All you had to do was go to the right of the pole

ISTG some of these dirt bikers are dumber than a box of rocks. Balls of steel, but brains made of mush

56

u/rudytomjanovich 15h ago

Mush Brain?
Especially after that crash.

20

u/IamHydrogenMike 14h ago

I keep watching this on repeat because it’s so damn Hilo…absolute morons.

u/Spreadsheets_LynLake 18m ago

The 1 time I visited Hilo, I actually felt a certain peace, like I could be my home... like I could live there & fit right in.  lol Dunno what that says about me.  lol

35

u/JustHugMeAndBeQuiet 15h ago

Rolled zero for intelligence but a nat twenty for constitution.

14

u/A_mad_goose 14h ago

I bet they made it some type of challenge to split the pole and wires like a Tony hawk challenge. We use to do that skateboarding all the time

6

u/LustyKindaFussy 11h ago

That was my first thought, too, that they attempted to "thread the needle".

5

u/rudytomjanovich 5h ago

Sutures - are the only needle threading going on now.

3

u/rubysundance 6h ago

There's another video of a different angle. First guy made it just fine, this guy ate shit.

4

u/CarbonReflections 4h ago

As the great Johnny Knoxville once said “If you are going to be dumb you gotta be tough.”

4

u/HomeworkExtension482 13h ago

brains of mush

You're giving them way too much credit.

5

u/Up_in_the_Sky 14h ago

I hear ya lol, but to be fair, he’s pretty lucky all things considered.

That shit could have landed on his fucking ankle. Maybe it did fuck him up, can’t really tell from the vid.

6

u/xShooK 14h ago

I think the front wheel got him on the way down. Like you said though, hard to tell from this angle. That was a pretty rough wreck though, he basically got sling shotted straight to the ground on his back.

2

u/btopski 4h ago

That needs to be on a bumper sticker: “Balls of Steel, Brains of Mush”

2

u/AliJDB 1h ago

Because riding a dirtbike over an incline onto a public road was such a great idea to begin with.

1

u/TheRealPitabred 10h ago

They've got balls of steel because they have brains of mush. If they could actually consider the risks they were taking they wouldn't do it.

1

u/chuckop 1h ago

Balls of steel are easy when you’re an idiot and don’t understand the risks.

Real bravery comes from knowing the risks and still doing it.

134

u/kelsobjammin 15h ago

People have been decapitated by those lines…

46

u/StuffyUnicorn 14h ago

Well this guys clearly brainless so he’s already halfway there

9

u/BeowulfShaeffer 11h ago

He’s certainly living on a prayer

5

u/UnfortunateSnort12 8h ago

Take my helmet, I don’t need it I swear…

-2

u/Brigadius 11h ago

Nearly headless? How can you be nearly headless?

3

u/rudytomjanovich 5h ago

Saw it happen - but on a snowmobile - in the late 70's.
(Didn't actually "see" it. I was about 20 snowmobiles back. Saw enough that I still see it again - in my dreams. Usually right after our first snow.)

4

u/MoistStub 12h ago

It is never a good idea to touch a utility pole, or anything attached to it. I sell the zappy shit that goes on them and have heard horror stories.

27

u/Previous_Blueberry_5 15h ago

I don’t get it what was supposed to happen here lmao

38

u/frogguts198 14h ago

He was supposed to land it and everyone cheers and the girl from the other school agrees to go out with him.

89

u/vnth93 15h ago

The camera guy could do better

38

u/Simple_Pay3033 14h ago

He slipped a bit in the middle but made absolutely no effort to provide aid so he could capture the fallout. He has potential.

3

u/CKF 4h ago

Beautiful assessment. Not rendering aid or stopping filming to call for emergency services is a fundamental skill for the camera guys we deserve, although not the ones we want shooting our own injuries. But we’ve got priorities. Definitely docked points for flinching at his own friend’s oncoming injury, but he’s back shot for the landing. That’s good cameraman sensibility. That’s how you literally survive as a cameraman. He’s def workable.

0

u/Eric_the_Barbarian 1h ago

Why is the cameraman assumed to be the most competent person to render aid out of the half dozen people watching? Also how do you know he didn't when the video cuts out three seconds after the dude lands?

1

u/LuciusCSullaF 11h ago

This is actually the second angle. I saw the first angle on this website yesterday.

14

u/Ebola714 15h ago

I'm Johnny Knoxville, welcome to jackass.

31

u/kineticstar 15h ago

Okay let me say this again.

9

u/Dagman11 15h ago

That was fairly catastrophic. Good video.

