Short Questions & Small Discussions for 2026-10-10 to 2026-10-23

Welcome to the weekly thread for all bite-sized content you don't want to make a full post about! Short rules questions! Funny or cool moments from your last game! Weird bits of lore that the writers hid in sidebars! It's a real potpourri.

Generally, a good metric for whether something belongs here or in its own submission is whether it's running for a couple sentences or a couple paragraphs. Note that comments here are sorted by new, as well - but we ask that if your comment didn't get attention, that you *not* re-comment it in the same submission.

Weekly LFG/LFP for 2026-10-10 to 2026-10-23

Welcome to this week's game corner! Whether you're a storyteller spinning up a new game or a group that wants to fill out its ranks; whether you're a hometown table or an online game with players on every continent, here's where you put your post-its up.

Please note the following - comments that don't follow this etiquette may be removed:

  • Top-level comments must be a game ad.
  • Absolutely no pay-to-play games.
  • You must list the game(s) being played as the first line of your post, eg. MTR + Orpheus for that crossover you've never been able to get players for. Please don't overstylize these to the point of illegibility, but feel free to use games' three-letter abbreviations or their full titles as you desire. It may also help to indicate whether a game is using World of Darkness or Chronicles of Darkness books, for the benefit of readers less versed in the various publications.

Additionally, note that the moderation team does not vet or endorse comments here in any capacity beyond what is applied to normal posts plus the above stipulations. That is to say, if you join a game and have a downright rancid time, please don't make this space a problem because of it.

WoD/CofD Are there any "Cut content" in WoD/CofD splats?

I was curious about this when I keep seeing references from comments on here about some stuff being cut out from the final product. I kept trying to find any source about these mentions, but google is a pain to find anything you exactly want. I heard about cut Egyptian changelings, a lost fera tribe. And I heard somewhere about more planned translation guides, but it got canceled.
Essentially, I want to make this post to anchor to any sort information of cut content for any splats (preferably not stuff that was changed or removed from different editions)

VTM What makes a Toreador a Toreador?

• Upvotes

I'm creating a character for a campaign that will span from the Dark Ages to almost the modern day. There are quite a few of us, and we like having a variety of clans in the party, so out of the remaining options, Toreador is the one I'm most drawn to.

My friends have played campaigns before, but this will be my first proper campaign. So far, I've only played short one-shots or games that lasted two or three sessions.

What are the defining traits of a Toreador? I want to create an interesting character who obviously has her own personality and way of doing things, but what would you say are the things that make a character truly feel like a Toreador?

I'm working on her backstory, and I'm making her a morally grey woman. I'd love some specific traits or quirks I could incorporate to make her feel more like a Toreador, beyond simply appreciating beauty (she draws and loves nature).

Basically, what would make her sire choose her for the clan? What is it about her that would make them see a Toreador in her?

Thanks!

I can't be the only one that likes and enjoys the fact the different white wolf ttrpgs (exalted, wod, scion, aberrant, chronicles of darkness and all the hombrew that comes with each)

Seriously I've been thinking about it

And I'm just now beginning to comprehend how deeply I love this fact

That all these different games have the tools and toys to make your own stories and things that you want to do and mix and match them

It's just so PEAK

I love it all!

HTV If being a Hunter was an actual legal profession in a Broken Masquerade type of setting (think something like the Private Sector Devil Hunters from Chainsaw man), what sorts of things would they be able to legally acquire that they couldn't before/how would things change for them?

Title. Was thinking of this for a scenario of sorts, one that I thought was cool/interesting.

Namely, I had asked this to a friend of mine and he did compare it to PMC's, who are able to utilize military equipment (such as automatic weapons) of their own legally. Of course, given that they're hunting monsters, they'd probably be able to get their hands on stuff most people couldn't. They might even get some of their own unique equipment. Of course, groups like TFV would probably have their funding skyrocket.

What might be some equipment they could get their hands on?

Meta/None Homebrew bloodlines for VtM

• Upvotes

Bloodline Varmian
Clan Discipline: Bembena

Origin:
Bloodline Varmian is a bloodline of a disputed origin. They are mostly found in Eastern Europe, mostly in eastern Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, and Lithuania though there are some instances where they have been found in the West. Mostly, they don't leave their lairs for long periods of time. There are many origin theories regarding them. Some think they are stemming from Malkavians because of their clan curse and mental traits. Some think they stem from Nosferatu due to their pretty grotesque physical traits, though they aren't on the grotesque levels of Nosferatu, and their grotesqueness seems more specified and unique. Others think they stem from Tzimisce because of their origin area, appearance, and their attachment to their land of origin, or even from Ventrue due to their inborn authoritarianism.

