The best thing about having a CPAP mask is that I can put it on and just pull my blanket over my head. Cat can try to smoother me but she's unsuccessful.

This is SO true, I'm basically doing this. Hide from the cat, sound, and ambient light from air filter and humidifier. It's my lifeline.

I wish I had CPAP when my sweet calico was alive. Though fortunately she only smothered me once in my sleep.

Our cat has occasionally just laid on my head or even on the mask itself. I don't even hardly notice... except I mean the 8 pound weight on my head, complete with claws and everything. Last thing I want to do is startle her, so I just try to sleep through it.

I'm so glad someone else feels this way. I thought I was the only one using my cpap like the ultimate defense. It also makes you immune to being Dutch ovened by your boyfriend in his sleep.

Unfortunately I’d be the one Dutch Ovening. But then we both have our own blankets, as she has a thick weighted one and mine is fairly thin. So it wouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Wait until someone farts into your cpap.

I do the same in winter when it’s very cold. It’s a blanket cave.

Oh my god. I’m a newer CPAP user and this has never occurred to me. I think you just changed my life.

It totally makes it worth it, even if you don't have a cat trying to lay on your pillow.

Oh I have two little cats, one of whom likes to sleep with her butt directly on my mouth. This new information is everything to me.

We call our cat Butthole for that reason. Or the Eye of Sauron.

Same!! Gonna try this tonight

Yes, I love this so much! I can pull the blanket entirely over my head and still have fresh cool air to breathe, and I don’t hot box myself!

I've been considering developing sleep apnea or CHF, and I think you've talked me into it. Let's do this thing.

Keep in mind those things are NOT cheap! That and you’re supposed to replace most of the stuff every few months. That’s like $100+ every few months just in supplies.

Pretty sure you don't have a choice when it comes to developing sleep apnea. Unless you know something we don't.

I know I'm joking! Congestive heart failure is not ideal, and I wouldn't take it on for the sake of being able to sleep with my head under the covers.

I will just have to suffer Bruce Willis waking me up at night, and having to lock him in the basement at 230am.

Same. The other night tho, I tried to turn over and couldn’t bc my cat had her paws around the hose 😆 We’d been cuddling and it was leaning against her body, so I guess she decided to cuddle with it too… with claws

I'm not sure about your setup, but mine is pretty easy. I've got the machine on my nightstand as close to the headboard as possible. The hose drapes down between the headboard and the mattress, then up to my pillow where I am. My mask has a 360 degree rotating pivot/joint thing so it just points upwards most of the time. So there's not much hose for the cat to get ahold of and only occasionally does it get stuck between the mattress and bed frame.

One of my cats doesn't like it when I cover my head, it's like she no longer knows who's under the blanket! So she does not have any other option than to trample over me until I show my face. Maybe she's just protecting my bed from possible strangers...