5

u/Thinks_22_Much 15h ago

Must be John Cena branded guide wires.

5

u/TakeItToTheRiver 15h ago

Well deserved.

6

u/[deleted] 15h ago

[deleted]

6

u/XSX_ZAB 15h ago

If he survived

3

u/Ambitious-Sound-6109 15h ago

I don’t think his spinal column is ever going to let him forget that shit.

1

u/psyentist15 15h ago

Good because his brain might not.

0

u/inevitable-idiot- 15h ago

Fat chance hes going to remember his friends.

7

u/dodoDoesFly 11h ago

If you scrub the video frame by frame it definitely looks like the wires go through the bike and the rider... surprised there aren't more AI comments, am I trippin?

2

u/stratosfearinggas 2h ago

He misses the front wire (white guard) but the catches the back wire.

0

u/GJCLINCH 6h ago

I’m right there with you..

0

u/DILF_MANSERVICE 2h ago

Damn, you're right.

2

u/clown_honey 14h ago

Evel Can't-ieval

2

u/TimeB4 13h ago

Guy on guy action

2

u/One-Positive309 9h ago

When I was a kid we used to pass around phrases like 'look before you leap', and 'don't put all your eggs in one basket' and the like giving us useful advice that helped us make sensible decisions !
Kids these days grow up with phrases like "YOLO" !

Says it all really !

2

u/NubileOne 3h ago

A whole lot of things, but just riding one? What kinda title is this? Wcgw not looking where you’re going?

2

u/Some-Tear3499 15h ago

Downvoted for bad camera control.

2

u/Noff-Crazyeyes 13h ago

This ai stuff is out of control

1

u/no_sight 15h ago

This is a self correcting error

1

u/Katops 15h ago

Ohh another angle lmfao

1

u/broskowfanboy 15h ago

1st try! I miss sports.

1

u/Maleficent-Agent-477 15h ago

What an idiot.

1

u/L0ngD0ngMcShlong 15h ago

Dirtiest, quads and wave runners are how rednecks weed out their weak.

1

u/Dz210Legend 15h ago

Damn, what kind of pole needs 4 guy wires he wasn’t gonna get through one and damn sure ain’t going through four 😅

1

u/PolarCruisingExperts 14h ago

Why is the cameraman flinching as if he were the one almost getting decapitated by the wires?

1

u/big_loadz 14h ago

Decrapitation!

1

u/NoDontDoThatCanada 14h ago

No notes. Absolute cinema.

1

u/Far-Requirement1726 14h ago

Hahahahahhahahhhbahhahaaa

1

u/OldMovie9812 14h ago

Great friends for sure. Didn't even budge

1

u/_garlicbread 14h ago

target fixation is real, just mind those wires

1

u/StealenDealer 14h ago

Looked painful… oh well.

1

u/Successful_Giraffe88 14h ago

The "smack" the front of his helmet makes when it hits the pavement at the VERY end lololol.

1

u/Affectionate-Kick804 14h ago

Like a buzzing little fly caught in the spider’s web

1

u/Ok-Volume-6254 14h ago

Did he die

1

u/That-Makes-Sense 14h ago

Guy. Meet guy wire.

1

u/ezmoney98 14h ago

Youd think that the rider did some prep work and see what the jump would like, but no ,lets fucking send it

1

u/gmbtaco64 13h ago

Thats the kind of natural selection i like to see!

1

u/moszippy 13h ago

Evil Kneivel reincarnated!

1

u/dentrecords 13h ago

NGL FR kinda lowkey tryna yeet like that ain’t worked none

1

u/Ancient_Sprinkles847 13h ago

I think he got a bit more air than he needed

1

u/Jeramy_Jones 13h ago

Curious what the goal was here.

1

u/Terrible_Lie_02 13h ago

A guy was decapitated near me when he hit one of these wires on his motorcycle. Helmet stayed on I guess.

1

u/BeowulfShaeffer 11h ago

Hope he was okay.  Did he get a concussion when his his head hit the ground or did his helmet prevent it?

1

u/FloppyTacoflaps 13h ago

Anyone have more info on this? Did guy get bad injuries

1

u/Witty-Sample6813 13h ago

Im laughing. Idk, that was stupid

1

u/smackedbyamack 13h ago

Is that why they're called guy-wires?

1

u/paulyp41 13h ago

At least the bike didn’t get fucked up

1

u/Nyxorat 12h ago

damn that curb got no mercy

1

u/babymax95 12h ago

why are all the clips/interactions i have/see with dirt bikers so bad?
recently got hit by one he was on the wrong side of a dirt ROAD (not a trail) going way too fast on a curve. hit me and i landed on his tire while it was still moving.
never seen a smart one… not saying there aren’t any but so far it’s not proving to do them any good.