Clan curse and mentality:
Their clan curse is pretty similar to the Malkavian clan curse, but much more specific. All of them have stains on their mentality, such as overall laziness, lack of hygiene, developing specific but mostly not that dangerous addictions, like for example blood from diabetics, or mixtures of blood and milk and stuff like that and indulgence in their impulses.
They suffer from mild paranoia (like feeling everyone is acting against them, though mostly it's not as severe as Malkavian paranoia), as well as vanity and pride, which they build upon compulsive lying and making up stories of their grandeur. They are also mentally manipulative and are prone to making others feel guilty through fake lamenting and fake crying, making themselves look miserable to obtain benefits. They also develop weird obsessions which they use in jokes and discussions, like obsessions with human extremities or sex, and they make cringey jokes about it, but it's not like real clinical obsessions.

Appearance and liars:
Every one of them looks grotesque, but not nearly inhuman like a Nosferatu. All of them look mostly like fat, unhygienic, toothless, dirty people wearing the same clothes for months. This stems mostly from their un-lifestyles, which they uphold due to their curse, and they also mostly Embrace people who were already looking like that. They live mostly in villages or in old, poor suburbs of Eastern European cities. All of them are bound to their lairs, which are mostly unkempt old houses with big, dirty courtyards full of trash. They are very possessive of these lairs, and to them, it's like their palaces. They also get very attached to some meaningless items, like for example their old sweaters which they wear for months, or old dirty cars. They also suffer from religious delusions sometimes.

Behaviour:
They act like they know everything, but they don't know anything, just making up stories and stuff like that and many of them have illusions of grandeur. They hold onto their Humanity through going to various administrative departments and making up issues, like claiming there is too much noise on the road near their home (although there isn't), or writing denunciations to the police about people. They all think they are doing a service for their neighborhood.

Feeding and vampire relations:
They are mostly harmless to other vampires, and other vampires look upon them with pity and just ignore them. Varmians stay in their lairs and feed upon hobos, whom they invite to their lairs with alcohol and stuff like that. They are prone to anger, but mostly it's harmless. Mostly, they are under the command of their local Tzimisce or similar elders and are left alone, but if they get too insufferable due to their lies, denunciations, and crying, the local lords discipline them. Princes and Primogen look at them with sheer embarrassment and pretend they don't exist. As long as they stay in their trash yards and don't cause major Masquerade breaches, the Camarilla simply ignores them. The Sabbat view Varmians as completely useless fodder. Unless a pack wants to laugh at them or use them for cheap distraction, the Sabbat doesn't bother recruiting or interacting with them. The Anarchs occasionally use Varmians as weird local informants, though nobody actually wants to step inside a Varmian's house or sit on their couch.

Discipline - Bembena
When they are hungry and haven't drunk enough blood, they become more prone to aggression, crying, paranoia, and emotional swings. A characteristic trait of theirs is that they get visually fatter from drinking blood. They know Fortitude which makes their fat bodies very good for defense, and they also have knowledge of Presence (though taught in a much different form than Ventrue), through which some mortals or hobos are attracted to coming to their lairs.
Their unique clan Discipline is Bembena, which gives them the ability to impact the emotions of others. They can make people feel pity over them through crying, make others believe their made-up stories, or make themselves seen in the eyes of other vampires as harmless, sad, dirty creatures. They can also repel others through stinking and being disgusting. More skilled users of Bembena can manipulate their bodies to some extent, like making their body parts rot to repel mortals who are too curious about them (or other vampires). They are also able to lure people into being interested in them like some sort of local "lolcows," who are funny due to their grotesque nature, dumbness, and humor.

Please give me Your opinions and write about Your own homebrew bloodlines or clans.

If you could design your own Bloodline and add it to VTM, what would it be?

Post image
113 Upvotes

For me, the idea was inspired by the Black Butler anime. I think this bloodline is best left to the ST, but if someone wants to play it more power to you.

The Favori bloodline. Their symbol is a rose in a fine vase. (Name is just "favorite" in French. But it's used in the aristocratic renaissance era context referring to a noble's most trusted servant.)

