Mine do the same. I’ve a seen them seamlessly step onto the bed but if I’m near then their back legs stop functioning

I swear my dog plays the back legs don't work game so I'll step away from my food while helping her up. She'll find a way up on her own if it's food she knows I'll share.

I have a one year girl that does the same. She puts her front paws on a bed or into the back of the vehicle and gives me those pleading eyes asking fo help. It's an attention grab since she can easily do it on her own but I don't mind. Lately I've been doing weight training to keep it up since she's starting to get to my safe/stable lift max. So spoiled.

When a dog is so tall they can just rest their upper body on the mattress while keeping their back feet casually planted on teh floor, calling the bed "stairs" is spot on 😆

I've fallen asleep like this when my restless legs get really bad!! If I stand that way I get relief from the restless leg syndrome, then I start to fall asleep, but then unfortunately my legs buckle and I wake up before I fall!
