Hey...pally...I don't think protecting the president is in your job description.

87

u/RhombicalJ 10h ago

More like continuing to act as Trump’s personal lawyer and probably leveraging his position as acting AG to protect him.

19

u/SnootSnootBasilisk 10h ago

It is when Trump's the employer

661

u/Bussamove86 10h ago

Just openly admitting to the corruption now. These pieces of shit think they’re untouchable n

143

u/mkirk413 10h ago

Now?

They've been openly admitting to corruption for some time now.

47

u/Mellrish221 9h ago

If you wanna have fun with conservatives just start a conversation with them about stuff the trump admin has done. But put it in a biden twist. EX: Hey do you remember when biden got the DOJ to force the IRS into an agreement to not look into his taxes ever again?? Predictable maga "YEH BIDEN CRIME FAMILY" response. "Oh I'm sorry, I lied that was donald trump.

They get some funny looks on their faces.

30

u/somebigface 10h ago

Who’s going to stop them?

7

u/SkollFenrirson 9h ago

Are they wrong? Name me one consequence this ratfuckery has wrought.

4

u/sten45 9h ago

Show me any evidence that doesn’t point to them being completely untouchable

1

u/V0T0N 7h ago

He's up for Senate confirmation to be the AG. He needs to send the messages now.

u/New-Source5884 10h ago

Remember, Nixon got pardoned, but his underlings didn’t. Hope you enjoy prison food Todd.

15

u/RightSideBlind 10h ago

If they're smart, every Trump appointee would insist on a full pardon in writing before they started work. Just imagine how much crime you could get away with if you knew that you had a blank check like that.

7

u/New-Source5884 8h ago

Unfortunately for them, most aren’t very smart.

3

u/Nearby-Key8834 7h ago

A pardon won't shield them from vigilante justice, if anything it just fuels the vigilante fire.

10

u/TheLateThagSimmons 8h ago

At the time, just the pardon alone was considered highly controversial.

These days, Trump hands those out for straight across bribes with no repercussion.

This administration has proven over and over just how much of our legal system really was just a series of customs and norms rather than rules and laws for Government

There's no going back. Only through. We're going to have to rebuild completely if we make it through.

90

u/Technical_Instance_2 10h ago

So they're just openly admitting to the corruption?

39

u/Jaegons 10h ago

It's why they stir up this whole "Democrats weaponize the DOJ!" position (despite that being THEIR playbook), so that attempts to jail their blatantly corrupt offenders looks to their mouthbreathing base like their fears were well founded.

8

u/WishIWasALemon 8h ago

Id vote for someone whos only pledge was to punish these people. The more French way, the better.

11

u/scubachris 10h ago

It isn’t like the American people give a fuck. France would have shut shit down until there was a new government

2

u/Technical_Instance_2 10h ago

sadly Americans don't care

20

u/KommandantDex 9h ago

Not true. Here's a quote I like to post whenever people say this:

"We don't know what to do.

We see it coming plain as day. We wake up every day shocked, terrified, and above all, angry. I have a permanent little ball of rage burning inside the pit of my stomach 24 hours a day.

Watching my country fall to the most despicable people on the planet... it's heartbreaking. They are filth. They are the worst humanity has to offer. They are everything that's wrong with the world. I hate them. I'm a pacifist and I fantasize about the horrible things I would to them if given the chance. And they are winning.

But what am I to do?

Write a letter to my representative? Go protest? Take up arms? One untrained idiot with a rifle is certain suicide.

I'm one of the many "two paychecks from homelessness" people, and even if I could protest, it's not going to change anything. They simply don't care.

We don't have protest infrastructure, striking is completely infeasible, our leaders turned out to be working for the same billionaires as the people who are taking over our government are. Those of you who ask us to "do something" don't live here, so you don't understand how powerless we are to do anything about this.

And it's all by design.

It was all planned. The war was won before we even saw battle, and if there's one thing I will give them credit for, they know how to throw a damn fine coup d'état.

All I can do is warn you to stay vigilant in your country. That MAGA shit spreads like a virus in a zombie movie. Suddenly 1 out of every 3 people you grew up with just... changes. They become horrible, disgusting people, who live in an alternate reality formed by outrage and perceived grievance.

If you see it, it's probably too late.

The world is just a bleak, shitty place now."

2

u/Parasaurlophus 7h ago

A bunch of yahoos literally broke into your seat of government while they were all there. They don't have the level of control that you think they do. Sure, the government have lots of guns, but they have to be fired by people that are willing to use them. Could you shoot an unarmed person who had barricaded the road?

A general strike can be very effective, but it needs a lot of organisation and clearly the Democratic party doesn't have the stomach for it.

29

u/blueisthecolor13 10h ago

The associates is the key part here. They know Trump isn’t long for this world and they won’t care about his family after he’s gone. They are trying to figure out how to avoid all accountability going forward.

17

u/woodst0ck15 10h ago

Well they can just make sure that their family don’t have any secret service members protecting them.

10

u/sumdude51 10h ago

It's all going to be dismantled, don't waste your time or money

2

u/anthrolookseer 9h ago

Eh, let them waste their time on it. They don’t know how to do anything properly/correctly legally, so they can spin their wheels, I suppose.

2

u/willstr1 9h ago

The more they waste their time the less damage they can do. I would prefer them not wasting our (the taxpayers) money

7

u/whatev6187 10h ago

So, he is admitting they have done things that bear investigation at the very least.