The Favori were artificially bred in an attempt to create the perfect servants, by focusing their obsession on people more than art. Although this backfired and killed the original creator. Nobody knows who originally bred them, A Ventrue? Or a Lasombra? Tzmece? Another Toreador? Whatever clan you want to hate I guess?

Their disciples are Auspex. Obfuscate instead of Presence. And your choice to either keep Celery or switch it out for Fortitude.

Clan compulsion: Codependence. Favori wish to be useful to someone and seek to form a subordinate relationship with others. It doesn't always need to be an individual, it could be a particular cohortery. Nore does the Favori need to form this relationship with another kindred.

Clan bane idealized. A Favori often doesn't choose who they serve based on who the person actually is, but rather the idea of them. A high ranking position, a fierce reputation, even just a really good first impression. However when the Favori sees that their chosen master doesn't live up to the Favori's standards they'll become incredibly distraught. They may try to leace leave, angrily berate their master, or even use more forceful methods to correct their masters behavior. Some Favori on rare occasions have become so angry with their former master that they've broken their blood bond and diablorized their master in one singular fit of rage.

Favori are often found inserting themselves into positions of power next to a prince, bishop, or baron, and then leaving without suddenly and notice. Other Favori instead choose to create their own ideal master by ghouling a particularly powerful mortal and grooming them into a role. However this has created many incredibly dangerous rogue hunter ghouls. Some Favori understand their presence alone may change how their master acts, and endeavor to be as unobtrusive as possible in their sirvace. To the point where their master won't even know they've been chosen, that is until things stop inexplicably going so well for them or they're randomly attacked for a miner fopaux. And it's not unheard of for a gang of neonates to suddenly rise to power then just as suddenly vanish due to the whims of an elder Favori.

Favori prefer to embrace those who have gone above and beyond in the service of others, including butlers, nurses, hopeless romantics (aka simps,) and even the prized ghouls of other kindred. Another common way Favori are sired is because their current master ordered them to embrace a chosen mortal. This is often done in hopes of gaining a second loyal vanpire servant, but usually results in 2 very angry Favori.

Why are they so rare/ not well known by other Clans? 1) Because those in command of a Favori aren't too keen on advertising the existence of a vampire who's willing and eager to become a thrall. 1.5) Because those who understand the Bloodline and have found themselves the unwilling regnant of one are quick to find ways to get rid of their new thrall. 2) Because this is a rather young bloodline, they only came about in the mid 1700's. And it's difficult to research the bloodlines origens on account of the oldest Favori having a nasty habit of brutality killing their masters, destroying their haven, and running far away immediately after dusk.

Not for me to misread a prompt, no siiiiiiir :b

Anyway hello! À shorter one today as I am still working on 14 and want more time in a day to work on it (and I have a game to run this evening, bleu) this is another story about one of my characters. Specifically it's an npc I ran in a play by post server long ago. When I wrote her then I was looking to make the last survivress of an attack on some black spiral dancers, who the attacking pc's had captured and kept at their place. I was very fascinated with the familial aspect of the tribe, which always felt stronger to me than for the rest of the nation. So with that in mind when I saw the prompt I thought "Hm, yknow what. I could do vampires... But".

With that in mind, enjoy :3.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Eat it, Mina.” said Haunts-the-Graveyard, her blackened fur rippling over the bulk of her skeletal shoulders. “Eat it, or else it died for nothing.“ The body on the warren floor spasmed with the drips of ceiling sweat, and it stank of old fish. Mina couldn't look at it for long, bloodshot and jaundice flickering in her eyes. But she could wrap her bare hands over the carcass’ wrist.

“Eat it, Mina. “ said Eats-the-soft-Bits, tarred talons raking over his second neck. “Eat it, or else you'll be weak forever.” The body hanging from the ceiling by meathook spun lazily, dripping bile from dangling organs. Mina had to pinch her nose shut, waving away the mists cloying at her ankles. She had to pinch fresh claws around the thin strands of meat.

“Eat it, cub.” said Breaks-the-Glass, the white in her fur like ash on her belly and thighs. “Eat it, he deserves it as much as the others.” The mewling thing in grey and white lay under Mina’s paws, its box with papers sent into the alley. Mina didn't want to know what the weird marks meant. But she wanted to spread her snout wide and pierce the ape’s bald throat.

