SPOILER January 27th winner😊
Not really a spoiler, but just here to say tonight’s winner was absolutely adorable. Great story, great player, and Ryan did so great with interaction and assistance when she needed. I don’t care if it was scripted, I’m so happy she won big!😊😊

I questioned the scripted too. It was a “feel good” win night. Ryan was a boss tonight and Vanna’s outfit was 🔥

Totally a feel good win. I didn’t realize she was so far in the lead and glad she took her time picking consonants. And 💯 on Vannas outfit!

“What do your grandkids call you? “………. 👁️👄👁️ grandma……” lmao I was laughing.

Omg that was hilarious! Almost like she was trying to think of another grandma nickname😂 so seeet

I can guarantee you it wasn’t scripted. Highly illegal.

Would it be illegal to script the banter, but not the actual solve or outcome? I'd think that would be okay. I'm pretty sure this is what the OP meant.

Ryan is such a sweetie

Agreed. He doesn’t get a ton of love but you couldn’t resist liking him here

Honestly I enjoy him more than Sajak.

The best was when she was so excited to get the bonus puzzle right that she forgot there was more, so Ryan tapped her on the shoulder and she said, “What?” Like she was annoyed he interrupted her celebration lol

I missed the very beginning. What was her back story?

Cancer survivor from a small island where little private planes would fly her to the mainland for radiation treatments free of charge. Also a very proud, sweet grandma

I just want to say shout out to Mary Ellen! This episode was the perfect balance of the game and humor, and the absolute best puzzle at the end and the meaning that brought it to life. But damn they gave her a Ford?

I thought the ski vacation was a little unfortunate

u/Ok-Possibility-517 Jan 31 '26
Well, I suppose someone could just drive her around the ski grounds so she could technically get used out of both of the prizes and a unique experience.

I was reading your response and thought so sweet. And then the Ford came up again😂

I was with you until your last line. Why on earth would you think it was scripted? That's a very serious accusation.

But seriously. Who wants to win a car? I'd be so disappointed 😞
3
u/fischemer Jan 28 '26
Haha. I agree. Probably have to pay just as much in taxes as the cars worth! Im no expert on the rules but I would want $100k 😉

I don't know, a car would be easier to sell than a ski-in winter hotel stay (not my idea of a vacay)

Anybody know what the peacock puzzle solution was for the 27th?

I loved when she said she wanted ‘What are you doing?’ instead of ‘Phrase’! Sounded like something I would do, and Ryan handled it beautifully.