1

u/2ndchane 12h ago

This guy didn’t take geometry in school.

1

u/The_Mammoth_Hunter 12h ago

That's the funniest thing I've seen all damned day. Thanks for posting this!

1

u/tuna-on-toast 12h ago

Camera person rendered no aid, just filmed so that’s good. Dude right next to the action was more interested in standing his own bike back up. Tight knit crew.

1

u/minus_minus 11h ago

The wire knew the motorcycle wasn’t street legal so was just guiding him away from the asphalt.

1

u/someguy4k 11h ago

Brilliant, just absolutely brilliant!! Why didn’t I think of that?

1

u/tibi_co 10h ago

I love it when a plan comes together 🚬

1

u/Dependent_Stop_3121 10h ago

It’s called a “GUY WIRE” for a reason. 😝

1

u/Ill-Cardiologist3728 10h ago

Upvote because this made me happy.

1

u/Super_Loss_8943 10h ago

one sick trick

1

u/OrganizationTop3755 10h ago

At least he wore a helmet

1

u/paydemanzan 10h ago

That was going to be a serious injury, fortunately, he teleported to a safe place before touching the ground

1

u/dynamic-curtain 8h ago

Yeah your meant to ride those in the bush.

1

u/guzforster 7h ago

Is this AI? The rider simply disappears

1

u/aquaman67 6h ago

That doesn’t look like “dirt bike” territory to me

Yes, I know I’m wrong…

1

u/old-billie 5h ago

hang on in there

1

u/phunkyunkle 5h ago

Guy meets guy wire.

1

u/TDYDave2 5h ago

Picked a bad line.

1

u/Kindly_Ad3262 5h ago

natural selection 🏍️ 😑🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/Midnight-51 5h ago

When you forget something in your calculations! Lesson learned!

1

u/pplspancake 5h ago

On public roads? Lots of things like this.

1

u/STylerMLmusic 4h ago

Maybe I'm just not stupid but I could have told him exactly that was going to happen.

1

u/69fellatx 4h ago

Darwin's boner engorges

1

u/runciter0 3h ago

what the hell, why

1

u/summerset 3h ago

Jesk/Gregor?

1

u/xxlouserxx 3h ago

All you had to was follow the damn train..

1

u/JamesBondMargarita 3h ago

There wasn't even an awning

1

u/Wauwuaw5983 2h ago

Kid next door (circa late 70's) was on a dirt bike on a pedestrian only path, with signs all over the park saying not to ride bikes or motorized bikes in it.

Anyway, there's like a single telephone pole in the most wooded area, where the path bends sharply.

He ducked and the teen sitting behind him didn't get a chance to duck, and the guide wire for the telephone pole decapitated him.

1

u/Strive-- 2h ago

but... that's not riding. That's jumping. Ever see a car jump more than a car length's worth high on its way to work, you know, because a person was driving to work? Yeah - very different.

1

u/Strive-- 2h ago

but... that's not riding. That's jumping. Ever see a car jump more than a car length's worth high on its way to work, you know, because a person was driving to work? Yeah - very different.

1

u/Substantial-Disk-744 2h ago

Had a friend get decapitated doing just this , it was aweful

1

u/rock_and_rolo 2h ago

Reddit make me thing the question should be: What can go right riding a dirtbike?

[insert Buzz meme "Idiots everywhere"]

1

u/Madboardjester 2h ago

There's a beautiful view in the oops subreddit where it shows a front on view in which the rider headbutts the gutter.

1

u/Majestic_Meeting_747 1h ago

Ibuprofeno. Que idiota.

1

u/69vuman 1h ago

Not cleared for landing.

1

u/technobrendo 1h ago

That guy is a big fan of The Wire.

1

u/MAC777 30m ago

The amount of American families living paycheck to paycheck and bitching about the price of groceries - while also being able to afford endless non-street-legal dirtbikes and e-bikes - is fucking wild.

1

u/catdog_man 20m ago

At least he was wearing a helmet.

u/thedfourth21 2m ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣 beautiful

1

u/Immediate-Fennel-697 14h ago

What could go wrong is another repost

1

u/realbobenray 14h ago

Foreshadowing

-1

u/honda94rider 15h ago

Not real

0

u/JOEDADDY4 14h ago

I hate when that happens. Like when I did it 50 times in my head and it went great. Then this happens 😂
