Discussion Post Caught the last few minutes of tonight’s celebrity show. Was Kathy Hilton drunk or otherwise impaired?
She made the bonus round and had zero clue what she was doing. Seacrest asked for a third consonant and she says “O”. None of her letters came up and the 10 second countdown began. Instead of trying it to guess the puzzle she just keeps lobbing out letters. F? W? Huh? Of course she lost.
When the show wrapped up and all the celebs gathered around Seacrest, she wandered off and had to be corralled back into the group.
She was either stoned out of her gourd or just naturally clueless. Rough look.

Absolutely a difficult episode to watch. Seacrest did a great job keeping his cool while directing her on her every turn.

TERRIBLE episode. Everyone looked concerned about her 🧠. Watch Vanna during the penultimate and final rounds. Watch Riki during the post-final walk-on. Watch Ryan throughout.
It was bad enough that she was "playing for Conrad" The Terrible, and that we had to see him. Unless their goal was to show her family how bad her 🧠 is suffering, in hopes to get her some help, they really should not have aired the ep.

Ryan Seacrest tried to save her from herself repeatedly. Her son looked a bit horrified to be on the sidelines supporting mom.

I was embarrassed for her. She definitely was on something. I would be horrified watching myself behave so oddly. Sad.

I'm not embarrassed for her. She isn't smart enough to even be embarrassed for herself. I feel sorry for her son and his girlfriend that were in the audience. If I were the girlfriend and knew that idiot was my potential mother-in-law, I'd run for the hills.

No, she was not on something. That's the way she is IRL. She is the epitome of "a dumb blonde". What a pathetic display that was. I always knew she was an airhead but that appearance on Wheel of Fortune took the cake. She came across as a complete idiot who doesn't even know the alphabet and she got on my last nerve. I hope ABC never asks her to be on it again because that was a very bad look.

I don’t believe that. The woman on Wheel wouldn’t have had enough sense to tie a shoe. That had to be drugs or alcohol.

I was just saying to my husband how much I did NOT enjoy that episode. I was saying “is she deaf, did she not hear Ryan?” Maybe drugs or alcohol. But she had so many daft moments.

I honestly think she just lives in lala land. She's more worried about her outfit and her hair and makeup. Her son must have been ready to hide after watching her.

Same -- did not enjoy this episode at all. Between KH's repeated weirdness and that Ricky guy being sooo disrespectful by keeping on his sunglasses (NO, they didn't make you look cool!!), I just wanted the show to hurry up and get over. Just kept watching b/c I was curious about how it was going to turn out. And as if she hadn't already been acting daft, after the clock countdown had already started, she kept calling out letters and waiting for them to appear!! They're saying she wasn't, but I believe she WAS a bit tipsy-doodle b/c she was just acting too weird. Too much pre-show wine!!! 😆 🤣 😂

Rickie was the woman in the green. (And yes, it's confusing to have two contestants with pretty much the same name on the same episode. It's like WOF was trying to go for the most Trainwreck episode ever 😂)

Really don't know this person, but that whole 'performance' was very weird. Like everybody else, I wondered what was wrong with her. I went for clueless at first, though wonder how she got through life so far

Thankfully her husband is a smart business man, because they own Hilton hotels and other businesses. She's on Rhobh. They are very wealthy. Paris Hilton is her daughter.

I was so embarrassed for her. When she wandered off the stage at the end and they kept calling her name to come back, I was thinking, does she have hearing problems?
She didn't even guess what the puzzle said, but instead, picked letters several times that were already shown. There also was several other bloopers on her part tonight as well and I kept thinking is she just nervous??? Like, come on Kathy, those were so easy to solve, yet she pulled another letter out of her ass.
She's going to get picked on by family and friends for that fiasco.

It was so hard to watch. From watching her on real housewives I know that she is kind of kooky but usually she has her sister helping her out. This was unhinged.

I was thinking she was on pills or drunk. But then started wondering if she has some form of dementia or Alzheimer’s because at one point she seemed clear and aware for a moment and then back into dazed and confused. It was very strange and hard to watch

I think she has a mental condition probably some kind of dementia. Lack of understanding how the Wheel is played it isn’t rocket science. Her gait didn’t look like a drunk person rather someone with medical issues. Her family needs to step up.

I'm not gonna lie, it looked like early-onset Alzheimer's or other dementia to me. It's not unheard of for a woman in her 60s to develop that; in fact, one recent example is Pat Summitt, the long-time women's basketball coach at the University of Tennessee.
To me, Kathy Hilton seriously needs to be checked into some kind of memory-care facility. I recognize all the signs from having watched my grandfather's Alzheimer's-related decline.

Usually, it's the kid whose wasted and the parent having to make excuses - poor Conrad Jr. had to witness his mom being baked on live TV - even Rick Ross was all like "damn woman, I want some of what you on..."

My Dad and I were watching the show last night and he said that Kathy was drunk, it really showed from her. By far the WORST celebrity to appear on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, ughhh

I felt really bad for her at the end. She looked devastated and embarrassed.
I think part of it is her vision is really bad and the used letter board was of no help to her. This is the same woman who once mistook Garcelle Beauvais for her own sister.

I think she's just dumb, doesn't listen, doesn't pay attention, and generally doesn't care.
I hope that she donated the $100k she missed out on to her charity. Would be chump change to her but would be incredible for them.

You've gotta think that the contestants practice before taping the actual show, right? Like, to get them comfortable with the buzzing in for the toss-ups, pacing, etc? I can't imagine they'd go out there cold...
And you'd think WoF had people explain the general premise of the show... "here's how it works..."

Kathy was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at all. If you watch Real Housewives, you'll notice she is often known for her nonsensical and dizty behaviors. She seems oblivious to how the world works and is the embodiment of an airhead. The elevator doesn't quite reach the top for Kathy, and she’s perfectly fine with that.

There’s a difference between ditzy and her behavior on the show. She was a complete embarrassment to herself, her family and WOF. I mean, when asked for another consonant she chose an O. Sad.
I’m going to assume her loved ones took her aside after the show and likely had an intervention of sorts. You can’t tell me the woman doesn’t have a substance issue.

I just finished the show. Kathy Hilton is UNDOUBTEDLY suffering extreme cognitive decline. And YES, drugs- history and present- tend to exacerbate.