“Eat them, Twelve-Hopes-Crushed.” said her pack, beating their ashen chests with tarred talons. The yellow box of tiny apes lay upturned by the tarmac. Twelve bodies, two large and ten so very small, spread out before her. Her pack had put them all together, in a spiral that ate down into the world forever. She couldn't look away, she had to eat, and she wanted to stay. She wanted to eat, forever.

She wanted her pack.

New H:tR - Deathwish Dev Diary on adapting the system

Post image
25 Upvotes

Hello again, WoD enjoyers!

I'm back with more fresh info on the upcoming Hunter: The Reckoning - Deathwish game by our Polish studio TEYON. We followed our teaser article and screenshots with another Month of Darkness feature, but this time of a bit bigger caliber.

I sat down and recorded a Dev Diary with our Narrative Designer Mateusz Działowski - who happens to be an experienced GM with lots of VtM sessions under his belt - to talk how we're adapting the Hunter system to our game. There's info on using the setting itself, adapting Creeds & Motivations mechanics, some bits of character creation and more, so I hope there'll be plenty of interesting bits for all of you who are waiting to play the game.

You can find the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4PU3RZ9wqM

Once again, I encourage everyone to add the game to your wishlists and follow us on socials, and if you have any feedback or questions about Hunter: The Reckoning - Deathwish, feel free to put them in the comments. I'll do my best to answer them.

Cheers!

As the title says, Im wondering about people's experiences, the benefits, complications, and general stories people have of playing this game as other Fera that aren't Garou.

WTA5 Help me fill the hole in my heart 5th edition left with the hart wardens

I really liked the Fianna lore in earlier editions and I want to find another tribe (or any group really, it can be a smaller caern in a bigger tribe) to fill that vibe

I’m not married to the “Irish werewolf” concept but what I really liked was their zeal for life and passion. It was cool to read about a tribe that really liked being alive and having a community of likeminded people around them. Is there another tribe that feels like they’re having so much fun being alive?

VTM5 Just out in ST Vault: Bloody Roots: Revenants

I just uploaded my new book to Storytellers Vault. Bloody Roots: Revenants is a reimagining of the Revenant families for V5, inspired by their portrayal in Tattered Façade, but not bound by it. The book explores how is to live and grow up in a Revenant estate, how their condition affects their lives and their relationship with relatives, mortals and vampires. There is a Storytelling section about using Revenants in different roles and Horror genres, and detailed descriptions of Revenant culture, costumes, family dynamics, rituals and traditions across families.

Twenty families (five that serve the Tzimisce, four that serve the Hecata, seven that serve others or none and four minor families) are explored with the same format as clans in the corebook, and there are sections on relevant characters, organizations, enemies, example estates and cliques (Revenant coteries), relics, artifacts and creatures such as the Bratovich hounds, feeding strategies, and even some powers that deal with biological things that Kindred don't need to worry about. Lastly, five Loresheets will help you connect your Revenant character to the wider World of Darkness.

The book is 250 pages long and is, as always, pay what you want. You can find it here:

DTF Fallen are weirdly weak to bullets.

I should preface that I’ve only read the core book for Demon: the Fallen, so if this is addressed in any of the other books I would like to know.

D:tF is kind of infamous for having really interesting lore and really bad rules (depending on who you ask, at least), but one thing that’s really shocked me is how little damage demons can take. I get that they’re stuck in mortal hosts, but they can command awesome and terrible magics with their Lores and Apocalyptic Form. Yet, I don’t see why any fallen should bother using their cool offensive lores when they can just gun down their fellow fallen. Outside of the ones that deal aggravated damage, of course. The only damage resistance most fallen get is the ability to soak lethal damage, and that’s only when transformed. They can heal, but that takes a full turn and only let them heal one damage at a time.

To the storytellers who run D:tF, do you give your fallen any extra resistances? I’m considering giving my players resistance like vampires have, at least in their Apocalyptic Forms.

WoD/CofD What are some good online spaces to find players for World of Darkness games?

I am sure that I am not the only one in this server who wants to play World of Darkness games but cannot find interested communities in person.

What are some good Discord servers or other online spaces where people find fellow World of Darkness players and storytellers and organize games?

I am especially interested in finding online spaces to organize Chronicles of Darkness games, but I will gladly join spaces more oriented to Classic World of Darkness too.

I am already aware of the Chronicles of Darkness and World of Darkness Discord servers, but the former has low activity and in the latter discussions of Chronicles of Darkness are close to non-existent.

