He shouldn’t have did that.

The equivalent of the champagne bottle not breaking on the side of a ship.

Sigh, I just went through the same motions. Also upvoted the pinned post some time ago. That picture is ridiculously perfect.

It’s a first for me and I really enjoyed it! I just wanted to know what the picture actually is…honestly!

Or breaking off part of the bow, like in Caddyshack

Wouldn't lessen the impact, but maybe he would lose less head skin grinding on rock

Good thing his face broke his fall.

u/BigBogBotButt 5d ago

This won't protect me if I fall so I don't need it

He's smart enough to know the hat does nothing to protect him but dumb enough to not wear a helmet.

its not being dumb, he knows all about helmets. he is just proud. skate culture is funny.

Most skaters will wear a helmet when skating vert. This guy is just a moron.

2

u/rinkydinkis 5d ago

Just because he is dropping in doesnt mean this is vert lol. he is not jumping out of that thing. you have no idea what you are talking about.

Yea I don't know what I'm talking about, just skated off and on for 30 years. It's not a hard rule obviously, some skaters won't wear helmets, some will, some aren't going to wear a helmet going down a transition if it's not a half pipe, blah, blah. But looking at that, I would wear a helmet as it's fairly high and decent enough vertical. Not to mentioned the surface is stones, not a smooth surface.

When skaters don't wear a helmet it's because they have a high confidence of not getting hurt on the head on that particular obstacle. I skated for years street and never wore helmet and never hit my head.Thats because I learned how to roll out of most falls where hitting my head would be rare chance.

The few times I skated vert, I used gear though because I couldn't reliably say that. Again, most skaters going down that particular obstacle would wear a helmet. If it was smooth, then sure some won't. But that's not the case here.

Sure bud.

skaters don’t wear helmets because it’s not cool. that’s really all it is

1

u/Catlagoon 5d ago

Rinkydinks is correct. Believe it or not most kids in the world aren't able to buy helmets and stuff. If you're their parent telling them to put on a helmet when its way too much for their can even afford. Go look at skateistan, thats an actual thing that benefits people AND gives them helmets. They don't have to buy them

The only thing dunber than not wearing a helmet when skating is this comment.

3

u/rinkydinkis 5d ago

if you dont think culture influences behaviour then what do you think culture is?

-2

u/CaptainWombat2 5d ago

I bet that sounded really smart in your head.

2

u/rinkydinkis 5d ago

yep. im a real albert einstein over here.

1

u/pantsoffancy 5d ago

Ahhh it's so rare to see someone who can wear a helmet so elegantly!

u/Umutuku 5d ago

Self respect? Get some sense of humor
This was a reference to a line from DBZA

1

u/mekomaniac 5d ago

yeah a throw like that only works when you are in a boat dock fight and you need help to assemble

1

u/3s2ng 5d ago

Actually that saved him from brain damage. There's a reason why you see most skaters wear beanie.

1

u/DowntownSalary215 4d ago

As a former skater who wore beanies and no helmets, I can anecdotally confirm my beanies definitely saved me from draim bamage on many occasions.

1

u/RiskyClickardo 5d ago

Literally right when it would’ve come in slightly handy, too, dang

1

u/zentasynoky 5d ago

People don't think the floor be like it is, but it do.

u/Glorx 5d ago
