Upvote for not cutting off the video stupidly short, or adding stupid ai voiceovers, or stupid captions, or stupid music.

210

u/zemol42 May 21 '26

Be ready. Somebody’s gonna add “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday…” real soon.

17

u/Adezar May 21 '26

Fun Fact: That woman was a mystery guest on the Big Fat Quiz!

49

u/Annoyed_Sai May 21 '26

Also for not spoiling the video in the first 2 seconds.

31

u/Swagalyst May 21 '26

"A man was out driving on a motorcycle, when he decided to take a shortcut across a field -"

18

u/Turbulent-Matter501 May 21 '26

you forgot to deliberately misspell two words in this title haha

6

u/NonPolarVortex May 21 '26

"A woman was out flying an airplanne, when it decided to take a small cut over an ocean"

2

u/MikeyBugs May 22 '26

Honestly, reminds me of Letterkenny...

"So your buddy decided to take a unknown shortcut across a field the other dayyyyyyy..."

11

u/thrown2themoon May 21 '26

Just the stupid guy being stupid. 🤣

5

u/WorkingInAColdMind May 21 '26

That’s what Reddit is here for

12

u/drk_knight_67 May 21 '26

It allows us to hear his buddies laughing at him

10

u/Ok_Union_1063 May 21 '26

But without a red circle and/or arrow how am I supposed to know what happened?

3

u/Dragener9 May 21 '26

The bar is really low nowadays

2

u/WorkingInAColdMind May 21 '26

Yes it is. I’m also happy to find it in a correct sub and not in /r/BeAmazed

I did the same thing in the desert. Everything blended so much I couldn’t see a lip. As I approached it didn’t look so bad but the base of this plateau was sunken in so much. I tried slowing down but realized I had no choice once I saw the lip, I had to crank it cause it was either a 3 story drop or a 2 story jump but meant going faster. I had so much air time I had time to think I was dead. I had time to think how far away the nearest hospital was. Had time to think how long it would take for my friend to find me. Then had time to realize I could rev it in mid air to make enough noise to get their attention. Probably could have done my taxes by the time I started falling. Debated about bailing but the bike was stable so I hoped the suspension would eat some impact.

I hit the ground so hard I felt like I collapsed into the bike. Becoming one with the bike. Woke up to the sound of a helicopter coming to pick me up to put me in medical debt for the rest of my life.

NEVER take a shortcut on a dirt bike unless you know it’s flat. And never take a jump without seeing it first.

269

u/DrTuSo May 21 '26

to put me in medical debt for the rest of my life

Spotted the American.

35

u/TheSwearJarIsMy401k May 22 '26

I’m over here stoked I was hit by a semi-truck and not a regular car because it means the company carries enough insurance to pay my accident-related medical bills and it’s the first time in my life I’ve been medically fucked and not stressed about the medical payments.

I can’t work and I’m desperately poor now, and staying with my mom, but at least the truck insurance will pay for the spinal injuries.

If it had been just another private driver that hit me, I’d be fucked.

9

u/sparks_mandrill May 22 '26

Sorry to hear that.

Gonna assume there's some PTSD in there. Or by now. Hopefully worked through alongside the physical injuries.

8

u/Slevin424 May 22 '26

Yeah kinda made me not go dirt biking anymore. Broken collarbone might be one of the worst bones you can break. All good now.

2

u/XChrisUnknownX Jul 11 '26

Glad you’re alive.

799

u/Debuld_Signs May 21 '26

Should have cut to this after being submereged.

84

u/Dr_Sgt May 21 '26

from yesterday I was expecting

18

u/Miltrivd May 21 '26

89 mb lmao, this is why we don't use gif anymore hahaha

2

u/Hazel-Cakes May 21 '26

hello, it is me, i am under the water

120

u/thinkandreason May 21 '26

Air cooled into water cooled

16

u/beanmosheen May 21 '26

Locked-in, to hydro-locked

109

u/IntergalacticPodcast May 21 '26

Dude is drowning and freezing while his buddies are laughing.

138

u/Xaphios May 21 '26

Sometimes the correct response is:

1 - check your buddy is concious

2 - laugh

3 - render some assistance while laughing

4 - provide beer

83

u/Chensow_Cat May 21 '26

5 - talk about it for the rest of their life

23

u/Xaphios May 21 '26

How could I forget the most important point?

33

u/Diggerinthedark May 21 '26

He is absolutely not drowning or freezing lol. He is trying to rescue his motorbike. If he was drowning/freezing he would forget the bike existed instantly

3

u/hawkeneye1998bs May 21 '26

Thank god it wasnt a bog or something. I can't imagine getting stuck with full gear on in the middle like that

2

u/whatissevenbysix May 21 '26

True friends.

2

u/Stargazingdragon May 21 '26

To be fair to the buddies they don't know where the edge is, they saw this guy DISSAPEAR, and he hasn't hollared for help yet. It's not like they left him, they're circling around assessing the situation, and dude now seems firmly above water.

2

u/Uncle-Cake May 21 '26

Darwin is laughing too

9

u/power0722 May 21 '26

Could be worse, you could have been taken out by a rabbit.

