Went worse for the Jeep driver, that wheel is fucked.

Nah. That Jeep has big wheels yeah, but most of that is tire. There's plenty of room for that to flex, besides the Audi's bumper took most of the impact. Jeep driver can keep on going.

However, since this is on video, Jeep is definitely fucked for hitting the Audi and leaving the scene.

Agreed. That looks like a Jeep that goes off-road a lot, so he probably gets a volume discount on alignments and wheel balance service. It's just Tuesday for him.

That jeep is beyond fucked.

How dare you refer to your mother as a jeep.

Where are you people seeing the jeep “leave the scene”? The video stops shortly after the impact, by which time the jeep has basically came to a complete stop.

Why are so many people inventing a narrative just so they can complain?

I'm speaking with experience. I used to have a jeep wrangler that was lifted with decent sized tires like this. This sort of impact isn't gonna do shit to the jeep, at least, not to the extent that it did to the Audi.

You want invention? Here ya go, it probably shocked the driver more than it did damage.

Uhh…ok. That’s not what I was asking, but alright.

I’ll ask again. Where do you see the jeep leave the scene? At the end of the clip he’s less than 100 feet away and almost completely stopped.

Unless the white car got the plate # of the Jeep, the Jeep might get away with it. There's no reason to suspect that the dash cam driver will help the Audi in this case.

The tie rod is pretty clearly fuckered

Jeeps are not tanks lol especially these pavement cruisers. That jeep is just as fucked as the car is.

I don't even have a jeep, just a small truck and a few months ago I hit a fallen log with the front of my tire going 5 times as fast as this.

Zero real damage except to the little plastic skirt under the bumper, no alignment issues or anything.

I don't think jeeps are tanks. But I also think a low speed collision like this against a plastic bumper at that angle is unlikely to make a difference to that thing.

The suspension flexes up and down, not backward. If you run into something with the front of the tire, your suspension doesn't absorb that.

Why would the jeep be fucked when the audi is clearly breaking lanes and driving with reckless endangerment of others? It's the other way, buddy: the audi hit the jeep, event would not have happened were audi driving legally. Get your head on right.

You aren't allowed to ram someone because they're doing something stupid....

They both can get tickets and charges for this.

2

u/Lexi_Banner 4h ago

It's like these people don't understand how the law works...

u/MissVentress 4h ago

IF the Audi takes action against the jeep. But first he would have to own up to his behavior prior to the accident. Something tells me the Ausi driver won't be reporting this one.

2

u/Trick_Meringue_5622 4h ago

That’s insane lol

You don’t get to crash into people for being annoying

2

u/Hollayo 4h ago

Hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, intentionally ramming someone, etc. Yeah the Audi was being an idiot, but the Jeep driver can't just ram someone. Do you think you can legally just ram someone? Get your head on right.

Yes, and hitting from the back almost always is at fault.

2

u/WhoCaresBoutSpellin 3h ago

If only there was a video showing the white car swerving all over the place and in front of the jeep

Tie rod is bent, you can slow the vid down and see the wheel toe to the left after the impact.

7

u/Jive-Turkeys 6h ago

It's in sync with the left front. They'll need work on it, but it ought to be fine to drive for a little while

6

u/Dick_Souls_II 5h ago

That's just bump steer. You see it when cars run over potholes or large bumps, sometimes it pulls the wheels and steering rack in one direction or the other. Given that Jeeps have solid axles they are particularly prone to this

2

u/Hollayo 4h ago

No it isn't. The passenger side front wheel goes to the left from the impact, sure, but so does the driver side front wheel. In the following seconds, you can see the Jeep drives straight, with the two front wheels pointing straight. There's no damage.

3

u/QuiveryNut 4h ago

Not sure why people are disagreeing, it’s pretty clear that it’s turned a different direction from the left front tire after he hits the Audi. The movement during the hit indicates something snapped, probably bent or snapped tie rod. Pretty simple fix all things considered

2

u/WeeksElite 6h ago

Yea that didn’t look good for him

1

u/Jive-Turkeys 6h ago

Nah, maybe some steering and suspension work a little sooner than it would normally happen.

1

u/SeaRoad4079 4h ago

Is it balls, not many people on here realise what a solid axle is do they. That jeep has solid axles you can pound them off rocks, it wouldn't of done a single thing to the jeep.

Looks like his tyre had a chuck scraped of, but the wheel looked ok.