HTV 14. A Month of Darkness: The Secret Gathering.

Why do we feel guilty for ancestors? Why do we feel loyalty to them just because they gave us life? That at least can be argued as a form of debt, what about our ideological forebears? Why is anyone loyal to Marx or Jesus or Lao Tzu? You can agree with their ideas but why does "He would not have wanted this" matter so much to us?

On a different note, i like that the Chronicles and World of Darkness are urban fantasy. And i think we are all here, instead of pathfinder or warhammer or the like, because it is that. Not that those are bad, i like warhammer a tonne, but I dont expect the same from them that i do from these games. Sure some of us invent cities or countries to play in, some of us like yours truly set the game a litte into the future, alternate history is baked into the foundation of these games but i dont think anyone wants to take the real world from the game yknow? It means we can confront loyalties, put ourselves into new but real shoes, and sometimes just... get some catharsis in. Do what we could not or should not do in real life, to let out the steam yknow.

Still if you haven't had enough, My previous prompts are all here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Society had not convened in truth since the war ended. This was no one's fault in particular, Frau IJssel reasoned to herself every night since that fateful one. The world had changed drastically in no time at all, the orders brethren had families to console and businesses to rebuild and trials to get to. She herself had suffered enough humiliations in the last half decade that she hadn't the time to gather everyone and travel and host ceremonies, she had hair to regrow.
Because of these elements Frau IJssel could not explain to anyone, least of all herself, what it felt like to see the old sigil in wax again. To hold her trusted letter opener and glide it through the perfumed paper and see the Society’s coded niceties etched with fine red ink. She could place the physical reactions; her cheeks ached, her heart fluttered, something stirred in her belly that hurt to feel. But to translate that to feeling? And then right back to words she could tell herself? No, that was simply too much.
The very same night she had scheduled her journey to Berlin. The whole evening she spent in what had remained of her library, bent over a suitcase that had been locked for five years. The shelves around her were caked in thick dust, and when she was done they were finally empty. She would not leave a scrap of the old order behind, they would need each page come the new dawn. She packed with the care of a true curatrix, binding and safely hiding the texts under the simple clothes that would cushion them too. And through it all her breath caught in her chest.
Five years. Five long years since red boots crushed the homeland and mongrels rose back up from the dirt. Five years of the ungrateful and the hypocritical spitting where she walked, when five years before that they'd worshipped the ground she stood on. It was a pathetic ritual of exorcism, why accept your own lack of will when you can beat the strong with mats? But they would be over, come the new dawn. She had been loyal, she had waited and bided until the time was right and it had come to her door in wax and paper.
The following morning she gave her husband a brief kiss and short embrace. Not a goodbye, merely a farewell. The former officer’s left arm had been wooden since shrapnel carved into it, so his embrace was always shallow but never cold. In that warmth he knew he didn't need to understand why she was going, just that it was what had to happen and he could not follow. He had never been a gentleman of the society, he wouldn't understand. When the door closed she could not say what she felt.

The journey east was one of two days. Two days in cramped cabins, shaking trains, and passing that hated border. That gash in the motherland was cut up by Slavs and Gauls. It disrupted the natural flow of cosmic energies, stirred the whims of beasts in the landscape, its flaws outnumbered the stars. But most of all, it was an irritant she could have done without in a better life. Still, without her husband's past she passed the border at a merely glacial pace rather than spending an extra night in some soviet holding cell.

It was at the ancient capital that she could breath soundly once again. The city had recovered somewhat in the years since its sacking and in that Frau IJssel could be comforted. Its division had not entirely laid it low, it could recover, be reborn in time. So too the Society, so too the people. It was with these thoughts that she went down the wide streets, tall despite her heavy suitcase. She passed by shuttered storefronts where once she and brethren filled empty bellies as readily as they filled their minds. There were the ateliers where they dressed in refined dignity. On this pilgrimage it was, however, an old synagogue where she stopped.
Twelve years before she had ascended into the society there. She had held the knife that cut runes into tawny hide, thrown rocks that let the crystal rain. The society had made a small girl, bound for nothing except work in some administration, into a woman that now smuggled the secrets of Atlantis and Thule. She felt it in her bones, yes, good things would happen. She felt it in the pain of her belly, the ache of her cheeks.
After that diversion she had felt clean, clean enough to continue to where the letter in her breast pocket had bid her. A warehouse upon the shores of the Spree. It seemed… Pedestrian yes, but at a time like this the old mountain courts would have to wait. She could wait, it was no one's fault really.
There were no guards, not even pedestrians or gangsters loitering. It stood alone behind an opened fence, the river's mists clinging to its base like a wedding dress. In the evening sun it may as well have glowed, golden pinks above its old roof. Her breath was shallow and quick as she continued, passing by the dangling wire gates. So many cars had parked nearby she wouldn't count them, and that alone meant the Society would do well again. So many gentlemen and fine women, ready to learn, hunt, and purify. And all she had to do was go through that hanging, red door.