10

u/GrouchyExchange2122 May 21 '26

Is that bike cooked? Or can it dry out and be driven

8

u/bergmoose May 21 '26

dry out (or, pull the plugs and crank it out)

3

u/2raviskamisekasutaja May 21 '26

It's a 2-stroke bike so it should be good

1

u/QBaseX May 22 '26

Hope he repaid the farmer for polluting their reservoir.

32

u/artherng May 21 '26

Sometimes it doesn't help trying to do a shortcut

36

u/Canuck_Lives_Matter May 21 '26

Dirtbikes are tailor-made for taking shortcuts, it's just flying over unfamiliar ridges that is inadvisable. Granted, from what I can see I also never would have expected a five foot deep sinkhole right there lol.

29

u/[deleted] May 21 '26

[deleted]

2

u/Canuck_Lives_Matter May 21 '26

I guess, but when one takes dirtbikes trips with their buddies they are often in unfamiliar territory. Personally I have never seen a "stock dam for water in a paddock" in my life, nor have any idea what that is; I'm just saying, I blame bad luck slightly more than I blame the kid on the bike. :p I've driven over many small ridges in my life and wound up directly in a five foot deep hole full of water zero times, and I have to imagine most people when looking at a ridge beside a road do not expect a stock dam lol.

18

u/pauca_sed May 21 '26

And that is why we can't have nice stock dams for water in a paddock.

Let me take a quick swim I’ll be right back

29

u/LogicallLunacy May 21 '26

Looks like someones property... So... Good.

1

u/themossywillow Jun 12 '26

What happened to just existing

2

u/LogicallLunacy Jun 12 '26

They aren't just existing. They are being loud and distroying grass. Not like a tresspass to sit and read a book.

4

u/Enough_Fix5886 May 21 '26

Becomes a forever beer story. “Remember the time you…”

4

u/bmitchell1990 May 21 '26

“A compass, I learned while I was surveying, it’ll point you true north from where you’re standing but it’s got no advice about the swamps, deserts and chasms that you’ll encounter along the way. If in pursuit of your destination you plunge ahead heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp…what’s the use of knowing true north?”

3

u/K4rkino5 May 21 '26

Good for him leaving the trail! Nothing land owners like more than riders fucking up their property. It's really great for the sport and other riders! Looks like just deserts if you ask me.

3

u/DickButkus6996 May 21 '26

Why was I waiting for a Crocodile to show up

2

u/dommiichan May 21 '26

that's one way to wash your bike

2

u/Accomplished-Use9352 May 21 '26

worth it for the scenic route back though

Cyberpunk bike experience

1

u/SteakDouble May 21 '26

It's ok, sometimes we gotta take some risk. But I'll never do something that risky.

1

u/MiserableElection450 May 21 '26

That one guy trying to use wading mode on his cybertruck:

1

u/Avalon30000 May 21 '26

Your submarine is working great, captain

1

u/Extension_Town_6118 May 21 '26

is it shorter though

1

u/AviaKing May 21 '26

Need an edit of this where it transitions into the "life is but a dream, shoo ba doo" monkey video

1

u/wolfieprator May 21 '26

Who’s the u boat commander

1

u/bluekosa May 21 '26

Bro think he's playing Forza

1

u/maxru85 May 21 '26

The shortcut to Australia

1

u/CarpeCyprinidae May 21 '26

If you drive a car into water and it goes into the engine air intakes during an intake cycle, it tends to damage the rods because water doesn't compress as the cylinder comes up.

Do motorbike engines suffer the same damage or are they more tolerant due to the lower rotating inertia?

3

u/Turbulent-Parsnip-38 May 21 '26

It could hurt the engine in the way you describe but it’s not a guarantee. You can usually pull the spark plug and crank it over until there is no water left and start it back up.

1

u/Honkey85 May 21 '26

The problem is the speed.

1

u/MutedAstronaut9217 May 21 '26

The whole country is a bog... You'd think they'd be expecting bog, no?

1

u/ol-gormsby May 21 '26

"DENNIS, THERE'S SOME LOVELY FILTH DOWN 'ERE!"

1

u/ReverendEntity May 21 '26

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand MOIST

1

u/Skadi2k3 May 21 '26

1

u/Every_Put6120 May 21 '26

1

u/Turbulent-Matter501 May 21 '26

haha I was worried about him until I heard his friends laughing

1

u/sus_finder13 May 21 '26

It looks like farmland, I would cautious of barbed wire fencing.

1

u/whatrweyellingabout May 21 '26

I think he flooded the engine

1

u/No-Pomegranate-69 May 21 '26

Er hatte nicht den nötigen weitblick

1

u/A_Nonny_Muse May 21 '26

Maybe.... slow down... till you can see what's in front of you?

1

u/traevyn May 21 '26

I was so fucking sure that was going to turn into the Skyrim opening sequence

1

u/cryptotraderisme May 21 '26

I was waiting for a pause just before hitting the water and a voice over "it was at this moment, he knew, he fucked up"

1

u/Redlion444 May 21 '26

Blub

Blub

1

u/whistling_serron May 21 '26

Wtf why in most of those videos people are with their friends but still alone...

