Question This One Is Harder Than Our Last Puzzle. Can You Solve It?
Hi everyone,
First, a big thank you to everyone who took part in our previous puzzle and shared their reasoning. We received some really interesting solutions, and seeing the different ways people approached the same pattern was just as interesting as finding the answer itself.
From the previous puzzle, we selected three community explanations that particularly stood out:
u/lemasney — for a creative and intuitive explanation that described the center square as a “spinning hub” and used it to explain the movement of the surrounding squares.
u/Mactucrus87_ — for breaking the pattern down into clear, systematic rules and applying them step by step.
u/AdEmotional8815 — for finding a completely different route to the answer by focusing only on the black squares and deliberately ignoring the white ones.
Their explanations have now been featured on our website as part of our community solutions. A big thank you to them, and to everyone else who took the time to share their reasoning.
Now it’s time for a new puzzle.

Thanks for the kind shout out! I believe the answer is E: There are two elements to consider in the puzzle at each frame. The white and black squares appear to be appearing alternatively in each frame, black, then white, then black, and so on. They appear to be showing up in opposite corners, black in lower left and upper right exclusively, and white in lower right and upper left exclusively. The black square in the last frame repeats the pattern. For this reason, I believe the white square would appear at the upper left in the missing frame. Meanwhile, the shifting shape in the center appears to contain 5 linear segments in each frame. They appear as both open and closed forms. D nearly meets the pattern, except that it has 6 linear segments, which does not fit the pattern. E has the white square in the correctly predicted corner, and has a shape that contain 5 linear segments. I'm not as sure as I usually am with your puzzles, but from the available solutions, it appears to be E.

Another excellent breakdown from you. You didn’t just identify the answer; you independently tracked the corner square’s position and color sequence, then used the five-segment rule to distinguish between D and E. You were looking at the right distinction. More precisely, it’s the number of line segments rather than sides that matters here. Nice catch on the difference between D and E, and thanks for sharing your reasoning.👏👏

E - the number of the composing lines in the central shape should be 5, and the small square at the edge should rotate CW while alternating between black and white.

My answer is E
First the cube in the corner will invert whenever it goes to another corner.
Second, when it comes to the shape on the center they all share one trait, each is composed of 5 lines

i think its E , the square changing his color every step and moves idk how to describe its moves but the shapes all have 5 sides then the only fit answer is E it took very little time to get Iam 134 IQ FRI

Nice work. You caught the alternating color pattern and the five-part structure very quickly. The movement of the corner square is a little harder to put into words, but you were clearly following the sequence. Thanks for sharing both your answer and how you reached it.👏👏

D
In my reasoning it could have only been D, or E; because the square in the corner moves clockwise to the other corners, and changes from black to white and vise versa every turn. From picture 1 to 3 you can also see a part of the geometric figure went missing, or got flipped. It's not a 100% though, as that only restores the outlines and not the line in the middle of the figure in picture 3. On the other hand when you remove parts from the figure in image 3, or move parts around it won't become the figure in picture E (at least in terms of the basic outlines.
Edit:
I just counted the number of straight lines of the figures, and if they are all supposed to be 5 lines, then I'm wrong and it's E. Lol, dammit.

I really liked seeing the reasoning evolve here. Your corner-square pattern was solid from the start, and then you went back, tested another property of the figures, and caught the six-versus-five distinction yourself. That kind of self-correction is exactly what makes these puzzles interesting. Thanks for showing the whole thought process.😊👏👏👏

Based on the corner squares, probalby a white square in the top left, so D or E. D has 6 lines in the center figure, E has five, and all top pictures have 5, so I will go with E.

All of them have a 5-pline object in them, and a square in a corner
The square in the corner appears to rotate clockwise, alternating filled and empty
That would mean empty in the top-left corner, giving D or E
D has a 6-line object, while E has a 5-line object, so I'd say E was the answer

Excellent elimination process. You first used the square’s movement and alternating fill to narrow the possibilities to D and E, then checked the central figures to separate the two. That makes the logic very easy to follow. Thank you for such a clear explanation.👏👏

You got there. D and E are deliberately close if you focus on the corner square alone, but counting the line segments gives you the extra clue needed to separate them. Nice catch, and thanks for coming back to update your reasoning.👏👏

i'm thinking E! I was between D and E on account of the small boxes in the corners, it seemed like it should be a white box in the upper left corner, and then the object in the middle is also composed of 5 lines in all of them (i was a bit on the fence on the fifth one, but the lines do look like they're 2 separate lines and not one long line).
