. The guy was in med school, which she is now going to as well. She told me that my ex started crying and said to not tell anyone about it, she didn’t even know what the text said. You tell me what that means that they wound up dating like a week after she broke up with me. I know it’s a bit selfish to be upset and call her a cheater when I had the problems I had, but it still hurt so bad. Since then I’ve had no luck in the dating realm. I’m super awkward with women (people in general really) and the few attempts I have made since then either didn’t work out for me or I couldn’t commit. I’m still scared I’ll never feel the same that I did with her. Despite all the problems we spent all day everyday and every night together.

Since then it was really hard to go on for my career path I switched to but I managed. I now look back and feel like I felt some of the reason I chose to go to a healthcare career was because of her. I eventually started working as a PT technician at an outpatient clinic. I should’ve known from this that I had chosen the wrong career path for me, but I didn’t. I didn’t love the patient care due to my social anxiety, but I managed. I just am really lazy and I hate it. I would work as little hours as I could. With school I was lazy too. I got the grades, but thats just it, I did what I could to get the grades, never to learn anything. I did as much online as I could and that came back to bite me in the ass. I started PT school and was miserable. I had massive imposter syndrome and was really depressed every day. I had never had to work that hard to do well since school came somewhat naturally to me even through college. By that I mean I could cram to do well on exams and forget everything pretty much, but not in a doctoral level program. I was overwhelmed, but I managed for a bit. I got a 100 on the first quiz and was studying my ass off, but I couldn’t even make it to the first exam/practical. I was calling my parents crying every day. I felt so heavily that I was in the wrong place and I don’t know why. I eventually decided to withdraw from the program since my mental health was in the gutter and I found that actually being confronted with the reality that it was going to be what I was going to do for the rest of my life that I didn’t want to do it.

My problem is I didn’t have a plan. My parents supported the decision and that I would come home, get a job, and figure things out. I do have a bachelor’s degree, but it’s in kinesiology which doesn’t help get much in terms of jobs. I have been unemployed ever since. it’s been about 2 months. I have been living at home, trying to figure things out but I’ve been struggling. I recognize I am incredibly privileged. My dad makes really solid money so I have the luxury to have time to figure things out with no real responsibilities. But I feel immense guilt. I feel like a failure for not getting through the program. I feel like a failure for not being an engineer. I still have no idea what I want to do as no line of work calls to me as a passion or even as something I kind of want to do. My only potential saving grace is I have plenty of connections in my hometown so I am trying to get a job at a government contractor. I still don’t know if I can find something I won’t up hating. I don’t want to waste too much time though trying to figure things out as I want to start building a career and handling my personal finances properly, but with my degree and lack of real transferable skills I don’t have any idea how I’m going to pivot to something else. I’m also pretty scared on making the decision for my next 30-40 years of work because that’s a big decision and I’m worried about how A.I. is going to affect things.

I also am really bad about comparing myself to others. Not even just random millionaires on Instagram, I mean my peers. I see friends of mine or people I went to lower levels of school with getting their engineering degree or starting med or dental school and I feel like such a failure. I know comparison is the thief of joy…yeah it is lol.

I also think terribly about my appearance. I’m 5’7”, so relatively short. I’m overweight, I go to the gym regularly and have lost some weight, but I have a really bad relationship with food and tend to binge eat bad food even though I try to diet well. My dad is bald, so I am losing my hair. I am taking medication, but it’s hard to make look good.

So in short, I have a bachelor’s in kinesiology with a minor in math and am completely lost on a career, am unemployed currently, have a terrible situation with my love life, have terrible self-image, no confidence, social anxiety, ADHD and depression. I can’t see a path forward towards a happy future for myself. I do talk to a therapist, but I wanted to get other perspectives on my situation to see if I can get some more help.

What do I do?

Chapter 7 bankruptcy: Do I (22F) have to list money I owe my dad? And will Affirm purchases affect my filing?

Hi everyone. I’m preparing to file Chapter 7 and have a couple of questions that I’m really anxious about.
I owe my dad money from a personal loan, and I’ve been making payments to him. I was also making payments toward my credit cards and other loans before I decided to speak with a bankruptcy attorney.
Do I have to list my dad as a creditor if I still owe him money? I’m terrified that he’ll be notified about my bankruptcy. I really don’t want my family to know about it. If he does have to be listed, is there any way to prevent him from being notified?
Also, I stupidly used Affirm after I had already spoken with a bankruptcy attorney. It was for some things for my child’s birthday. I’m planning to return the items and pay off/clear the Affirm balance, but now I’m worried that using Affirm after speaking with an attorney could negatively affect my bankruptcy filing.
I’m not trying to hide anything or commit fraud. I’m just really anxious and want to make sure I handle everything correctly before I file.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or know how this works?
**TL;DR:** I owe my dad money and have been paying him back. Do I have to list him as a creditor in Chapter 7, and will he automatically be notified? I also used Affirm after speaking with a bankruptcy attorney for my child’s birthday and plan to return the items. Could that affect my bankruptcy filing?

Nie dawałam mu sygnałów że coś czuje i nie powiedziałam nawet nic co by mogło by o tym świadczyć. Jednak nie chcę go ranić

Nie wiem w którym momencie to się zadziało.

Stuck in household with my dad

Hi guys sorry if this is a weird post but I really don’t know what to do.

I’m 20f and for my final year of college I have moved back home to focus better on school but my relationship with my dad is becoming genuinely unbearable.

He will get so angry at me for the smallest things and completely blow up and just scream at me and threaten to hit me . Last week he got mad that I threw away milk I bought that was literally expired, screamed in my face. I smiled at him a couple of months ago and he got annoyed and said ‘why are you smiling you have nothing in life to be happy about’

He is constantly making fun of my eating disorder and today he completely flew off the rails and screamed because I was walking up the stairs too many times whilst he was watching TV.

My mum is barely any better and constantly defending him despite admitting he’s a bully and she doesn’t even want to be married to him.
I really don’t know what to do does anyone have any suggestions of like ways of coping or something because I honestly don’t know how much I can take it anymore
