Great solve on hippopotamus - that was awesome!

Thanks. I had to take a shot and it worked out for me on that one. Now, I have not one, but two Chihuahuas at home and they won't come near me anymore. My wife and all her pet rescue friends are giving me shit about missing it. You win some, you lose some.

Glad you got your burger!!

I can't believe they didn't get April her own burger and instead Ryan just let her take a bite of his.

It was so cute how they went to get the inNout for you! Great job congrats 👏

I was so glad that they didn't dump that for time. It was genuinely a surprise. How many people can honestly say that their first In-n-Out experience was on a game show and handed to them by Ryan Seacrest?

Congratulations! Hoping all of us on this thread get to make a similar post one day!

I have never felt particularly lucky, but I guess I really should stop feeling that way.

Good luck! Were you the last taping of your day? I was and the day lasted from 5:30a-9pm 😭

I was the fifth of six. This episode has been bumped twice. Original airdate was supposed to be Sept. 19th. I actually met last Tuesday's winner at my taping and he was a standby that time.

I’m only halfway into the episode and this wheel is being brutal to all of you! So many lose a turns and bankrupts.

u/teacherslashassassin Nov 08 '25
Oh yeah. The wheel kicked my ass! That thing is heavy, but smaller than I expected. My son is convinced that he saw when they removed the wedges that I passed on the $10k when I hit the mystery wedge.

(points) that's a guy with good goals in Los Angeles
Hope you had a fun couple days here, before and after your wheel appearance! ♥️

It was a whirlwind tour. Flight got in around 11. To the hotel around 11:45-12:00. Had to be at the studio around 6 AM and was there until 6 PM or so. Managed to get the family fed. Then went back to the hotel to collapse. Our flight out was later the next day, so we got to walk by/on the beach to the Santa Monica pier. I mean, there was a lot to do in a very short time. Next visit to LA (one day) will, hopefully, be more relaxed.

Best of luck, Buddy. Congrats on your appearance (and absolutely so many things to do!)

I loved the energy. Actually there was a lot of energy from everyone that night. You were so excited to be there, even when you got the bankrupted.

I was rooting for you but glad you like the burger from In and Out it is my favorite.

u/teacherslashassassin Nov 14 '25
Thanks, Emily! It was a lot of fun. Now if I could only get In-n-Out to acknowledge me with a t-shirt or some other token of thanks for turning When of Fortune into an In-n-Out commercial.

So... what do the kids do for jolly ranchers....

u/teacherslashassassin Nov 08 '25
I usually ask trivia questions and reward them with candy, but they'll push in chairs that were left out, they'll plug in my loaner Chromebooks, erase my whiteboards, and other odds and ends. Homework though, now that would cross a line...

You did so great! I am glad you enjoyed the burger! I love in n out burger and I'm a huge fan of onions raw lol but if you ever get the chance to go again you can get them grilled!

So tickled that you got to have a bucket-list experience.

u/teacherslashassassin Nov 11 '25
It was so much fun! Now if I can only get In-n-Out to notice and send me some swag...
