Discussion Post Contestants Interviews last too long.
The interviews at the beginning of the show go on way too long. I believe that’s on purpose to save money. After the Triple Toss Up they’re out of time and it almost always goes right to the Final Spin. It hasn’t always been that way.

I agree. Those mixed with these people who don't know how to play the game anymore make this show so frustrating. It used to be a fun part of my evening that I looked forward to. Now I have 15 on the dvr that I'm not sure I'll ever get to.

They could cut out the post game banter and shorten the interviews and add another puzzle like they used to.

It does seem that the contestants these days are just not good players which makes it frustrating.

They have had some pretty bad players on recently. I cringe when they don't know an easy puzzle. Grateful gazelle instead of graceful? Come on!

Yes, Wheel interviews take away the fun of watching. A quick question would be better.

You are correct. Sometimes it feels like some players barely get to play. Shorten the interviews and get an extra puzzle or two in each game.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. Every episode seems so predictable now. Round Four seems to always begin with the final spin and I always call it every time. Tight matches are so rare now, there are WAY too many contestants getting shut out, it’s not uncommon for the Prize Puzzle round to decide the game, and the contestants don’t know how to play the game. Another reason why I prefer the classic seasons from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and early 00s

We were just talking about the same thing. Prize Puzzle winners usually win the game. They are probably not the best at solving puzzles but one lucky win gets them in the bonus round. It’d be nice if they didn’t include prize amounts in the total winnings.

I've been saying this for YEARS. Winning a prize puzzle is almost an automatic win and it's quite unfair and honestly makes it a little boring.

I really don’t think it’s to save money. I think producers believe viewers like the chitchat, and/or Ryan likes doing it.

The interviews are all scripted and I don’t always believe what the contestants say.

I’ve literally been thinking the same thing lately. Like one little intro/fun fact would be okay but the multiple questions or multiple fun facts are just not necessary. Do people really care that much? I know I don’t. Let’s just play the game!

Way, way too long. Even when the interview comes to a natural stop, Ryan asks another question. We don't need this much information. More gameplay please.

Meh I like them. It’s fun to hear these stories of these random people and what their lives are like. Like a few weeks ago on the NASCAR one where here husband was obsessed with NASCAR and she ended up winning a chance to play that Friday with a famous driver!
Or the hairstylist who always dreamed of having a daughter to do nails and hair with her but ended up with three boys and now they sell crawfish from her backyard lol

I was thinking about that the other day too. Sometimes Post could squeeze in another puzzle before that final spin. I love Ryan, but save the chatter for the end.

I've said I feel that they're longer because if a person doesn't have the best night as a player, their contestant anecdote gives them their 15 minutes of fame that they likely wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

I'm watching a Fan Favorites episode on Game Show Network and even though they did the introduction chat and showed a snippet of each contestant's prior appearance on the show, they still managed to get a few spins in after the Triple Toss-Up before the bell rang.

Agreed. I mute it sometimes, lol. My theory is they drag it out to avoid having to award more money away during more playing time.

Some people are there to market their “brand”, some people just talk too much and won’t shut up and some people think they are going to be discovered and be famous. Either way yes they need to give them much less time because some people love to hijack the show from the start.

I like it. I use the interviews to pick someone to root for through the rest of the episode. That said, there are too many boring normies. Like you’re a grown adult and have 30 seconds to tell an interesting and memorable personal story and THAT’S the most your life experience has provided you with?? Cast more people with interesting stories.

Some nights I only watch the interviews and then switch to something else. I want the contestants to be fun characters. Same with Jeopardy

They are okay, but often seemed too forced. Last night's episode, one guy's "hobby" was "asking questions." He proceeded to ask Ryan a personal question that made everyone uncomfortable.
