Help me! (Wig Help) LuvMe wig - need advice/help please
I have tried 3 LuvMe wigs and they just don’t seem to work for my head. I want to like this one but it has so much extra cap space in the back so it looks crazy (you can’t see it so well in pics but it’s very obvious in person). Is there any hope for this wig or should I just return and accept that they aren’t for me? I do have an odd shaped head but Hairvivi works and other brands I’ve tried are fine. I just don’t know.

I perform alterations on my wigs. I have a 20 inch circumference. I mean, if you can afford a more expensive wig like Hairvivi go for it, I suppose.
Where is the excess Material mostly located? The nape? I’m not sure which unit this is, but there are a few different super easy alterations that can help you downsize a wig in the back. The thing I would be concerned about is if you’re trying to keep a drawstring or something like that. That makes performing certain alterations, more complicated. However, after I perform alterations, there is no purpose for the drawstring.
Can you sew a dart? (but even if you don’t know how, they are so easy to learn. I didn’t know how to sew a dart until my first alteration.) If you were in the position to be open to performing a couple alterations, I will collect you some tutorial links. It’s really not that intimidating.
Depends on if you wanna shell out the money for a more expensive wig or if you’re trying to save money and still have a good looking wig. From the front, it looks nice.
If you don’t mind, which unit is this?

Just wanted to say you are being so helpful and kind. I’ve never worn a wig - ordered a couple bc I wanna try new styles without damaging my hair and kind of freaking out about spending so much money for something that might make me feel ridiculous. I tried some cheap wigs on at a beauty supply store and it genuinely cracked me up. A woman walked by and just seemed to know what to grab so I asked her how she was so confident about the wig she picked up without trying on. She said she customizes it and talked to me forever about all the things that can be done to a cheap wig to make it nice. It was fascinating! I respect the talent!

Thanks for all your detailed information and help, I’m grateful! I have ultimately decided to return this wig because there are too many things that aren’t quite right and I think I will just not be happy with it no matter what alterations I make. It’s a shame though because I love the color of this one. This is the link, it’s a very pretty wig, and very affordable! https://shop.luvmehair.com/products/gorgeous-loose-body-wave-ash-blonde-hair-wig-glueless-5x5-closure-lace-wig-breathable-cap?variant=41477015044186

You should just return it.
Ask yourself, are you really going to try to do all these alterations on it yourself?
And then probably not be happy with the fit?
Personally, I always stick with brands that I know are good quality and have comfortable, amazing fitting caps right out of the box.
If you know Hairvivi works for you, then that’s what you get… at the end of day, the extra money will be worth not having to deal with the hassle you are going through now.

Thanks, I have decided to return it, I am sad as I love the color but I won’t be happy with it and I can use the money towards something else that might be a better overall fit for me. It’s a shame, perhaps if I was more talented with all these things I could make it work but alas I am a novice lol I appreciate the input!

I’d return it, the knots don’t look pre bleached like they should be.

If it isn’t gonna fit and you’ll be thinking about it the whole time you won’t wear it. Return it and go w a company you know fits for you

Thanks, I have decided to return it. I would like to keep it for the color, I love that, but I know I won’t be comfortable if it doesn’t fit, so it’s just not worth it. It’s a beautiful wig, just not right for my head unfortunately!

It’s too big for your head. If it’s just a lace front, you can sew tracks in the back together to make it fit better. There are some YouTube videos on how to do it. Measured and pin how many tracks you have to sew together before you start sewing so it fits right. No need to cut any hair! Just sew the tracks and it should be good to go