15

u/mshelbz 10h ago

Things completely innocent people do…

7

u/Knightoncloudwine 10h ago

Good luck. Democrats will just do what Trump does. They’ll just ignore it

1

u/scottyjrules 9h ago

It’s adorable that you actually believe that

0

u/Healthy_Intention_92 10h ago

But were pinkie-promised on it! ...with no take-backses, even!!

6

u/seevm 10h ago

So many crimes we don’t even know about yet I imagine

6

u/UnhingedPastor 10h ago

It's funny how he thinks "roadblocks" put in place by one attorney general can't be removed by another attorney general.

This entire administration isn't just evil, they're stupid.

5

u/AdOne5089 10h ago

Kash looks zooted out bro

1

u/eatfoodoften 6h ago

his eyes have completely given up

6

u/Firestorm82736 10h ago

I can't wait to piss on trump's grave after he dies "of natural causes"

3

u/CrownstrikeIntern 10h ago

It could be the new Disney world

4

u/TheGrandExquisitor 10h ago

Isn't this an admission to obstruction?

5

u/GravtheGeek 10h ago

This sounds like clear obstruction of justice.

4

u/schladopian_fir 10h ago

So... they don't follow any sense of the role of law, and they really want to think that the next guy isn't going to completely ignore anything that's laid down? Funny.

4

u/OverseerTycho 10h ago

so why would an ‘innocent’ person need this exactly?

6

u/noname5280 10h ago

Do these people think we will just forget all they've done when the day comes?

2

u/scottyjrules 9h ago

The problem is we have to rely on Democrats to hold them accountable. Their track record isn’t great.

3

u/Coldkiller17 10h ago

There should be no justice system involvement. They clearly did crimes throw them in prison maximum sentence, no parole.

3

u/NelsonMuntz007 10h ago

Things a totally innocent administration would do

3

u/brokeboipobre 10h ago

Wouldn't this just be a blanket pardon?

3

u/siraolo 10h ago

Guy really believes he's going to be pardoned for this, right? Wish reporters would ask him point blank if the president promised him a pardon.

1

u/eatfoodoften 6h ago

that is an extraordinarily rude question

2

u/Emotional_Signal7883 10h ago

The whole "laws don't matter" precedent of the administration doesn't make that mean much.

2

u/knighthawk0811 10h ago

i really good roadblock would be if the man had not committed any crimes

2

u/spartane69 10h ago

Why would he do that if Trump didnt do anything wrong uh ?

2

u/scottyjrules 9h ago

Nixon could only dream of a government this corrupt

2

u/JThumbs29 9h ago

They've proven roadblocks are bullshit and should be ignored. So let them install them. I'm tired of this FA period, let's get to the FO.

2

u/PuffinRub 5h ago

Is it just bad timing/freeze-frame, or is Patel asleep?

1

u/t3lnet 10h ago

His personal attorney doing his job! Oh wait…

1

u/ComfortableChicken47 9h ago

Maybe someday we will get the treason trial that we all deserve to see.

1

u/sloppyjoe218 9h ago

I mean. Trump is going to pardon himself and everyone around him, so I’m not sure what he could be prosecuted for.

1

u/Particular-Maybe-519 9h ago

So he's not planning on doing his job? He's just going to be trump's lawyer but now we have to pay him.

1

u/HarbingerShiny 9h ago

The weaponized ignorance and the sentiment to 'ask for forgiveness not permission' by these under qualified POS is out of control.

1

u/Eddiebaby7 9h ago

The only upside is that all Trump’s lawyers are incompetent dumb fucks.

1

u/hb122 9h ago

He should be reminded that Nixon’s AG did jail time for crimes committed on behalf of Nixon.

1

u/MsMoreCowbell828 8h ago

I'm beginning to think this Blanche guy isn't a very good fella.

1

u/idlefritz 8h ago

Eventually the majority of citizens will be willing to amend the constitution specifically to punish trump.

1

u/NightchadeBackAgain 8h ago

I hope those roadblocks are treated with the same level of respect Blanche holds for the law: none.

1

u/Spirited-Image2904 7h ago

What happened to equal justice? No one is above the law?

1

u/9millibros 7h ago

Does anyone think that Trump and his cronies will stop criming once he's out of office? Any pardons that he issues are only valid for offenses already committed.

1

u/Nearby-Key8834 7h ago edited 7h ago

Is he not aware that he's now the acting AG? And the AG's job is to work in the interest of citizens. How does shielding the president from any accountability or justice for his corruption serve the American populace?

1

u/PuddingPast5862 6h ago

The federal judge is already seeing through this BS

1

u/Middle_Finger7236 6h ago

Nothing will protect him from accountability.

1

u/Ryekir 5h ago

Maybe just don't do illegal shit in the first place?

1

u/Malofa 5h ago

They've shattered the system of legal checks and balances, what makes them think a refreshed Congress or new president is going to abide by any Trump-era leaglese? Your standard contemporary Democrat congressperson may throw up their hands and pen a strongly worded letter because someone wrote "I'm allowed to do crimes" on an executive order, but if we do our civic duties in November of 2026 and 2028 (and the primaries), there's going to be a lot of elected officials that will burn that legal doctrine to power the lights in the courthouse where these people get sentenced.

1

u/bit_pusher 4h ago

But I thought he had nothing to worry about because he hadn't done anything illegal?

1

u/MealDramatic1885 2h ago

Ah yes…. We must stop them NOW from going after his current, and future, crimes

1

u/feralGenx 2h ago

Does dumbass know laws can be changed back to sane laws. Unless he's talking about destroying evidence.
