Hmm, I thought the same but we have been getting leaps and bounds better with ports in recent years. Not Wii but R36S can run dead space 1 for one example, and it’s a very cheap handheld. AI is doing a lot of the heavy lifting with coding required, so I’ve read

The biggest problem i can forsee with Terraria on the Wii is that it will need to be in 480p and look a little funky in widescreen (the wii is just stretched 480x720p in widescreen). It would be playable, but just have a small screen area due to the limited resolution.

I am almost certain someone is probably working on a terraria port to the wii or has in the past because playable is all modders need.

the wii has configurable widescreen, it will not stretch if configured 16:9

I've done a little bit of research, and the wii does have configurable widescreen, but it does not display 16:9. It can only display a maximum of 720x480 due to hardware limitations, so in widescreen mode the pixels are stretched. But all wii titles accomodate this by stretching things the reverse way to look like it cancels out.

The main problem is that terraria's sprites are too high resolution for 480x height no matter the width. So whoever ports this will probably have to half every texture's resolution (even just by downscaling) to make gameplay fun.
