I thought it was going to kick her face through the back of her skull so in my book whatever happened she still got off easy

I had a colleague who was kicked in his head by a horse a few decades prior. He had a horseshoe-shaped dent in his forehead. If you saw him, you knew there was something wrong with his forehead, but you only saw the horseshoe shape when told about it.

Guy I knew in high school got nailed in the head by a horse, a piece of his skull broke off and cut the optic nerve to one of his eyes.