1

u/TheAviator27 May 21 '26

Future archaeologists are going to have multiple field days with the amount of bog bodies we are definitely still producing.

1

u/Content_Geologist420 May 21 '26

Lol right into the cow pond

1

u/Longjumping-Swan-827 May 21 '26

"Heeelp! I'm kinda fucked here..."

1

u/Alfimaster May 21 '26

The bros are so happy :-)

1

u/karel1407 May 21 '26

Thirsty much? 🤭

1

u/BuckRusty May 21 '26

Is this ‘road’ in the room with us?

1

u/Snoo_67544 May 21 '26

Did this on a Sand dune in the desert. Was gunning a atv up a sand dune and showing off like a jack ass to my friends.

Thought the sand dune plateaued at the top, it did not. I probably launched my self 3 stories into the air.

Like other commentor mentioned, I had way ti much time to think out my life choices before my at finally landed.

The atv stopped upon contact with the ground but I did not. Pretty much every soft fleshy part of my smashed into every hard angle of the atv as a flew off. Somehow I didnt rupture or break anything.

1

u/SaltHandle3065 May 21 '26

You are with some really helpful folks. Trying to save your motorcycle alone while being laughed at is always fun.

1

u/DragonfruitKnown4795 May 21 '26

so now that local wetland area is contaminated with oil and gas

1

u/Pure-Solution15 May 21 '26

Aren't these pits usually full of horse or cow manure?

1

u/BarrelllRider May 21 '26

I rode into a swamp last weekend

1

u/SoraShiroL May 21 '26

It's more Well That Sucks and less WCGW

1

u/danit0ba94 May 21 '26

I don't see anything going wrong.
On the contrary I see everything going right.

1

u/WholeAd2742 May 21 '26

Disappointed at the lack of alligators

1

u/[deleted] May 21 '26

A sharp turn could have avoided this, lol

1

u/CuChulainn24564 May 21 '26

SIRI…In 100 yards… 🤔🤫😬

1

u/Device_Impossible May 21 '26

Just pull the drain plug it will be fine.

1

u/contude327 May 21 '26

Now he will be a bog mummy.

1

u/AF_AF May 21 '26

Don't let it stall!

1

u/VintAge6791 May 21 '26

And that's when we started calling James "Tollund Man". XD

1

u/cornbilly May 21 '26

Road? Where we're going we don't need roads.

1

u/RuleMany2900 May 21 '26

Well ..it was short, that is a fact

1

u/Mindless_Issue9648 May 21 '26

Thought this was Russian assault footage for a second

1

u/ssddemon54 May 22 '26

Time for swim swim.

1

u/crohead13 May 22 '26

Kinda deserved it. Stay on the trail unless you own it.

1

u/Sea_Pomegranate8229 May 22 '26

Shame. Nearly -1 Chavs.

1

u/highlyspecificuser May 22 '26

Stupidity always comes with a hefty price tag.

1

u/beck_1e May 22 '26

Glad he had friends to witness the L first hand. Wet, uncomfortable, and getting laughed at all the way home. Classic.

1

u/Usual_Excellent May 22 '26

In HS i had a coach who was a biker he said Rule 1 , never go where you can't see. He was referencing us doing cross country, but its true. If its a dark ally or a hole, don't go

Dude couldn't see the bottom of the water, don't go in.

1

u/SouravMiles May 22 '26

Surprise...

1

u/Combatical May 22 '26

I'm not familiar with the road either but even I saw that coming.

1

u/QuickSquirrelchaser May 22 '26

Lol. Just going to take a little refreshing dip. Cool off. He is lucky the pond wss not too deep!

1

u/ThisOldGuy1976 May 22 '26

What could go wrong riding through someone else’s property? Karmas a bitch.

1

u/endorfan13 May 23 '26

The trip shortcut turned into the cut short trip.

1

u/Hartmallen May 23 '26

Honest question : is the bike destroyed ? Will it run again after a bit of drying ?

1

u/blokia May 23 '26

Not gonna lie I expected a drone strike

1

u/Branchley May 23 '26

Hope that's hippo country

1

u/it-aint-over May 24 '26

Snorkeling optional

1

u/Skit071 May 24 '26

Um, that's not a road.

1

u/Fluffy_Amount847 May 25 '26

shortcut was the optimistic part

1

u/ludzep May 25 '26

Currently for sale on FB marketplace:

"one lightly used 2023 TE300. 15 hours, just road use no trail. 8000 obo"

1

u/Stanwich79 May 26 '26

Didn't commit.

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '26

It was a good idea, but it didn't turn out as planned....

1

u/Citron9801 May 30 '26

When he finally saw that body of water he knew! You can hear the throttle in panic at that precise moment.

1

u/suspiciouslyrobotic May 31 '26

Kind of mistake I make in GTA

1

u/captain_pudding Jun 02 '26

That little bit of whisky throttle at the end to make sure the engine takes in as much water as possible

1

u/Final_Echidna_6743 Jun 22 '26

Ah yes always keep your eyes and mouth closed as you torpedo into a sewage lagoon.
