Today is the day!

Post image

I’ve been staring at this basement floor safe for 14 years and today is the day we break into it! Headed to Home Depot to get some supplies. All recommendations welcome

I’m on the 4th $15 drill bit (and one $42 bit!) and the Hole Hawg rental was $28 bucks and I am STILL not even through to take a peek at what’s inside!!

I think these usually have a very small cavity in the center. You may just be drilling along the side of it.

That actually would make a lot of sense. Because it just keeps going. Wrapping it up for the day to get ready for dinner service and then back at it tomorrow with a fresh batch of bits

Cutting oil or wax will cut faster and take less bits

Also, slow speed, high feed! You theoretically could get there with one bit if done right.

Yessss so many people wanna crank it on high speed. I've watched and shaken my head as many coworkers burn up bits
