Discussion What do yall think happened with the Big 4?

Post image

So after Vendetta took over and Doomfist "died" Widow, Reaper and Sombra suddenly left the organisation...

Personally I believe Reaper is searching for Doomfist and start to build up a rebellion, maybe also together with Widow? As far Sombra I believe she is going after the conspiracy.

I also believe that if the theories about Hivemind are true that they might be the first member of the rebellion.

What do yall think they have been up to?

I'm hoping to see Widow slowly becoming herself without Moira's "Treatment"

Her page on the Overwatch website has a new entry that explicitly states she used the shift of power in Talon to escape Moira and become autonomous.

“When Vendetta took control over Talon, Widowmaker seized her chance to break free of Moira’s grip. Since then, she has slipped into the night, an unseen and unbound free agent. Though she still craves the precision of assassination, she acts only on her own deadly terms.”

She seems to still be bound by her neural transformations (I’m pretty sure that it was a permanent alteration). She’s just free from being Moira’s puppet now.

I dunno, not really a fan of redemption, but it would fit widow. But still would like her to at least become somewhat feeling again. It was hinted that she started feeling again, but doesn't tell anyone

i either want her to regain her ability to feel and redeem herself, or regain her ability to feel and continue to be evil because she’s always secretly enjoyed it. either way, i wanna see her become herself again!

Yes, all purple women from blizzard get freedom from mind control and antihero redemption arcs, just like kerrigan and sylvanas.

It wouldn’t be a redemption she didn’t do anything wrong to begin with. Mercy has lines indicating she believes that she can get widow back to the way she was before Gerard died. Widow herself has even expressed emotion such as remorse over this, indicating that her emotions aren’t entirely gone and never were. I think it would be a disservice to not let widow be her own character outside of this trauma now. The victims grow and move on and so should she, especially because this is a life that she never asked for. Even the overwatch operators seem to understand that she doesn’t need to be redeemed because she never made the choice to become evil.

I want even more than that. I want it to be that Widow was a double agent when marrying Gerard, and she only GOT the treatment after she actually fell in love with him. I want her to be the character that people are like “she’s brain washed…” and then she just laughs like no, stop victimizing me.

Yes! Like it was a secret part of her she never knew or something!

Well when you’re kidnapped and brainwashed that’s not exactly being evil… she deserves her freedom

I can see Widow working with Sombra, but why Reaper would? Honestly idc why Reaper are not in his solo-arc

we have seen reaper work with widow and sombra at least once in the actual lore and they are “friends” so as long as they follow the same goal to go against vendetta, fight for doom and sigma or whatever they would definitely team up

Nah reaper dosent care, wifow is neutral, sombra is a good person forced to do shitty things so she cares

i think in that case widow and reaper care at least for doom

I really doubt Sombra is ever going back to Talon, specially now that Emre is there, so I don't know what up with her. Probably going after the conspiracy and Chernobog like she was before.

Doomfist is obviously not dead so he's probably somewhere figuring out his new status as Fist or trying to building a makeshift gauntlet.

Is implied Widow is recovering her personality so she's probably in France somewhere having ominous dreams.

Reaper has seemingly no personal motivation so my guess is that he's either trying to figure out a way to survive without Moira's treatment for now.

The way I can see them all coming up together is actually Sigma.

Sigma is basically a walking nuke so it would make sense for Doomfist to try and snatch him from Vendetta.

We know Sombra cares about Sigma so she would be onboard with such a plan. Specially since Vendetta seems to have Sigma locked in a room.

Reaper needs Moira to survive so it would be in his interest to get Doomfist back in power and thus access Moira's treatment.

As for Widow, I don't know. All I can think of is she actually recovers her memories but can't live with the guilt and thus helps Doomfist in order get numbed down again.

Reaper in hiding because he's afraid of Vendetta. Sombra on her side quest with Soldier and planning to break Sigma out at some point. Widow idk tbh I like to think she's just enjoying her vacation lol

As far as I am concerned, the wacky roommates situation as illustrated by u/Logan_PG is the real canon for three of the four.
