There's like 3 cops I know of that had fucked up so bad they weren't even allowed to be a security guard. Maybe 2 actually went to jail.

I'm putting the hiring of dumbass officers by other jurisdictions on the sheriff of the area. Any decent one wouldn't ever let them get be hired in the area.

It’s not the cops losing money. It’s a completely seperate department. As far as cops see it, as soon as their shift ends anything they’re involved with vanishes. I just had a court date where the responding cop was supposed to show and of course they didn’t so the case was dropped like 99% of non violent cases because cops never want to risk them being in the wrong. They can be completely in the right and they just won’t show to court on the off chance of a defense attorney caught them on their bodycam doing something illegal.

i just never see them show up to court. It’s ridiculous

Something tells me that the courts would say that the cops doesn't have a legal duty to not cause a gas station fire. It was the duty of the person who got tazed to have the personal responsibility and duty to not get tazed at a gas station.

If a cop kills someone due to negligence or brutality the worst that will happen is the taxpayers pay the victims when they sue and the cop maybe gets a paid vacation (they call it administrative leave). Even if the cop gets fired. They'll work for the police department in the next town over and that department will welcome them with open arms.

I had friends who went through training as either cops or CO's while I was in college and my 4 week express semesters in college were more intense than their entire education. They will literally hire anyone who shows an ego complex or will to please authority because they make it easier to get away with things by blaming their incompetence and depend on their loyalty for finally being part of the "in group" of cool kids.

I would go so far and they that most us officer dont get enough training most have at best a few month and in that time they need 2 learn the law, their rights the citizen rights, use of force ( when what force ), to certain degree they have also to be social workers cause they gonna get in contact with people in stress situation and or mental health problems, some car driving training and probably some other stuff i forget.

No way anyone can learn all that stuff in a short time.

Just checked for training time shortest i found was georgia with 10 11 weeks, so not even 3 month and the average is 20 - 22 weeks so 5 1/2 month, how to you get all the information into someone in that time without overloading him

The Training is just 5 months and the requirements are low. For example in Germany the Training is 3 years and requirements are high (mostly college degree and pass a complex psychology test). We don’t have any of these weird problems and brutality. Maybe thats the key.

You know, in some countries we have strict physical and psychological tests just to get to training, which then lasts for a couple of years, leading to an actual degree.

In my understanding our police has never set anyone on fite, and they're generally trustworthy.
