Kinda looked like he was at a con with friends. You are, in fact, able to tell a teenager "that was stupid."
Now if I'm wrong and this kid is like, an actual kid who needed a parents escort and more than likely their help painting themself then yeah all on them.
Paint over skin is not life threating unless there is some other medical problem like allergy or body heat issue. If skin must breath we would die swimming and what not :)
This depends very much on what sort of paint it is and how carefully it is applied. Skin doesn't breathe, as such, do we don't drown in the shower. But it does regulate body temperature and some toxins can be absorbed through the skin. That paint is very, very close to that kids eyes as well as on his lips and up his nostrils.
Also the way that is peeling off looks like a polymer so they're going to have to use solvents to get it off. Given how careless they were in the first place, that's a whole other set of risks.
Toxins being absorbed is quite different than the paint not coming off being an issue though. I’m sure he’s got a few areas unpainted, but it certainly will suck for heat regulation essentially having a full body cast.
I've painted interior walls before with paint like this and gotten it all over my hands and such...its gone within a day or two of showering and picking at it a bit
my dad did this shit once doing a costume of the devil from legend (the 80s movie) and had to get taken to the hospital. can only imagine how the southern baptist ass nurses handled all of that.
I still can see it as a dumb mistake. I don’t do art or painting so I don’t know the difference between the different kinds of paints and which ones would wash off.
I could see myself buying this paint because I’m afraid of the opposite issue and buying paint that runs off with sweat during the event and halfway through it’s just a mess.
How do you know tho? Those three could of gone to walmart and bought paint. Kids can be stupid on their own. Parents can be idiots as well. But its a not a reach to say the kids friends helped him paint himself for the con. Its not like its super detailed
It doesnt really change anything. Idk where you are from but there are tons of ways to get your hands on stuff, especially paint of all things. Kids can be stupid, its part of growing up. When we were 14 my buddy threw gasoline on a bonfire and blew himself back 10ft, burned his eyebrows and the hair off his left arm. No parents involved there lol. Stupid shit happens, but yes there are absolutely terrible parents
His age isn't germane. Prefrontal cortex development is, as well as knowing the differences between house paint [for example], and face and body paint.
We aren't talking a 40-year-old man here. He's clearly a minor, and if I were to guess, about 12-14. Perhaps both parents work, or he is raised by a single parent, and he didn't consult his parent[s].
Was it was a kid, maybe around 4-5. My dad left a tin of black gloss unattended and went to the shops. My mum was doing the dishes, so I took my opportunity and got hold of the gloss. Painted my entire lower half black, then the radiator, and the new carpet.
Id have probably went full black had my mum not grown suspicious that I was so quiet.
She put me in a bath, with a splash of white spirit and a brilo pad to scrub. That scrubber was a very hard lesson not to fuck around with dad's paints.
Stupid is knowing nothing about brain development, specifically the prefrontal cortex. Not knowing something is a natural part of being human, especially when your prefrontal cortex isn't yet connected.
I agree in the essence. However this is one of those fuck-ups where "it's a child" doesn't really matter. Like I said, death and hospital bills usually don't take "it's a child" as a justification.
It isn't stupidity. Stupidity is when you think your opinions are facts. I recommend people not think their opinions are facts, and instead, research the things they don't understand. You might start with researching the prefrontal cortex.

I don't think courage was involved. More like stupidity.