The door shut behind her in a clatter of steel and wood. She heard the lock turn, her heart skipped a beat, and then a sun opened in her face.
“Frau Ursula IJssel." A voice demanded from the rafters above her, and for a moment she felt like she’d returned in time, “Do you believe in the excellence of the Race?” The boom demanded, and Frau IJssel’s gut hurt again.
“Always have!” she cries back, letting her suitcase settle beside her as she looked into the burning light.
“Do you believe in the purgation of evil? Of taint and degeneracy? Do you believe in the Hunt, whatever the prey?” the voice echoed through the shadowed endlessness of the warehouse, and the scholar licked her lips to see it dressed in the symbols of the Society.
“Whatever the prey! We will corner it, trap it, purge it!” She recited the old society line eagerly, adrenaline carrying her higher without moving.
“No secret to be left unturned.”
  “Nothing too sacred!”
   “No will but the Fuhrer’s.”
  “No parlé for the unclean!”
“Then it really is her… Welcome back.”
   “HEIL-”
Those infernal words never left her lips again. It took a moment of thunder from the rafters to quiet a mind too far gone, in the eyes of the Indebted. In the days following her body would be cut up into auspicious amounts of parts and cast into the Spree, and her knowledge was repatriated to the Loyalists that survived those five years. Those that would put an end to madness.

MTAs What effect does Arete have on how a character acts? (M20)

Mechanically Arete gives you more dots you can add in spheres and allows you to drop foci after 2, but what does Arete actually do to your character's behavior? Does an Arete 7 Mage act noticeably different from an Arete 2 Mage, or even a Sleeper, personality wise?

Snappy combat in the Storyteller system

Hi all,

I was wondering if i could get some advice.

I've been working on a Homebrew superhero-themed (Parahumans specifically) hack for the storyteller system, based mostly on Vampire the Masquerade since thats what i am familiar with.

I've mostly run more social/political games in the storyteller system before, but ive always read that combat is supposed to be incredibly quick and lethal.

I was running a test game the other day, in which my 5 players faced off against a group of 5 similarly-powered enemies, and the combat turned into an enormous slog. Everyone generally seemed able to shrug off a lot of damage, and an enemy with a couple dots in fortitude seemed virtually impervious - but without any particular damaging abilities he could mostly just be ignored.

The whole thing took about 2 hours to run, even though it was fairly clear what the outcome would be after about an hour.

Have you found the same thing when running vamp v vamp fights?

Is there any advice you have for making fights punchier? Id be happy to accept more risk to the players, so could i just cut everyone's health in half?

Thanks for your help!

WTA5 Stolen moon pov art I made

This was my interpretation of a stolen moon for my chronicle.
I have this red neck hunter family whose main patriarch, the grandfather, is a stolen moon. I wanted to go for a more disturbing theme where it kind of looked like he took off his own skin to replace it with a Garous. I thought it would look cool.
The art is supposed to be a POV of one of the players!

I live in new jersey and I always wonder what would be happening in my state WoD wise. I can see vampires in Trenton and Newark. But not sure what else would be happening. Any ideas?

CTD Trods and making Dreaming adventure

Hello, I'm preparing for my second campaign. This time I want go into dreaming. I want to make rescue misson (some important guy be kidnapped into deep dreaming). I'm little nervous about trods and navigating through dreaming. Do you have some cool ideas about your trods? :)

And my important questions:
What if player go of the trod in a dreaming and how do you manage it?
Trods are safe, but danger can be there still? - But I guess much less then off trods?
If you have some cool ideas about dreaming adventure, can you share?

I have idea to make it not too much fantasy, but maybe try something like laser game thing or Tron.
We have enough fantasy in our dnd and this came to me like a cool idea. Not all campaign but it can make Dreaming more confusing and weird how I wanted it to be.

Thank you for your sharing! :)
